"The 5 year LRs have aged" hasn't been a hot take since late 2020 tbh. As soon as Str UI and LR Jiren came out, people were already saying the 5 years got replaced. It's been a freezing cold take for a while.
They just suck.
Bro I was mad that I summoned for the 5th year LRs because their performance wasn't better than LRK&C in short or long events. This was the first time I've seen the community turn into Genshin players and ignore the facts
I literally broke my no summoning on yellow coin banner rule when STR UI dropped on global because I liked him more than the 5 year fusions and that's what I was saving for lmao. They started aging before they even came out on global if you think about it
But their coolness hasn't aged a day 😎

You know, as someone who didn't care much for him before, now he's easily taken AGL LR Gohan place for me as my "must have defensive unit" whenever I can put him on the team. Usually after a single super attack he tanks attacks fairly well (don't know about red zone, global player) but he has definitely been the key to beating many SBR, ESBR, and obviously is arguably the best unit for long events. And no, this isn't a hot take, I really don't understand why people don't like him
Honestly TEQ Gogeta's fusion requirement makes no sense. Even in the movie they were beaten like Truth's meat after a new Kale and Caulifla unit drop, so having them fuse at such high HP % is ass.
Cucked solely because of Str Vegito existing and being too good. They couldn't just let Gogeta's unit exist on it's own. Nope. Had to build the condition around Vegito's active to make a combo around using both together for some reason. And Gogeta losing the scouter/DR in half the time literally doesn't make sense. Wow, Fusion dance runs out fast. You're so clever Akatsuki. So funny. Great copy unit you made 1.5 years after the original.
Condition should be at 50% HP or below or at the 4th turn of battle

Don't forget he always says the word "power creep" and "aged" most of the time but he's right
Dokkan bosses and events need to be revamped in a way that effects how enemies take damage. Otherwise "lowers defense" effects from Super Attacks will always be usless. Changing that mechanic will buff and add value to so many units.

People acting like TEQ Ultimate Gohan isn't good. He's actually one of the best defensive units in the game at 55%. Hell, my one dupe Gohan gets ridiculous fast. And if you keep him on rotation, his attack stacking actually does make a difference- at the end of LGE, I transformed him- 8 million attack Stat, casually. Not great that you have to wait that long to get him a good attack Stat, but the fact that he can hit that level of attack Stat with his defense, he is a very good unit still.

Nah pure sayians still way too stacked super vegeta with guranteed stun, lr ssj4s with their like 10 mil atk stats and 500k def, lr ui goku, lr teq gogeta and str vegito, lr kaioken goku and great ape vegeta, there’s just too many option on pure sayians and those units hit like twice as hard as any unit on the ginyu team
@@kylerbrown3202 great ape vegeta wouldn’t get his entrance animation and he doesn’t work great with any of the options you just mentioned. That said, everyone there is relying on getting super attacks in and are ki reliant. The goat force simply just doesn’t care lol they’ll shut down any hope of the enemy supering or just outright eat the damage for breakfast 😂 pure saiyans will beat it faster, sure, but the chad force would no item it a LOT easier
It feels wrong to call a unit bad, simply because power-creep overtook them. I think units should be judged based on two things: How good they were on release, and HOW LONG they were useful. STR Cooler gets his organs ripped out in Red Zone, but it's hardly fair to judge him as "bad" just because the events got harder. There needs to be a way of wording it... like, once-great units can be called "Aged", and always-bad units can be legitimately "Bad".
Release and how long they were useful? Then STR Gogeta would be the strongest unit of all time
I 100% agree. Lets not forget when he was doing 4 million attack stats and guaranteed crits against 75% of the game on release. Calling him "bad" is criminal, "aged" is a much better word to use here.

