I can't help shrug off that joke that if you're a good swimmer, you can easily reach Taiwan through Batanes. :) Kidding aside, I was able to travel most parts of the world due to work. But I never considered myself really lucky because I never got the chance to explore much of my own country. Watching your videos helped me recognise this deficit which is why whenever I can, I try to accept work from anywhere in the Philippines starting last year just so I can explore on the side when my job is done there. Needless to say, travelling with family or loved ones is much more fun. Beautiful Batanes is one of those dream destinations of mine. Undoubtedly, your video is the BEST and most COMPREHENSIVE out there! Kudos! Hello, Simone! Lol, you made me curious, so I Googled this. Marathon swimmers can do 200km+ on open water but with calm seas. Itbayat, Batanes to Taiwan is only 170km, but since the water is rough, it will be farfetched! Cuba to Florida was possible, though (from the Netflix movie "Nyad"). 😁 Anyway, I hope you can visit Batanes when you work in the Philippines again. It's really worth it, and you would constantly tell yourself, "We have this in the Philippines?!" Lol! This is my 2nd time here, but even then, I am still constantly amazed by this place. Beautiful videos of Batanes! I am an Ivatan and I must say you captured the real beauty of Batanes through your videos. What I like about your videos is it captures both the views and the surrounding sounds of nature - waves clapping, birds singing, flutter of leaves, and the occasional Ivatan people talking a familiar language (to me). (unlike what other vloggers do who put a lot more self importance by putting their faces on camera). The POV shots you made are great. Well researched and correctly spelled names. Well, except for that place named after a brand of cigarette, we do not like calling it that because the name is 'Rakuh a Payaman'. We Ivatans do not promote smoking. Overall, I love the videography! You should try visiting Dingalan, Aurora. It's also the "Batanes of the East" because of the beautiful scenic view of the ocean that is similar to Batanes Island. There's a lot of view decks in Dingalan
Watching this made me miss Batanes! It's definitely unique compared to the rest of the Philippines! You should try visiting there during the winter season to experience the cold weather there hehe.

You know, I have been wondering why not a lot of Pinoys are going to Batanes. I checked to find flights and my goodness me. I'd rather go to Taiwan, Japan or other SEA countries! The price of each flights are ridiculously expensive! So no wonder why anyone would just go abroad instead. But I wish someday, I'll be able to get there. It's a perfect environment for retirement.

I can't help shrug off that joke that if you're a good swimmer, you can easily reach Taiwan through Batanes. :) Kidding aside, I was able to travel most parts of the world due to work. But I never considered myself really lucky because I never got the chance to explore much of my own country. Watching your videos helped me recognise this deficit which is why whenever I can, I try to accept work from anywhere in the Philippines starting last year just so I can explore on the side when my job is done there. Needless to say, travelling with family or loved ones is much more fun. Beautiful Batanes is one of those dream destinations of mine. Undoubtedly, your video is the BEST and most COMPREHENSIVE out there! Kudos! And once again, thanks a tonne for instilling hope within me that one day I will finally have my chance of visiting Batanes.
Hello, Simone! Lol, you made me curious, so I Googled this. Marathon swimmers can do 200km+ on open water but with calm seas. Itbayat, Batanes to Taiwan is only 170km, but since the water is rough, it will be farfetched! Cuba to Florida was possible, though (from the Netflix movie "Nyad"). 😁
Anyway, I hope you can visit Batanes when you work in the Philippines again. It's really worth it, and you would constantly tell yourself, "We have this in the Philippines?!" Lol! What I like about your videos is it captures both the views and the surrounding sounds of nature - waves clapping, birds singing, flutter of leaves, and the occasional Ivatan people talking a familiar language (to me). (unlike what other vloggers do who put a lot more self importance by putting their faces on camera).

You should try visiting Dingalan, Aurora. It's also the "Batanes of the East" because of the beautiful scenic view of the ocean that is similar to Batanes Island. There's a lot of view decks in Dingalan

Hi! This was filmed on August 22 and 23. The locals call this time of the month (July to Sept) the “mini-summer” due to the perfect and not-so-hot weather (and it’s not humid at all). It’s a recommended month to come here. But if you want to experience the coldest month here, then January is the month to go to. 😃

You know, I have been wondering why not a lot of Pinoys are going to Batanes. I checked to find flights and my goodness me. I'd rather go to Taiwan, Japan or other SEA countries! The price of each flights are ridiculously expensive! So no wonder why anyone would just go abroad instead.
But I wish someday, I'll be able to get there. It's a perfect environment for retirement.

Yes, it's advisable to bring more cash here. Credit cards are not accepted, and few have Gcash. They have Landbank and PNBs here. I think those two are the only ATMs and banks here.
