Ehsan Firouzi I would hope so. But so are hookers, you know? I'm not comparing the two, but you don't necessarily love your work just cause you're getting some bucks for it :-)
Zango True, but with better balancing, it doesn't have to be this dependent on luck. Artosis essentially dodged bullets multiple times in a row. Yes, any kind of card draw doesn't guarantee anything and it shouldn't, but Artosis quite clearly lucked out twice here. I agree that some of the card draw combos really rolled the dice in his favour, but... man, I don't know. Perhaps a best of 5 games would have been much better to eliminate more of the element of chance. In my humble noob opinion, Trump had the more stable deck going, less situational and with average odds just better (read: reliable) decks altogether. Does this mean this game favours situational decks over reliable decks most of the times? It's kind of dumb the particular decks lost here (especially the Paladin one), even when I ultimately couldn't really care less. It's a game, this was exciting to watch and both players did well.
PHeMoX It does not mean the game favours situational or "luck based decks"... Playing the more luck-based decks means you have high risk, high reward.... if you don't get those lucky draws then the decks are pretty useless.
Noboru Sora I never said it does. I said he lucked out twice. There's a difference. I also tend to disagree as far as misplays go, but that's open to debate of course.
to this day i'm still mad that artosis topdecked that win. he came in like a cocky sack of shit, called trump bad, and proceeded to win because of pure luck in an otherwise unwinnable situation. he drawed the only card in his entire deck that could answer, and he won. god it makes me so pissed.
I don't think anyone on Trump's team comes off as a dick tbh... If anything krip kinda talks smack sometimes but it's usually humor more than dickery, unlike the entirety of artosis's team.
I love how all of Artosis' team mates were bashing Trump and Trumps team mates were praising Artosis but then the only reason Artosis won was because of bullshit luck where as almost the whole time Trump went on skill
You must be a terrible player if you believe that. card games are only luck based when you make them luck based. Not to mention you can tip the odds in your favor if you know how and really you could literally say every card game is luck.
Late in game 4 that production mistake comes up again, where the player cams are incorrect, so it shows/indicates the wrong player. You would think considering that this is a prerecorded show AND the same mistake was made in last week's videos, that this kind of problem wouldn't be showing up AGAIN, buuuuuuuut no.
hmmm, his jacket is pretty stupid, but i think his face, looks kind of arrogant...and i don't know why. Makes me wanna top deck a pyroblast to blow his face off
I read the comments before I saw this video and I'm really skeptical that he wins by luck. But then I saw the game, and I was like OH MY GOD ARTOSIS YOU LUCKY FUCK.
It's a fucking card game, the lucky ones win lol, is the same as Yu-Gi-Oh, how the fuck does he gets always the card he needs? Luck plz, if you are a bad lucker, better don't play =D
Btw, second game Trump was so lucky to get 2 pyroblast and fireball what means 24 total dmg in 3 rounds, isn't that "lucky" at least? pff, people hate Artosis too much
zythH oklm It is not your choice to believe or not. There is no luck. What you consider luck is just a calculation and a number that gets drawn out. A game of chance or whatever you prefer to call it. You call double 6 on dice roll luck, I call it 1/36 chance. What's the chance of tossing 10 heads on a coin toss in a row? Same as any other combination that can be tossed. But people tend to believe they have something to do with the draw/toss or whatever, when in truth they don't. Calling someone lucky or unlucky suggests that because he is (un)lucky something happened to him and it wouldn't if someone else did the same. A load of BS.
petar vojinovic It is my choice, I can chose to be Atheist, Catolic or Satan or whatever, same as luck, I believe there is, when we shuffle the cards there is the factor luck if the best card is in the end or in the start, the card what ends can be the first card you take or the last of the deck, for me there is luck no mather what you say, idc, a card game is 35% luck 35% skill 30% your maths for me.
wow such real name very nice youtube super wow Welcome to youtube. Learn to not look down to comments before watching the video. If I were to really spoil and be a "spaz" as you put it, I'd spoil the next episode which just finished on twitch, but of course I won't do that. I was commenting on the episode. Not my fault it's the top comment and you're dumb enough to look at comments before the video. Now why don't you go play hide and go fuck yourself, you donut.
Robert Bro, this is a sport. Like, we can not address that stupid skill argument because they can't be compared, but this does qualify as a sport by definition. Just because there isn't sweaty men touching each other doesn't mean it's not a sport dear.
Not a fanboy. Artosis didn't deserve the win. First 2 games were average for both players but Trump made the better plays and won. Last 3 games Artosis Prayed to the Gods of RNG and RNGesus granted him his blessing.
Kinda how card games are. When someone pulls that one card he needed to end the game. :S Trump has certainly gotten far better since the Invitational! Still love him for being a draft/arena master.
Inspector Javert Eh. Its how the thing is setup. In specific MtG tourneys, there is no clock except the amount the judge has in patience. :P He can even declare your opponent a winner if you intentionally take too long. But in this, I think they REALLY are thinking through everything.
On turn 9 for Artosis on the last game at 1:26:37, you said you would ask him in the interviews why he chose to ice barrier with 20 health and 2 molten giants in hand instead of a fireball and ping to the face. You never asked him though.
TriviumQuadrivium It is 10 mana 10 damage. But it used to be 8 mana 10 damage. Maybe its better now, instead of 8 mana, 8 damage (makes it so versatile)
For the mage v mage match , in the end couldn't trump frostbolt each giant once and ping the face to put him to 11 health ? The giants would be frozen which would buy him one more turn to pyroblast and ping face ?
Artosis played well not sure why people are saying it was pure luck. He took risks and in half the games they paid off in the other half it game Trump the game. Just because Trump played safe/controlling/0risk doesn't mean he should of won. In the end though mage OP.
During the 3rd game (52:20), couldn't trump frostbolt 1 giant, hero power to the face. Then the following turn Pyroblast & hero power once more? He would only take 16 damage max from Artosis's minions, fireball, & hero power that turn. Or am I missing something?
Were these decks made constructed-style or arena-style? And generally, is it tournament dependent or are decks made area-style(with all cards available ofc) or arena style?
***** Ice Barrier ONLY activates when ur hero is ATTACKED, not by spells and hero powers. Therefore If it was Ice barrier, it would be lethal. It's a common error so just a reminderrr
everytime i see Kripp on any video, he always look like a homeless guy, waiting for his chance to steal something from the desk when nobody is watching lolll
I don't know guys I really enjoy this what I don't like is the game: too much RNG. This game needs serious rebalancing before it can have any kind of success
"Before it can have any kind of success"? Don't have any numbers, but I believe it already is successful. Also, have you played any other card games? Do you claim Magic: The Gathering is any less RNG?
Dumb question but where are these matches hosted? I assume somewhere in LA but doesn't Artosis live in Korea? That guy is usually casting proleague so does he always travel back and forth for this?
I am very new to Hearthstone seeing as a just started playing yesterday and I was wondering why don't these guys have a few taunt creatures? Remember I'm new so take it easy on me
"Metagame" means that the way you should play and build a deck depends on how your opponents play and which cards they play. For example, against a spell-heavy mage (who relies on a burn win condition) taunt creatures are pretty useless. On the other hand, taunts and tempo cards (like Frost Novas) shut down the rush decks.
Artosis was the luckiest person I've ever seen in a match. Every single RNG went his favor in the last 3 games. If Trump had gotten one thing right in his favor in those last 3 games, he would have easily won the series.
How do you rage quit? He quits when he knows he has lost. There is no chat to say gg. Or do you assume one should stay in a game you KNOW you have lost just so you can graphically get the hero down to zero life, aka I don't know ,waste time?
NinjaBen00 They do not have access to all cards. You have to unlock and buy packs that give random cards. You could also create cards you are missing by using resources from disenchanting (destroying) cards you dont need.
Fantastic commentary from Kripp once again; really enjoyed the insight he gave.
Wow kripp is such an awesome commentator.
Such good insight and very entertaining!
Lmao I love the asian caster is suited up and snazzy, and then Kripp is just there unshaven, no sleep, wearing a hoodie.
+TunaSammich kripp was busy throwing salt.
Kripp for ya
The first 3 minutes made me really uncomfortable for some reason. it's weird.
I hear ya. Those poor girls.
yeah.. he's weird
Michael Johnsen those "poor girls" are getting paid
Ehsan Firouzi I would hope so. But so are hookers, you know? I'm not comparing the two, but you don't necessarily love your work just cause you're getting some bucks for it :-)
***** hahahahaha
Kripp is great commentator.
wow..Artosis was incredibly lucky with all his draws with his mage...every turn he had was so lucky.
Lireoec Card game is RNG
Zango True, but with better balancing, it doesn't have to be this dependent on luck. Artosis essentially dodged bullets multiple times in a row.

