Yes, they were 200cc water cooled. My dad had one in the late 50's when I was a kid. The police officers that rode them were required to nod to senior officers instead of saluting whilst riding so were nicknamed "Noddies". The bikes became known as "Noddy bikes".
Yes, actually the third gen who had kick start instead of a handle fourth gear and som other upgrades. It's an ugly duckling, but so interresting! Opposit twin, side valves, and shaft drive. I want one....😊
So the instructor has good solid boots to protect his ankles and lower legs if he drop the bike. The girls have ordinary uniform shoes and stockings suited to working behind a desk. Something seems a bit off.
I simply have to disagree with you there. While it was obviously far less practical for the job in those days, British policewomen were actually much sexier in their old style uniforms than they are now, as the modern day equivalent looks far too masculine. Therefore, I think that the two young WPCs shown in this clip are actually very attractive.
the world was different then, and those velos were easy enough to ride, dont forget they had probably already done a few hundred miles of training, and not just on small motorcycles
The bikes did not have the water deflector/reinforcement plates in front of the seat.
Voiceover by John Steed ...?
'Mrs Peel, we're needed!' 😀

Police looked much smarter in those days. Some coppers look like real scruffs nowadays.
