There was a time when I was inactive and I thought I would never return to the Church. I was drinking beer and looking at UA-cam when I stumbled across the Choir. I listened to a few songs and then, this particular song. It wasn't this video but the same song. I listened and read the lyrics for a while and then suddenly, I felt the Spirit so strong I just burst into tears. I plead for forgiveness for forgetting about His love for me and what He did for me. I was reactivated soon after and I will never leave again.
I was definitely on that boat of being inactive even having being the son of Bishop and Grandson of a Stake President.. At some of the darkest days and heavy beign drinking I always found myself coming across videos of the MTChoir or GC talk from the Leaders and would ball my eyes out knowing how far I strayed away from the gospel.. Now back in church fully and will never go back to what made my heart and soul depressed yarning for that light and just knowing that it was never too late to come back..
This was my mother's favorite song. Page 193 in Hymns. She passed away in 2017. She mattered, & still matters. She is an angel of God & I love her with all of my heart. She told me once, she saw God in every one's eyes, & that she never wanted to let anyone down, because she never wanted to let God down. She gave and gave and reminds me of Christ in her constant love & devotion to nearly everyone she ever met. I love you, Mom. Thank you for being you. Thank you for existing. Thank you for being my mom. Thank you for teaching me to be giving like Christ in my actions & my attitude. I keep trying, everyday...it's all I can do. Thank you for loving God, Humankind, Country, & Universe, so very much. I still feel your love, mommas. Thank God for you.
Sometimes, one hymn has more power than a thousand sermons. There is nothing like a powerful hymn that reminds you of the love the Lord has for you and strengthens your resolve to keep your covenants that you have made with Him.
I don't go to church anymore, but I pray twice a day and felt the need to listen to this song and found it on UA-cam. I felt the spirit straight away. Love you brother Jesus, Terbanacle choir and UA-cam!
This was a hymn my late husband had sung at his baptism. This was him at the time, standing all amazed. Heavenly Father’s plan had evolved so quickly in front of our eyes, we both stood so amazed. In December, we had reconnected after a 15 year gap in our friendship. The following January, he decided to be baptized, mean while, we had decided to be married. I wasn’t going to be married unless he (whom ever the he was) was a member in good standing. This was a new stand of strength in the Lord for me. I’d been baptized 4 years earlier, as had my teenage daughters, separately but together. Sparing a few details, we were engaged the 19 of January and he was baptized the 23 rd of February. During that time we were going to two Sacrament meetings a Sunday, together in our respective Wards. What a wonderful time for us. The blessings given us throughout this time and since have been awe inspiring. In our amazement, of the brightening of our paths, friends had to tell us, this is ok. Essentially, we were being blessed for following the Gospel. Let me add one other detail….My husband had been in a long term relationship which broke off about 3 years before I called him that December. Now, he was a 44 year old bachelor, marrying a woman with three teenage daughters. Talk about jumping in with both feet. When Heavenly Father has the drivers wheel, ya better hang on and enjoy the ride. 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏻🦋👍
I was a Broadcaster (Talk Radio) in Salt Lake in the middle 80's. I would go to Temple Square as often as I could to listen to the Choir practice. The music is touching, and I loved the sound that came out of the Tabernacle. I am not LDS, and no, I have never had the Missionaries in my Home. Even we atheist are moved by the music and lyrics. Name withheld - I was on KTLK for 5 years. Quiet controversial, but never one to Bash the LDS Church. I moved on and took a Syndicated Talk Show out of Houston, Texas - I will always miss my visits to Temple Square. My four years in Salt Lake will always be close to my heart. Thank you for the Memories LDS Members. (Bob Houston)
Yes there’s something so overwhelming about approaching the doors of the tabernacle and the sound of the choir (and now orchestra) greeting you and then entering to be enveloped by it. I’m in Kansas & have managed to be at Temple Square to observe two of the rehearsals. Best feeling ever (outside of performing with a choir in a cathedral). I understand what you are talking about!❤️
This hymn was instrumental when I joined the true Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 23 years ago, it touched and pierced my heart and humbled me no end. I am so grateful for Jesus who died for me, and rescued a soul so rebellious and proud as mine... so that I (we all, actually) will live forever. Is anything in this world more precious than our own salvation through Him, who is mighty to save??? I don't think so! xxx
I can’t get through this song without out sobbing great tears. Hearing the choir sing it is like listening to the hosts of heaven. I just want to crumble to my knees in praise when I sing or hear this song
One of favourite hymns! Nothing is sweeter than the love that Jesus has for us, and the peace and joy that is brings to my soul!! The Church is true my brothers and sisters!
