Hello Everyone! Just a quick message to say that we think there might be some skulduggery going on in the comments section with someone using our profile picture, pretending to be us and asking you to message them. It's not really us, accept no imitations! We hope you're having an excellent weekend and thanks so much for taking the time to watch our videos. Vic & Jo x
22:28 that edit, from the various maps down to Jo’s hand on her phone - 👍🏼 loved it, brilliantly effective. Well, it tweaked my brain anyway; produced some “good” brain chemistry. I had to go back and watch it a few more times. 🙂🐿🌈❤️ P.s wasn’t that security guard such a lovely chap.
I admire you Jo, for taking the boat back into that deep lock!after being grounded. Well done! Scary! I see that William still wants his toes to be out! So cute!
I don't know why this popped up, but i lived in stoke for 15 years (im from ireland) and something i loved was walking down past Middleport pottery. And back around to Festival Park. I salute your life. I wish you all the best.
I’m sorry to hear you’ve all been ill. That was really good of Neil to get some diesel for you. Belated Happy Birthday William, it looks like you had fun with your family. A really lovely vlog, take care you 3, lots of love. xxxx
There is no way William is 1 year old, it was just a few months ago he came on to the stage of life. Right? LOL it's just crazy it's been a year. Happy Birthday William!
Glad yo You are all on the mend and happy first birthday to my precious little William who I like watching on this show you’re such a wonderful family God bless you🎉
What fantastic parents you both are so laid back and taking everything in your stride hope you all are getting back to good health soon all the best 👍 xxx
The little fellow is growing fast. I’ve escaped Covid so far. I’m still recovering from having a tree fall on me. I hope it leaves me alone for a few more months. Always enjoy your videos. Thank you for doing them.
I much appreciate every bit of effort and time it went into filming and editing so that this could be available! It’s a treat to see where y’all go and what you do when you’re there and to learn about it as much as you’re able to share. You’re quite the family! Knowing that you made it through Covid and are recovering gives me some peace of mind and makes my heart feel much better than it did when I first realized y’all had been struck by that crap. I’m proud to be one of your followers here and a Patreon. See y’all next time!
That was a wonderful video. William looked like he was having the time of his life in the play soft place. And loved the historical information about how bottle kilns worked.
Hi guys, just catching up on all your videos and WOW...I'd luv to see more like this, fascinating history with superb filming & production, big well done 👍
Happy belated birthday 🎉🎉to William 🥳🥳🥳 . Sorry to hear you got the dreaded Covid. Glad you are on the mend. Hopefully you can rest and give your bodies time to recover. Thank you the hard work you put into this video.
I don’t know if they are available there but when our kids were that age we found a little seat that just latched over the edge of the table and the child’s weight plus the chair design made it stay tight against the table so the child couldn’t fall or get hurt. Then we could take their toys, foods, our silverware, whatever did the trick to keep them happy, since they were sitting up with us they were satisfied. They are so curious and need to experience so much at this age. He’s such a cutie, maybe you could try him with tights to keep his feet covered🤣😂🤣.
Welcome to Stoke you three, it's nice to have you with us, we're a friendly bunch for the most part. However, just to satisfy my pedantry, can I point out they are called Bottle Ovens rather than Bottle Kilns (well done Jo). There is a little bit more info on one of my videos if anyone is interested, my Grandfather was a placer and yes, he did have a rolled up sock under his hat 🤣 Happy to buy you all lunch next time you pass though. Good luck and thanks for the entertainment. See you soon 👍👋
Hi all, absolutely great video, despite the dreaded lurgy. You were obviously feeling the strain of doing the locks post covid but still managed to bounce back in your inimitable style. You produced a wonderful insight into the potteries themselves and the great time that you all had looking around the old places. Hope that you are feeling better, take care, Geoff and Chris
Great to see you back, hope you are all recovering from covid. As a matter of interest have you had all your anti COVID jabs. The industrial aspect of your video is spot on luv it. Having worked at a rail stock refurbishment factory, riveting and all that, it's great to see an interest in the old school ways. Get well soon and hopefully one day will see you on the Chesterfield canal.
This was a very enjoyable episode. I am a senior in the middle of the US and it is through the narrow boats that i get to see life in the UK. Can you do a video on your cooker? I think you did one some time ago but couldn't find. Thanks.
Great vlog guys and hope you have recovered from covid. Stoke used to be called "Smoke on Stench", but times have changed and it's good to see that they have managed to retain a blend of new and old character there.
What a joy to watch William growing up! He is just so sweet. I'm so sorry you were ill with Covid. We had it, too. It had to be difficult taking care of a baby when you are so sick. We feel as if you are all part of our family now. Did you ever get the email about the recipes? I just wondered if I addressed it correctly. We look forward to your videos each week! They cheer us up. We just went through a terrible hurricane and we are still waiting for repairs to our house. What a mess! We are thankful we still have our home. It could have been much worse for us. Take care of each other!!! Sending warm, Florida hugs, Sue Smith