One thing I want to say is that with namek goku as long as he can triple super(which is pretty common in slot 2-3 for me at least) his defense sky rockets and most of the first phases in red zone can give you time to stack and he usually won’t take much damage so truth was definitely underrating the hell out of him saying he’s taking over 400k as I have been able to no item both broly and omega with namek goku on goku/gohans team and namek goku was out preforming most units(besides str gohan when he got out) so yeah I’m tired of namek goku slander

Once Namek Goku gets his 200% leader hell be goated. He still has yet to fail me, and even though his defense can be kinda poop, he still carried my Saviors SBR run. Quite underrated.
I honestly wish they would have given gogeta like 40 percent damage reduction at base like his base form

And when I say they were best in game I also mean they were like, some of the most hyped units of all time it’s just insane how the third year LRs were more usable than the fifth year LRs after 6 months of the fifth release
They felt wonky at release they hit hard but they needed so long to build I never liked their design from day one and they aged by WW celebration
3rd year lrs were never better then 5 yr lrs💀 after eza definitely but before I’d argue teq vegito and str gogeta were like 3x as better offensively and better defensively with their chance to dodge and def raise on super
@@kylerbrown3202 man you’re totally out to lunch. The 3rd year Lrs turn one before eza had 130k-160k defence turn one with 2.5-3m attack stats. The 5 year Lrs can’t do those defensive numbers until after the 4th turn and even then it’s iffy. The 5th year Lrs have always been a huge miss defensively.
@@kylerbrown3202 also until the 4th turn they struggle to hit over 2 million attack stat. By turn 5 they’re better.. however the 3 year lr also have the hp recovery on turn 5. I honestly can’t find much redeemable about the 5th year Lrs they were a bad design from day one with such beautiful animations it’s such a shame they wasted those animation on such terrible units. Int lr rose is another wasted potential
@@SINE382 they do not hit 2 mil unless u have them at 55% and the 3 yr lrs at rainbow and yes they are better defensively id much rather have 90k defense with a 50% chance to dodge then just 100k raw defense and vegito launches a guranteed super while gogeta is effective against all types so even if in some scenario the 3rd yr lrs were slightly better defensively the blue fusions would be outputting like 3x more dmg

I think a "versus" mode where you both do the same stage at the same time live, and then the fastest one wins would be cool. Just give people a matchmaking button based on their team strength / level and let them do runs against each other. Wouldn't really harm anything about the game because both players are still playing against the AI and not really each other. We already do that in the form of a leader board, it would just be live and more exciting. Maybe a small reward to give people something to grind for those of us who have literally no content left. You could have the game go split screen but horizontally, where you can both see each others orbs like how its set up on multistreams.

Sounds good till you realize that a decent % of Dokkan players have p slow phones and so they'd be losing for literally just having a worse phone than someone (the animations on better phones are a lot faster)

Here’s a hot take: 55% units can’t cut it in difficult content anymore. Truth always says that once you pull a unit (If you’re F2P) you should stop summoning, but until you get a couple dupes that unit is gonna get clapped in red zone anyway, meaning you might as well not have them. If you’re going to summon for a unit, you gotta go for dupes if you intend on using them in red zone.

Namek Goku is Becoming Overhated
3:58 I'd say vegitos are probably strong because his mechanics/gimmicks work better for most content(Additionals, Counter > SE, Crits, Dodge).
Also Gogetas are more of 1 hit kill time design while Vegitos are beating them down with multiple attacks and/or counter which I think just ages better cause those times of units are generally get to higher defensive stats.

The 4th years EZAing was not good overall. It gimped the 3 years and made them worse overall and made it so DF LR aren’t spread out by release allowing them to age better. It also makes it so the teams won’t age as well than they would have if they EZAed a year later.
It’s annoying because I completely agree with this but then I always have to remember that eventually this game is going to shut down, and if we keep going at the pace that we’re used to a lot of classic units that we’d want to see eza’d won’t see the light of day before the servers shut down

I’m convinced people who bash LR Nameku and FP Frieza don’t have either units and mimic what others say. They are damn near flawless units and they tank better than 95% of the units in the game and they also hit very hard. There’s literally nothing bad about them besides Nameku not being on a 200% leader skill yet and FP Frieza not having more viable support units. They aged perfectly and nobody can convince me otherwise.

