With the second round next week, the Rally is now within touching distance of power for the first time. It hopes to be running the country during the Paris Olympics this summer.

That’s so incorrect. It’s a lack of education that makes people vote for those silly parties. If you study history that’s how fascism starts. If the majority feels neglected rather than feed into the fascists, get educated. These poor majority was silent when the same politicians that let them down went around raping and killing brown skinned people around the world. Then complain when the same people exploited by the politicians come to the the mother country to escape the mess your government created the “so called majority complains. The best thing to do is to get educated,, learn history and then you will be in better shape to make decisions rather than be a tool of people that don’t care about you except as a tool to get power.

Unfortunately, Le Pen is very far from being far-right, though the label itself obviously makes little sense.
It makes perfect sense when you realise the thinking behind the use of the phrase. It is designed to illicit an emotional response in people by conjuring images of not very nice blokes in Hugo Boss suits and kinky boots marching in to Poland and rounding up people to be sent for a complimentary shower. It used to work but that hand has been played to death and has lost any and all meaning.
She’s not all that different from her father, she just understands the need for political respectability, however false.
