    Okay now show what a genuine nightmare it is to weight paint a rigify rig.

      Its not really a rigify probably as much as it is a wait paint issue

      It's just an issue with making any rig, not just rigify.

      I could give some tips of anyone is interested.
      I'm guessing people are having issues with stuff like the mouth and eyes, and what i do is pose bone i am weight painting for.
      So if i am doing the mouth i will pose the mouth bone as if it were open a little and as i weight paint the mouth will open and allow me to do the inside of the mouth as i paint, and i can go back and adjust the bone if i opened it too much, but that is how i do it without even having ti hide any of the mesh like some tutorials i have seen.

      Only focus on what you currently need. Google how to do certain actions in a faster or easier way. That's how you'll discover more tools and tricks along the way. But start by ignoring the things that you don't know.

    Oh wait, did they update riggify? When I worked with it, you needed to assign and color each bone manually so I switched to ARP, but this is amazing

    • @Soliddimension3D
      @Soliddimension3D 6 місяців тому +9

      Yeah you can assign weights automatically, however with rigify you’ll probably have to go through and manually fix them one by one

    • @handkc12
      @handkc12 6 місяців тому

      @@Soliddimension3D I haven't worked with Riggify in a long time is it that much worse than ARP? Or is it just weight painting in blender that's an issue?

    • @Soliddimension3D
      @Soliddimension3D 6 місяців тому

      Depends what you define as worse. What do you look for when comparing the rigging techniques? @@handkc12

    • @handkc12
      @handkc12 6 місяців тому +2

      @@Soliddimension3D Not much tbh, as long as it works the reason why I switched to ARP is because i couldn't bother coloring and grouping every bone. And I loved ARP the moment I used it because it was extremely easy to use along with the fact that editing the handles felt much more straightforward at... was it two years ago or so? Does Riggify have more strengths compared to ARP? I can switch back. My first rig was with Riggify. It was this Dinosaur Bee (Don't question me) I created.

    • @Soliddimension3D
      @Soliddimension3D 6 місяців тому +2

      A dinosaur bee sounds pretty cool! Yeah so as you've mentioned the key reason for the switch was for QoL improvements/speed. And I think on the surface ARP is just better in all those areas. However if rigging is something you're going to do a lot of, It might be worth diving deep into riggify as your time and effort will be rewarded.

    • @harpoonlobotomy

      You'll need to parent each mesh to the armature, and add the Armature modifier to each mesh if you want to keep the parts separate. If you want to rejoin them, ctrl+J or applied booleans and weld modifier would work with some cleanup.