Noboru Sora I never said it does. I said he lucked out twice. There's a difference. I also tend to disagree as far as misplays go, but that's open to debate of course.
I wouldnt make my worst enemy wear Artosis' jacket
I love how Trump leans forward out of the sight of the camera
Kripp did an awesome job commentating!
to this day i'm still mad that artosis topdecked that win.
he came in like a cocky sack of shit, called trump bad, and proceeded to win because of pure luck in an otherwise unwinnable situation. he drawed the only card in his entire deck that could answer, and he won. god it makes me so pissed.
Trump's adorable. He's got to be the only pro gamer who doesn't come off as a dick
Only? Maybe trump is too kind so it contrasts but there are plenty grateful pros out there
I don't think anyone on Trump's team comes off as a dick tbh... If anything krip kinda talks smack sometimes but it's usually humor more than dickery, unlike the entirety of artosis's team.
***** Lol college must be a big accomplishment for you?
I'll be starting a master's in september... I wouldn't be laughing at him if I only had a high school ed. now would I?
SunDownPoint "Starting" a masters makes you a college grad too ;)

spoilers? I LOVE U!
3rd game he top decked back to back
Only reason why he won.
Alex Andr why would you ever read comments before watching the video that's not logical at all
Hearthstone is luck.
You must be a terrible player if you believe that. card games are only luck based when you make them luck based. Not to mention you can tip the odds in your favor if you know how and really you could literally say every card game is luck.
God, trump is seriously the most adorably awkward guy ever...
+Jeuxbox ikr
+Jeuxbox He's the only pro gamer I'd genuinely like to give a hug.
+mistervanderveer StrifeCro m8
+mistervanderveer don't know if his mother would approve
Nobody can be upset with trump, with Artosis with the most ridiculous luck...

