    Any one remember the musically talented progeny in the Movie August Rush? Whenever I listen to YANNY I always remember the scene in that movie. Yanny sees music in every sound around him-hears music in every movement and he translates that onto a reality in front of you...

    Gypsy, you asked about Yanni's depression. In his autobiography, which I obtained from our local library, he was very candid about a profound depressive episode. Sorry, but I should have looked up the title, but am on way to work now, and you can easily obtain the info. I as a fan before, but after reading his book, I felt as if communicated his life story in a very personal way, and therefore, I am a fan for life.
    Hope this is what you were asking about.

  • @TheOwl54
    @TheOwl54 17 років тому

    Yes, he is an outstanding musician !
    I didn't read anything about his autobiography but I love his music since a long, long time.
    It's strange, but very often you can experience that artists, who are very dedicated & passionated in their music meet times of deep depressions & despair in their lives. Why ? Maybe, because their ability to perceive is developped to such a degree that they cannot stand all these horrible views life is showing them ?

    Great Artist/ Musician * and his orchestra. I love his work ... inspiring, magical, mystical, exciting, extraordinary ... I could go on and on about him and his music. Totally awesome ! I've experience his concerts and It's just a full of feelings and emotions ... WOW it takes you to a different level.

    Totally agree there swordmaster!! The best music comes from the soul and is unlimited in potential. Judgement of what sounds 'good' is in the eye of the beholder, a great musician plays to let their soul through not for recognition. If some or many enjoy it is simply a side bonus (a lovely one), no one's theory is a musical truth, but simply tools for learning. :D

    if you wanted to play two notes a semitone away from each other, then you could. it would create a very dissonant sound, but it could create whatever emotion that kind of chord envokes in you, see what im driving at? :P
    either way, Yanni is awesome, as well as this song. :)

  • @swordmaster373
    @swordmaster373 15 років тому

    there is music theory and a lot of guidelines that help you create "good" music, but it all comes down to the fact that music is whatever you want it to be, it shows emotions. by breaking some of these "rules," the music becomes unique, and more interesting to listen to. :P

    TheOwl54, exactly. Suffering is a solitary endeavor. But, once through it, one gains the ability to feel compassion for others. This compassion is reflected in the musician's ability to express the beauty of life through intricate melodies and counter-melodies, in an empathic manner.

    WHAT A CONCERT ... I MISS HIS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA .... HIS ORCHESTRA HAS SHRUNK BIG TIME, 3 VIOLINIST, 2 CELLO, 1 FRENCH HORN, 1 TRUMPET, 1 DRUMMER, 1 PERCUSSIONIST, 1 KEYBOARD PLAYER ....
    I MISS CONCERTS SIMILAR TO LIVE AT ACROPOLIS AND TRIBUTE ...

    Very positive song - not a new age though. Yanni, in his biography, he does not like to call his music "new age" with the associated new age spiritual connotation. Yanni calls his music "progressive" - and it is just that. Wonderful, human, positive music.

  •  15 років тому

    just wanted to make clear that there are some unbreakable things, like playing two inmediately next notes in the same chord, that would make an awful sound to our ears. i understand your point, but what u said sounded kinda.. absolute, when its not

    u can clearly look at their faces and tell that music is their soul their whole existence. They are so profoundly submerged in what they are doing that the outcome has to be no less than IMPECCABLE.

    If you're gonna post a video at 240p, don't even post it. It's not worth it. We can find a plethora of other music by the same artist of excellent streaming quality easily, including the same song performed at another venue. So it's not worth it.