I think units that can deal with super attack gonna age well, red zone can one shot any high defence unit unless units have:
Foresee super attack, DMG Reduction, dodge, guard and nullify super attack
Hot take I saw earlier today: Red Zone isn't a standard. That person saidthat the god event was used as a standard when it was released only to not get any new stages added to it. They argued that the same thing is gonna happen to red zone thus using it as a standard was a bad idea.
I disagree cause the god of destruction event quite literally limited itself with its own name while red zone could always get updated and the name would still make sense

Namek goku has a actually been slandered so badly by the community. Use him properly and he’s insane and he’s capable of getting over 100k extra defense every turn. Just wait for that 200% lead which will give him more start of turn defense and improve his stacking and people will see just how good he is. He’s now one of the most underrated units in the game.
People just see his low sot numbers t1 and go crazy but don't realize 1st apperance post super he's at 250k def then goes up to 330k or so 2nd apperance

truth u should give phy gogeta full dodge, with 27 dodge he’ll be at 30%+(70%x27%)= 48.9% chance to dodge (based on probability, i can explain the math if needed) and for 3 turns after transformation he’ll be at 50% + (50%x27%) = 63.5% chance to dodge. u might want to consider this to make him feel safer since his defence is still garbage even after double supering and since u wont be running him against broly regardless

Something a lot of people forget about the 5 year fusions is that they weren't good day 1. LGE was the hardest event ALONG WITH sbr. They were god in LGE which even at the time 300 units were and eh in sbr.
I would like to see truth rank the typings based on OSTs. It's hard to say what order I'd go in. Str would definitely be on top though still.
Truth: the year 7 LRs are the most successful and well done.
I would like to point out that SSJ4 Gogeta is the lead of Fused Fighters as one of his two leading categories, but does not have the link. I have him on my JP main and constantly use him, but I consistently find myself missing his 24 ki by 2 ki on rotations where if he had Fused Fighter it wouldn't be an issue. At first, it was noticeable but not big, but as time progresses and I use him more, it becomes far more noticeable how much the lack of Fused Fighter holds him back.

I guess my hot take is Int mv is a fun team to run, since i got him Ive used him over 1000 times and he has never disappointed plus the team i made with him is pure fun to use

@@cherryb2617 that's not the point. They are way older and have had more value for a longer time. Teq gohans turn 1 defense starts to age, while teq caulifla still dominated the God event last year.

I'm quick to complain about LR STR UI Goku, and his lack of dodging, but agl UI Goku is great, anyone who says he's bad is dumb.
I would love to see a "DaTruth Top 10 Favorite/Most Fun Units" vid. I think it would help a lot to understand Truth's point of view on some units

Truth the scouter being 5 turns on gogeta and 10 turns on vegito is cuz with the potato retcon #1 in super where the potara gave 1 hour fusion and the dance was 30 minutes meaning that the potara was twice as long as the dance so the scouter was twice as long for vegito than gogeta. And I know that they could have just done gogeta with 10 turns but I like that they had some inspiration from the anime and how things work

Hot take: I much better prefer units that have good defense but does absurd amounts of damage (ex. Phy SSJ3 Goku) than units that are defensive juggernauts (ex. Str Gohan).

He's sitting turn 1 with 140k defense lmao, no way in hell you're running him slot 1. Floating him off is good, so he doesn't get tagged, since that's instant death, even him taking 3-4 normals is a red flag. Lr Super 17 is indeed Over hated, I ran him as lead for my androids team in Androids extreme sbr and dominated surprisingly on his lead and a friend Android 13 with Eza agl 17, Str f2p eza Android 13, Phy eza 14 and 15, lr agl Eza androids, and Lr phy Androids and I beat it easily with lr super 17 tanking and dishing out over 3 mil attack stats at 55%. He has his uses and is good, needs better linking partner and then he'll be set
I hate Lr Super 17’s passive so much. He’s just so poorly constructed. He and other super 17s should have big bad bosses as well
The thing is , SBR/ESBR stage difficulty are balanced around the roster of the category. Androids had been pretty weak with no buffs for a long time so it's mostly a breeze already. Outside of that pond, when 17 has to compete against everyone , he's pretty average in everything. Like, LRs released years before him like Jiren, Boujack can do similar numbers or better. I genuinely think he could've been a lot better. Especially as a non BBB unit.

