Had a 1969 spit MKIV fitted with Dunstall exhaust...very fine twin , easy to ride.. Just to take care of the oil pressure and the status of the cranshaft bearing as usual that is more sensitive with the spitfire since it is overpowered vs other A65 range...
The forks and triple trees on this bike were stock for this frame. I would think triple trees that would accept 34 or 35mm tubes would be just fine. You can change out the frame bearing races to run a variety of triple trees such as Cerrani, Bator, etc. I believe Steadfast offers a lot of bearing conversions/updates for these bikes. Hope that is of help and thanks for checking out our video! Mayer Brothers mayerbrothers net
Thanks very much. This was a great build and a really fun ride. It is now enjoying life in Japan. Be sure to watch our website for more great old bikes! Mayer Brothers mayerbrothers net.
Single or dual carb? Always favoured Triumph Tiger( I had an 82 Tiger Trail) because it had big single carb- quicker than the Bonneville to 100 kmh . After that Bonny’s dual carb, high end performance setup would take over. What was the BSA equivalent of the Tiger?
Hey, Im not sure if you still respond to this vid but Ill ask anyway. Im thinking of getting a BSA fram off ebay for around 200 bucks. What front tree size works well with this frame? Im noob to motorcycles.
When bikes were bikes!!! A fantastic example. Great job.
Original Lightning Clubmans are as rare as rocking horse sh*t. Were rare in their day. Lovely.
A real beauty well done!!!
Had a 1965 lightning in 1966. Wish I still had it.

Hot damned what a silver fox, awsome bike...I think I'll let mine be coloured silver too!
Charging nicely.

une belle restauration d'un modèle devenu peu courant.

It is a dual carb set up. I would think they were pretty close to the same. Thanks for checking out our channel.