I can't get through this song without shedding tears. It swells my heart with a powerful testimony of the love of Jesus for us and all he suffered for us as he loves us so much. I owe him everything. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️. There are many of our hymns that bring tears and great emotions where the spirit burns brightly within me, but not more than this one to me. My very favorite from a little child.
when i was on my missión, i started to read the Hymns like scriptures, and after playing this hymn in one sacrament meeting i felt the spirit so much that i was about to cry, then i searched for this song sang by the mormon tabernacle choir but i couldn't find it. and then after i searched a lot, in the April 2014 conference at Sunday afternoon session i heard it and i knew that all my prayers were answer at this moment.
I am to start BIBLE study, and this was suggested I listen to this BEAUTIFUL hymn, so beautifully sung, My LORD NY MY GOD LOVES ME, I PRAY THAT I WONT FEEL LOST AS I DO I PRAY THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES UPON ME AND FILLS ME I REALLY NEED HIM, MY HUSBAND PASSED AWAY LAST APRIL ITS BEEN SO VERY HARD IM PRAYING TO FIND JESUS AND BE LIVING IN PEACE AND TO FIND PURPOSE AGAIN TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE WHILE TAKING CARE OF MY SOECIAL NEEDS SON NICK, WE HAVE A NEW LIFE WITHOUT MY DEAR HUSBAND SCOTT , I PRAY OUE LORD SHOWS ME WHAT TO DO. GOD BLESS EVERYONE TO. PRAYERFULLY, PATTI
I love coming to see the comments on these videos because there are so many sweet stories and testimonies that people share and it just makes me happy to know that we are all in this together.
Sunday is the most sacred day of the world. I love it, i like going to the church every sunday, i feel not tired, i feel very blessed because i'm on our father's house heavenly father.
do you know you can have that feeling everyday? Why not make sunday everyday? Make every day a holy day and every moment a sunday....it is possible and just think how much more happy and holier you would be? Smilez!!!
@@trinamakaafi3092 Saturday is the day of holiness and the day we should rest. When we change the day, he meant for resting, Saturday, there will be the second coming of Christ. The Catholic religion changed it from Saturday to Sunday.
I cannot help but tear up during the a cappella portion of this hymn. How grateful I am to people taking time to help me feel the Spirit, someone they dont know or that they have never met. Thank you
Hymn # 193, "I Stand All Amazed" has always been one of my favorite hymns. I just love it when we sing it in Sacrament, sadly, not often enough for me, so I come here to listen to it as often as I like, or play it on the Organ, but my voice just isn't what it used to be... This was April 2014, just 1 year ago from this past Saturday & Sundays' 185th bi-annual General Conference... "We Thank The Oh God, For A Prophet"
Out of all comment sections on youtube, you can always find peace here and by listening to this song you can really feel the love he has for all of us and know that His perfect and divine love is unchanging.
I love this Choir - they are the Best - Bar - None, even though I am not an LDS, I really appreciate all the hours of rehearsals to bring us all Angelic hymns. Love you all guys.
Anytime this song is sang at sacrament meeting, I cry I don’t know why but the words are really touching Indeed I marvel to know He will die for a sinner like me
I am back 2 years later and still so moved by this hymn. The 3rd verse moves me deeply. The organist comes in so beautifully to build the song! Music....what a teacher!