Such a wonderful episode. Having Covid was obviously quite an exhausting experience for each of you. I am so pleased you are on the mend. I was a student in Stoke and have such fond memories of the 5 towns and the wonderful characterful people. Stoke has such a wonderful sense of place and sitting now watching this here in northern Thailand brings back so many memories from over half a century ago. I do hope your health returns quickly and you can feel that life is good as you take us along. Thank you so much. All the best.
That is so cool to see all the old buildings and the history of these towns.😊 William is so cute and it will get a bit easier when he is walking. Maybe get him a fold up wagon. They are so handy when your moving around.
Great vid. We've gone past pottery mooring so many times but not stopped, we're moving Marina's next year so will make a point to do so. Keep up the good work. Also thanks for the selfie, made our two week hols even better. 👍
Thank you for taking the time to do this video when you haven't been well.vic you still sound a bit throaty. Both take care. you are such a lovely family. Belated birthday wishes to William.big boy now.its passed so quickly the last 12 months. Glad you had a knight in shining armour re your diesel.there are such great people everywhere.a real blessing when you were struggling. Take care.xxx
Happy birthday to young William :) I hope you’re all feeling better and not overdoing things, recovery seems to go better if you take it easy for a week or so. That pottery you’re moored by looks fascinating, cheers Deb.
Thank you, thank you for stopping at Stoke! I grew up in East Liverpool, Ohio which was the sister city to Stoke and was once known as the Pottery Capital of the World. The bottle kilns are no longer there and all but one pottery closed down. Sadly my hometown is in really rough shape and hard to see when I’ve visited. This gave me a good view of what EL must have looked like - always wish I could be transported back for one day to see the town before there was a me. Love your family and vlogs. Be careful of the Covid backlash so many get.
So sorry youns had covid, I've had it also,7 days in hospital. I feel sorry for anyone who has to work. Bless youns all. Hi william you sweety pie. Wish your mother had been there to help you. Not everyone knows how it feels to have that covid crap. Anyways you kids get well. Thanks to the Neighbors who helped out. May God bless youns always.
if you weren't in too much of a rush , the cauldon canal that is accessed off the etruria locks in stoke is a lovely branch of canal that takes you to the town of leek, i live along the canal in a village called endon, beautiful countryside area
First and foremost, good to see your health is improving. Gives us a little insight as to why your break was needed. A belated Happy Birthday to William. I know I can't be the only who hopes when he start talking he picks up Jo's accent (sorry Vic) Another great vlog , thank you for bringing us along.
Happy Birthday to William! 💚💜 Glad you are feeling better! I love the Potteries such a fab place to visit, can't wait for your tunnel video 😁 Take care guys.
I am so glad all are feeling better; so scary when the baby gets sick. Thank you for another great video; I love seeing all the new towns and getting a bit of history as well. xoxo's Sandie😊
Thanks once again guys. We just love you 3. Hope you shake off your illness which you will. We northern folk are tough and resilient. Look forward to your next Vlog. Stay safe. Xxx
Love the video of Middleport Pottery. We were moored up there the end of September. Very interesting to to tour the factory to see how the old methods are being used to make incredible pottery. I hope you had a chance to go to OatBakers in Longport. It’s just a few minutes walk up the hill after you cross the canal. Jana Greitane and her partner Andrew make the tastiest filled oatcakes. I bought a couple of dozen to use on our boat. They make a massive 24 inch oatcake stuffed with a ton of ingredients, if you are really starving.
So sorry to hear you all got sick. Hope you are feeling better now. Happy Birthday to William. How has it been a year? Thank you for sharing and stay well and safe travels!
Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY William. It is so hard for me to believe he is already one year old. Time sure flies when you're having fun. Thanks so much for videoing your trips to places on the land. It gives me a chance to see a country I will never be able to visit. I wish William and both of you another wonderful year ahead. Have a Blessed day.
Sorry you havent been feeling well. We could see Vic wasn't his usual cheery self at the start of the vlog. Take care and rest up. Happy birthday to William xxx
Stoke is a lovely place (perhaps contrary to initial appearances). The 2021 film 'The Colour Room' is set in the Potteries. It's a biopic of pottery designer Clarice Cliff. It's on NowTV at the moment. Some of it was filmed at Middleport, as well as the Gladstone pottery. Good for an Autumn afternoon watch.
Good to see the roots of the Industrial Revolution and a good place to moor. In a few years William can help with the locks. He's quite the handsome guy.
I’m so sorry that all 3 of you were so unwell, but, the rest of your vlog was amazing. I loved your visit to the pottery and rate this vlog amongst the best. William is so cute and I loved his singing, which shows he’s really beginning to make himself understood. Happy first birthday William 🎉

