It's absolutely right that voters should have to prove their eligibility and personally I'd ban postal voting except for those overseas and those with health issues. There have been too many examples of voter fraud and ballot-stuffing, almost always by the Labour Party.
Most democratic nations such as in my part of the U.K., ( Northern Ireland) require voters to produce photographic identity at the polling stations before being allowed to vote. It is an insult to the intelligence of the British people to expect them to believe that there are citizens who are too stupid to fill out a simple application form for a voting identity card. Are you seriously suggesting that despite our highly regarded education system there are people who cannot read or write? All U.K., citizens who are within the legal age category are entitled to vote.
Voting registration is not a problem - If you are old enough to vote and you cannot organize the identity required you shouldn't be able to vote - the voting requirements are too low.
They are not banned. They have to get off your backside and get an identity card from their local council which won't cost you loads of money. If you really care about your vote and by the way you don't have to vote, but you still should vote, take some responsibility for goodness sake.
What ethnic group of people cannot fill out a simple application form for a voting card? This type of mischievous troublemaker will multiply as the election draws nearer. There will be trouble at the polling stations and on the streets ;- courtesy of our woke politicians.
I am 23 and do not have any form of ID such as passport, driving license ect. I cannot vote now, when in the past I could simply by bringing a poll card delivered to my residence and I think something like a peice of paper with my name/address to cross match it.
These people being disenfranchised. Are they still going to be taxed? No Taxation without Representation brought about a revolution if I have my history correct.
It is incorrect to state that passports will need to be renewed. The guidance from the Electoral Commission states that “expired documents can be used as accepted photographic ID at the polling station as long as the photograph is still a good likeness of the elector”.
@@prof_mims and that is particularly true for the young. When I got a new passport in 2021, the only thing that had changed was the colour of my hair but when my son got a new passport when he was 24, he was barely recognisable from the picture in his old one.
Good post, tell your mates. The future belongs to young people you are the future so make sure you’re armed with all the info you need to vote. Don’t let those in power dissuade you from apathy. That’s exactly what they want!
Many under 25 get a provisional driving licence so they can buy a drink, you're not complaining about the loss of liberty with that form of photo id are you.
No Prime Minister was ever elected. To say that any prime minister has been elected by voters shows a deep misunderstanding of our parliamentary system.
Not so in general elections. Yes in local elections, you can be registered in two places, but you have to select one as your primary residence, and you can only vote in referenda and elections on the basis of the address you select as primary.
What are you talking about. Who is being banned. It doesn't matter how rich or poor you are. If you are old enough to vote then you have a right to vote. If you have no ID apply for a voting card online.

Last time I registered to vote in the Uk I had to prove my identity and place of residence.
General Election 1st time but most especially Labour voters use postal votes
smkh And so you should. I was born and bred here and I have to prove my identity so what is your problem?
@@lasttango7522 so was I and I think it’s absolutely correct
This is wrong. Had to show it last year. And they've been advertising it ad nauseum in UA-cam for ages.
You can get one for free online. It took me 5 minutes to fill out the form via my smartphone.
Don'5t worry you'll be able to vote for the Rwandan camp master.
Don't worry your labour friends will be elected
IF... You are unable to provide a valid I.D. should you have the right to vote.
Don't you think it is interesting that this video pops up just around the time that they are talking about voter suppression in the usa?

The thing is many don’t know about this option, many don’t even know ID is a requirement to vote

Seeing as young people are more likely to have some form of ID so they can get served in a pub I don't see there is a problem.
ID requirements will affect those from low income households not really young people in general

No Taxation without Representation brought about a revolution if I have my history correct.
Nobody is being disenfranchised.
All that's required is an ID and the will to get off their butt and apply for one

That is correct but whether or not your ID still looks like you is somewhat subjective and would still require in some instances renewal of ID
