  • Ever wonder just how much shore power your RV is consuming when hooked up to shore power? Want to know just how much each of your appliances is drawing without having to move a meter all over your RV to test everything or go outside and read the meter?
Lots of RV’s show you how many amps they are drawing at any given time but how much does that calculate to in dollars per hour, day or per month?
We wondered the same thing but we couldn’t find a reliable or easy way to meter our usage which would allow us to adjust our usage habits to meet our budget so we built a nifty little gadget that does it for you from inside your coach.

That device looks helpful to estimate the size of solar system an RV might need. Solar install companies should use that device to more accurately estimate an RVr's usage would be.

I have a 43 foot Toyota or Chaz sportsman, and I leave it plugged in to 50 amp service running through my house. Halhow do I know how much I'm using? And I leave it plugged in all the time even if I'm not using anything. How much would it be drawing in Colorado's? California is like 35 cents per kilowat, as low as 30 cents. How much am I using in the 24 hour period or monthly? I'd really appreciate some help with the answer don't advancer thank you

How would an RV park utilize this product to easily track each pedestals kilowatt consumption for the purpose of preventing over usage of power throughout the stay.

Fun! I have been using the Efergy monitors at home and to monitor power used and solar power produced for a couple of years. The do work great! For wild camping (which we do mostly in the summer months) we use a Link Pro battery monitoring system (for our 12 volt battery system) but your idea for monitoring power usage when plugged in is a great idea!

Hey Scott, thanks for the feedback and for the tip regarding the battery monitor. We are actually dabbling with installing a solar setup now and a battery monitor sounds like a great addition. much appreciated.

+LivinLite.net A battery monitor is a must have for Wild Camping- You really can't begin to design your system until you know what your usages are. Then you can figure out how many batteries you need (Golf cart batteries are very robust and work great) and how much power you need to generate to properly charge them during all the months of the year as you continue on your great adventures together together!

We’re still trying to figure out how to assemble this after watching this video. We bought your product.Do we start with 2 separate main wires,1 with the male plug and 1 with the female plug?Is that a hole in each end of the storage box to slide the wire into? Thanks for any help we’re trying to put it together now.

I would figure out how to put the sensors into the rv power input. cool idea thanks

+Joseph Mullin Thanks for the feedback. Yes you could probably put the sensors in your RV but that would likely require modifications to your rv. Every rig is different but its definitely possible. We were shooting for a completely portable solution we could lend to friends etc but if you come up with something internal we'd love to see it!
