Absolutely THE VERY best cover of this song I've ever heard. So close to the original 1969 Rolling Stones version as to be almost indistinguishable. I grew up with this material. Thanks so much franbanish.

Regarding the vocals, I didn't wanna imitate Mick...not my wheelhouse obviously, so I just sang a couple takes and went with the second take, off the cuff, then stacked vocals. Sang the song. On Beatles stuff, or Bowie, I can slightly tilt into their resonance and sound a lot like them if I want to, without trying too hard. With Jagger, I didn't wanna go there ; o

Hey thanks Link Hatchet! I love Creedence! FYI: I jammed with John Fogerty in 1997 at his rehearsal space as he started rehearsals for the Blue Moon Swamp tour. It blew my mind! But he had already booked Johnny Lee Schell for second guitar. I'll never forget when he started Fortunate Son and sang it right to me from 6 feet away! I was playing slide on a '63 Danelectro and that was the only thing that kept me from fainting. LOL. There is indeed a CCR in the pipeline!

One of the VERY BEST covers I have ever heard. I was 16 when the Stones recorded this. And I didn't really like their version. Your version is AWESOM! Great drums, guitar, and damn fine singing!
Nice! You're a better singer than Mick Jagger. I can see why your mother confiscated it. "I laid a divorcee in New York City" is not quite appropriate for a six-year-old.
