Hell yeah bro love your mindset on not wanting to use PFAS based pans. I just came across darto pans the other week and ordered one. Super hyped to use it!! Cheers to good health

@@Fryn_Hayn Hey Fryn! Nice nice. Which size darto pan did you get? I find mine the 20cm alrdy so heavy, almost cast iron like haha.
Make sure you season it a few times and baby it at first cooking simple fatty stuff!
Are you coming from nonstick or did you use stainless steel?

I love the one piece construction, no rivets, no flush rivets, nothing to worry about but one piece of metal. De Buyer, Matfer, etc prices have gone up so much over just the handful of years. IMO at least 2x the price it was in 2018/19. I'll keep an eye on this brand for design updates

Yeah things are so darn expensive nowadays. But I guess if it lasts a life time, or so they say, I guess worth it? Hah
Which carbon steel pan brand are you rocking?

I have a 1939-1944 Griswold #9 cast iron skillet that I need to start using again. It has to be re-seasoned and just been procrastinating getting it done. Mine is much larger with a cooking surface at 25cm and weighs in at 2.2kg. If I remember about mine the metal was a better quality and thinner making it a bit lighter. Curious on the weight of yours.

Hey Russell! Wow 1944! They weren't joking when they say cast iron pans can last forever, not even a life time but legit forever. Haha
Hmm mine is quite heavy, I don't have a scale tho, but holding it in my hand it's quite heavy. Prob lighter than your 2.2kg cast iron tho, but I think it'll be challenging to cook with Esp since I'm coming from the world of stainless steel!
