Absolutely I'm American but raised on Canadian rock. Raised 13 miles from Saskatchewan border. Best rock is from Canada. Sad for majority of Americans who have never heard such great bands. In my opinion best rock in world. American but love Canada.

Randy and Burton were on CBC radio today talking about the early years. They busted their ass back in the 60's in Saskatchewan and Manitoba singing and playing for groups as small as 50 people. Amazing band

Already listened to Chiliwack's "My Girl." I LOVE the repeated sound of the "she's been gone gone gone she been gone so long" intro & verse...starting like that I had to like the rest of the song! Oh yeah, I'd forgotten somebody recommended Prism to me last year some time --they're great. On to Headpins.
Addition: Headpins was also very intriguing; I've got 3 new bands saved to my "listen to more of this!!" list. Thank you so much! Wish I could return the favor, but maybe sometime! Oh wait; Have you heard Ren? I just heard him the first time the other day, with "Hi Ren." Stylistically, not like the other bands we mentioned, but he's a heck of a talent & truly unique (but not Canadian).

This gives great memories at the beach with the ripped and suped up 1980's mini van with the glitter globe over the dash. You know how it was, with the party group, house speakers sticking out of the back, listening to this song dancing around the bon-fire. Girls with mini tops, and tanned legs. Plus of course, the mega coolers of beers waiting next to a tree. What a great song for those early memories of high school.

Haha..This was my uncle's favourite song. My dad always tells me about how when he first got his license they would play this on the radio and he would start singing as loud as he could and my uncle would just scream it and they're parties oh god... R.I.P

I sure do miss the 70s and 80s. The music today is not even the same. Sometimes I wish I could find a time machine and go back in time. Life was much easier and everyone enjoyed life! Is this your favorite song?

This was a very special someone to me's favorite song of all time. It's amazing, but not quite as amazing as she was. She disappeared out of my life three years ago and I still miss the hell out of her to this day. If you're reading this you know who you are and know I still, and will always have a special place in my heart for you.

Man, I used to love this song & I've seen them live a couple of times back in the day. It however has left me in complete shambles since 99 because I had a horrible disease that my survival only hinged upon my young age. I had to have an operation that was so painful when awakening that they gave me an epidural prior to the anesthetic. During the epidural, I was sitting on a gurney facing tons of knives, saws, & scary operational tools.....guess what song was playing??

I first heard this in Nov of 77. I had just gotten my very first tape recorder, thanks to my Mom. I was supposed to be using it to listen to audiobooks. But I was 12yo, and not about to obey. : )
I had a horrible recording setup. But what did I know. I was recording off a transistor radio onto a mono cassette recorder. I was in POWER MODE. To record with cassettes was so so very new to me. So there was Prism, there was Steve Miller, there was Fleetwood Mac, so much more, so much magic.
Thank you Mom. For $35, I could dream like never before.

Def, 70s were sex, drugs but lots of spacey rock . I just came across a current book, Strange Stars by Jason Heller, a non-fiction discussion about all the “sci-fi’ related rock music of 70s and how the genres of sci-fi (mostly Space) and rock combined in ways behind scenes that i never knew, sounds very cool ... i listened to an 2 hr interview with the author, Jason Heller, also a former DJ and his knowledge in this book is very impressive ... I cant wait to read, i think anyone who listened to 70s rock will love. One reviewer said, if you get the book, read with a set of earbuds& Spotify open on your phone ... Enjoy the trip ox

From Wiki...On March 6, 2011, Prism's "Spaceship Superstar" was chosen as the wake up song for the Space Shuttle Discovery crew members. This was a significant point in history as it was the last day that the crews of Discovery and the International Space Station were together before Discovery returned to Earth, in the last mission of Discovery.
    ................
Loved this song since I was a kid. And it still plays out like a movie in my head all these decades later. Seeing this video of just photos feels like its filling in the blanks. I know if i even had the skills and know how to cut a video. Itd take me years to even find what's been in my head for 40+ years now. And I doubt I'd ever be happy with the end product.