I just received one. Bloody scamology! I will ignore it. Keep safe🙂
I’ve got one and totally ignored it, didn’t seem like something you would do. Thanks for the heads up ❤️
I got one... reported it straightaway guys!! 😘
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but that pub @ barleston was Neil Morrissey's pub the Plume of Feathers. Well worth a visit if you back through!
@@friskyfrogs4747 had a few meals there, gorgeous food!

I live in stoke on trent and it’s nice to see someone show the good things about our town instead of the negative, thanks x
I live in Nottingham now but I'm a born and bred Stokie. I concur, there is a lot of good about Stoke, especially the people.

here here
Stoke is a clay/mud hole. But I love it, it feels like home, it feels my family are there.
That has to be the King of industrial mooring spots!
I don't know why this popped up, but i lived in stoke for 15 years (im from ireland) and something i loved was walking down past Middleport pottery. And back around to Festival Park. I salute your life. I wish you all the best.
Love reading all the comments today…WE have a great community here.
I really appreciate that you take the time to talk about the sights you pass by and the towns you visit.
Nice to see and hear about your journey and William's 1st BD, plus getting over COVID. Well done. A Brit / Aussie watching from Melbourne Australia.
Great Video - Really Enjoyable to watch and see little William and Vic & Jo on the Narrowboat - Keep Safe & Well Vic & Jo!

Kudos to Neil 🎉👍
Been watching you guys for a while... finally my financial situation allows me to be a patron :) Happy to be aboard! :)
I'm actually from Stoke-on-Trent near the harecastle tunnel watching this bought back memories of walking those paths as a child
I'm glad you got through Stoke unscathed🙂
There is no way William is 1 year old, it was just a few months ago he came on to the stage of life. Right? LOL it's just crazy it's been a year. Happy Birthday William!

Hi guys, just catching up on all your videos and WOW...I'd luv to see more like this, fascinating history with superb filming & production, big well done 👍
The flowers at 7 minutes in were planted by the brownies. My partner is the brown owl and I hummed all the compost up there!
In my favourite Lemon Cake recipes I save some of the batter and uncooked use it as cake filling. It's delicious.
Belated 1st Birthday Wishes William!
Hope you all recover back to full health very soon. That was a very enjoyable video this week!
Happy belated birthday 🎉🎉to William 🥳🥳🥳 . Sorry to hear you got the dreaded Covid. Glad you are on the mend. Hopefully you can rest and give your bodies time to recover. Thank you the hard work you put into this video.
Back in the Game 👍🤞👍
So glad you got to Middleport/Burleigh!! So cool.
Thank you 😊
The old dolphin boat yard you passed there, was once owned by my dad, and where our narrowboat hols started from back in the 60s :)

I'm sorry william I forgot to say Happy birthday 🎂🥳🎉🎈🎁 God bless youns.
