    My first Turkeys ever this year - 7 Bourbon Red ... arrived yesterday at 2 days old. Kinda hard to believe they'll look like these guys in 6 months.

    Great videos! I want at least 4 of these turkeys but I may end up getting 8 when all is said and done but my only issue is the minimum requirement of ordering these turkeys at most hatcheries are 15.

      Excuse my mis-comment. Sorry. What I meant to say is that I've just ordered some chocolates for harvesting and breeding. Wonderful video. Thanks.

    Why don’t they have long beards

    • @fasteddie4145
      @fasteddie4145 6 років тому +1

      Most turkeys take two full years to develop a 4-5" beard.....Heritage turkeys are typically harvested at 28 Weeks (as opposed to 16 weeks for regular, commercial birds) These birds are at least 6 months away from any beard, let alone a long one.....

    Well, here I thought this was going to be informative. And then the lady went and said, "They sometimes have growth hormone..."
    You know, despite the fact that it's illegal in the US to raise any poultry with growth hormones. Sooo, onto a different video I go.

    Does anyone knowwho sells adult male & females sexed Bourbon Red Turkeys in U.S.A. , in Sept 23 - December 2018 ?. How much would they cost to be in the south , with shipping as pet's , anyone ?.

    • @karlaug4450
      @karlaug4450 6 років тому

      What do you say to ppl. , if they ask/asked you , " Do you sell adult's alive , & if so , how much would they cost ?.I live in the south .Is it really $ 8.00 a pound starting at 5-16 pounds , & mature turkey are 20 weeks ( 16 pounds for female , & males mature at 25 pounds ) ?.You don't want ppl. breeding many as they can or something ?.If you would like that , you wouldn't sell $ 8.00 a pound starting at 5 pounds is $ 40. .You would sell 14 Turkeys , being one as a male , the price being $ 23. each Turkey , instead of $ 40. since the winter feed may cost a lot " ? .
