4:03 That fish with the long nose is called momyrus. And the long one the woman picked up is called Aba Aba or knife fish. The very big one looking like Tilapia is a Nile Perch.
We have obokun fish, korowo fish, akokoniko fish, ija fish, eba fish, iloro fish, epiya fish, osan fish, etc is being long have forgotten most names of fishes,I was once a fusher man.
Good job on this informative documentary. It is absolutely essential that we keep the names given to the fish by the locals. Let foreigners learn to call them by those names.
That's my mum senior sister that just spoke now....when you go there again just ask of IYA EWUJU that's my mum's name, she's popular know by everyone in the market. She sell all types of fishes
Oh thanks for the video and glad to once again see those lovely water creatures(Ha-Ha)! Cheers, stay safe, stay well and hopefully we just might meet again, God Willing (laugh)! 👏👍⭐💥🐝🐠🕴️🎥🦂🦟🕸️🕷️🐜🦞🌹🦀🐞🐙🦑🐳🐋🐟🐬🦈🐿️🦋🐂🦌🦄🦢🐑🏞️🌴🏖️🌛🌜
That place is called chief....where u get different kinds of fish in Epe I miss Epe greatly, I left after my grandma’s death May her soul rest in peace! Epe has the most healthy/fresh fish all I take now is frozen fish 😂
Actually, we got to buy some fish when we were at the market and the prices were ridiculously cheaper than what you would get in the city. So, you don't need to break the back whenever you plan on visiting.

Amazing video! I wish you get a price range for the fishes. It'll help those on the mainland know if it's worth the trip.
We’ll do that with the next set of videos. So stick around.
Exactly my thought. Most especially the big one that woman carried.
Awesome video.. I need to find my way to Epe😂😂🤪🤪

Wow. You should visit again sometime. ❤️
Obokun is River Catfish
Thanks Betty. ❤️
Nice one🔥
No you are wrong , Obokun is not catfish , catfish is eja Aaro .. Obokun is different
Can Obokun be raised like catfish?
Simple but lovely footage.
Thank you.
Can we find dry fish and crayfish at the Epe fish market?
Or it's just fresh fish
You can find dry fish and crayfish
You can also try the Olowu fish market at makoko. We have a video about our visit there too. It's right in the heart of Lagos.
Is there crayfish in market
It's basically a fish market. You can try other markets like makoko fish market, law school under bridge market and a few others.
thanks for the video but why did you not ask for the prices?
We got to ask for some prices but didn’t get it on cameras. We’ll do that next time. ❤️
Nice fish odyssey…
Thanks. ❤️
If at all I ever set foot in this market, is to buy the biggest fishes they have. I'll need to go with lots of cash.
Actually, we got to buy some fish when we were at the market and the prices were ridiculously cheaper than what you would get in the city. So, you don't need to break the back whenever you plan on visiting.
Do you have bigger ones.
Yes, you would see bigger ones when you visit.
I love catfish
We love catfish. ❤️
No place like EPE my home town
It’s a beauty to behold. ❤️
U look like one of Pete Edoche's actor sons.
Thanks Dr, I get that alot.
I just learned how to call or talk to a fish😂
You're welcome. 😎🤣
Grasscutter 1:43
Didn’t see the grasscutter at 1:43
You guys forgot to ask the price the fish cost.
We actually did but forgot to get it on camera. ❤️
My grandma used to sell fish at Epe before her death.😭😭
May her soul rest in perfect peace. ❤️
Red snipper
Agbadari
Wow, never knew that's what it's called. 👍❤️
Red snapper is IGBAKERE
Hope they don’t contaminate these waters
One unique thing about this Epe Market is that the butchers are Women.
Power to the women
All I know is that, “ A dead fish cannot be sweet in any soup!”
🤔
Okay. 👌🏽
Ok @firewall eat live fish na

Bulaba balabu
Epe riverine market is about to get ruined by Dangotes refinery
Hopefully the government already have regulations in place to preserve that ecosystem.
Truly smells very fishy 🥰
It does right? 😂 🥰❤️
Those small Cat fish are called Igangan.
That’s interesting to know Christey. Thanks for your input.
It is the obokun that is also called igangan, not catfish. I think catfish fingerlings are called pineshi
Smells fishy, I see what you just did there 😊 English is sweet 😂
😂 😂 😂 😂
I have a lot of videos of Epe fish in my Google drive .I am not in Nigeria but I can sell you videos of what you failed to check in that market .
Thanks for your feedback. We'll reach out if need be. ❤️
Can people please stop calling Epe Lagos. Epe is Ijebu land just like Ibeju Lekki as part of Lagos state. Not Lagos.
Wow, we would love to do an expose on this someday.
White snapper ????go to school
😂
Things we hear about Lagos🤣 You have to call to get filming permission SMH
You should also pocket some small change for street boys (omo onile). 🤣🤣

Scared? It's good food. 😋