I still highly disagree with the redzone being a true test of a units strength. It’s ONE form of event, if the unit is good in most everything else then it’s a GOOD unit idk what else to say.
Except the Red Zone is also the _hardest_ form of event in the game. Only one item (two uses) are avaliable and it starts off with one or multiple powerful enemies, and it quickly ramps up in difficulty in the later phases in which the boss also starts to become immune to negative status effects while sometimes sealing, stunning, or locking your rotations. If a unit can withstand or even _crush_ the Red Zone, chances are they'll incinerate all the rest of the difficult content that they're able to be run in, lol.
So far there's no such thing as "a unit that's only good in Red Zone, but _isn't_ good in Super Battle Road, the Legendary Goku/Vegeta event, or the GoD event."
You wouldn't use Dokkan Events or Boss Rush to try and prove that a unit is good at this point. Those haven't been difficult at all even for new players since like 2016 or 2017. Same thing is happening with the rest of the hard content, just on a much slower scale. The toughest content is the bar - it's what the game's rapidly moving power creep is working towards taking down in the form of busted ass units and why it's such a big deal when we get garbage like Raditz. I don't see how that's a hot take.
@@gabeitches87 completely understand your points, but the way I see it is I’d wager that the majority of players either don’t have strong enough boxes or simply aren’t interested in these extreme butt ripping difficulty events (forget about red zone if ur f2p). Filling casual viewers heads that a unit is poo poo because they get destroyed in red zone is such a pointless mindset to me. I.e. int namek Goku is so “aged” and bad when in reality he’s a destructive force in literally every event that a casual player would be doing.

@@gengar5213 survey isn’t relevant, the trend that companies don’t always do exactly what’s in their surveys results is because they understand that nowhere near the actual number of players is responding to those surveys. Ofc the majority of the survey will be asking for hard events BECAUSE the majority of people taking the survey are hardcore players or players that actively keep up with the game all the time. Simple.

15:50 AGL Gohan's transformation condition is wayyyy worse than Gogeta. Gogeta's isn't great but you quite literally have to force Gohan to transform unlike Gogeta, where you can fuse in most of the games content (not red zone ofc)
You can get teq Gogeta to transform if you're also running the year 3s
7:07 Blue Kaioken Goku is defenetly by far the most overrated unit in the game. He was mid on release and people overhyped his active. Even the Blue Fusions are more overrated than Str Vegito.

I remembered Truth called K&C one of the worst releases last year. As someone who had two dupes in them I honestly thought that was weird they stack their defense extremely fast. They made multiple runs of Pure Saiyans ESBR pretty damn easy.

LR super 17 is a unit I really wanted when he came out to help with ssj4 ezas cuz I didn’t have teq exchange buu for the leader skill. I ended up beating it without those 2 and im no longer upset I don’t have him. Cool animations though for sure and he’s a character I like a lot.

That being said they share 5 of 7 links lol unfortunately no ki links but 2 ki would be the most they could share because Teq Red/Blue boys only have prepared for battle as a ki link. That honestly upset me more lol
I just run LR SSJ4s as the lead and friend, transform one so they link perfectly. Then move SSJ4 AGL Goku over to share 5 links and 2 ki with the LR Teq R/B boys. It's not the biggest inconvenience, es with their Ki mechanic. They may be good together with all floating orb changers. Maybe Teq Blue Vegeta, PHY Blue Goku and Teq EZA SSJ3 Goku as floaters lol Haven tried it yet but that might work.