You would think considering that this is a prerecorded show AND the same mistake was made in last week's videos, that this kind of problem wouldn't be showing up AGAIN, buuuuuuuut no.
Kripp was trolling the other commentator so hard that whole set.
Needs to add a time limit/move just like ladder. Some of the moves were taking almost 4-5 mins..
Either I'm really high or that wheel spun forever.
Good thing trump was playing not me, if I lost to a top deck 2 games in a row that computer in front of me would be on the ground in a second flat.
Yeah, it seemed kind of silly that he got that unlucky... twice.
I also really hate that ice block card.. so annoying to play against.
lol, i would've put the computer into artosis' face
Thats why you dont play douche cards like ice block...
TheDeathJesters1337 what do you hate more: artosis face or his stupid jacket
hmmm, his jacket is pretty stupid, but i think his face, looks kind of arrogant...and i don't know why. Makes me wanna top deck a pyroblast to blow his face off
Artosis looks like he needs to be a nascar driver
Kripp was crisp in his casting
Were the girls really necessary?
Good god yes.
Matthijs Desendere AGREED!
Only to see Trump near them. XD
Imagine though... "Now hiring sexy girls to wear slutty outfits with fake glasses!"
Adam Searing gay spotted
Are girls really necessary in drag races, boxing, american "football"?
just to name a few..
I read the comments before I saw this video and I'm really skeptical that he wins by luck. But then I saw the game, and I was like OH MY GOD ARTOSIS YOU LUCKY FUCK.

Team Kripp and the three dwarfs! XD
ahahaha Kripp is such a giant XD
If i was playing, I would have totally knocked the pail into the well and knock out all the windows in that upper left building lol
Kripp is a natural commentator, he is always so hard on himself when he's talking about it on stream.
Kripp is such a good moderator.
I want to see a 1h video just of the wheel rotating plz
This whole fight night thing is super nerdy. Still awesome though, lol
I love it, i can't believe that i spent 2 hours watching this!
Trump looks like he is having a good time lol and Artosis looks so serious
Focused
Lol that beginning with the girls
lol
ESGN should show both players on the screen at all times. Would be nice to see the reactions.
totally agree. Maybe a smaller picture of the other player in the top right or left of the screen would be nice
Artosis definitely didn't deserve that win.

Kripp, you have easily become the official hearthstone caster, pro.
It displayed the names wrong in the paladin mage game
Man that studio looks smooth. Impressive seeing this is still an underground sport.
it's not a sport... just as pizza is not a vegetable, although fat kids all around would disagree with both...

All hail, the king of topdecking
Kripp's mustache Kreygasm
This was very entertaining, Artosis managed to win from a such big disadvantage. +1
He topdecked so insanely luckily.
33:45 Ek0p showing why we call his team "douchehouse"
Those girls aren't making this any less nerdy. Just get rid of the "sexy" women and embrace the nerdiness of this!
First of all: great show!
Second: could you guys include the decklists in the description? Or link it! It would mean a lot! Thanks!
How can trump be so unlucky? RNG always goes against him it seems like.
Holy crap. No duration on on the dwarf +2 attack buff. That's grazy good.
yeah that made him worth having in a deck. Now it's a useless card.
There's Blizzard for ya, nerfing all of the pretty good cards and leaving more op cards not nerfed.
Pyroblast 8 mana? That was be-e-e-autiful. Now it´s 10, not so beautiful anymore... T-T
Is there a deck list of the Match 1 Mage Trump played?
Artosis won because of topdeck...
The wheel in the sky keeps on turning.
Artosis top decking back to back like a bitch. The only reason why he won.
cmon man dont be mad trump got his shit pushed in. artosis was clearly the better player and it showed, rump got rekt. GG
Much butthurt, very fanboy.
Not a fanboy. Artosis didn't deserve the win.
First 2 games were average for both players but Trump made the better plays and won.
Last 3 games Artosis Prayed to the Gods of RNG and RNGesus granted him his blessing.
You're acting like he had a choice. You do what you can to win.
***** Not a TCG
This is really great, I love this channel
Artosis ain't gud, he's the luckiest little shit i've ever seen since my friend got 4 spectral tigers in wow tcg, 2 packs.
u mad bro?
Yes.
Wow Kripp's commentary is really good.
they messed up the names and shit the whole time, that got me pretty mad/confused
OH the memories
Bring back Fight Night Hearthstone 2020!
WOW poor trump played way better hahah atrosis the top deck master
Yea it's disgusting
Kinda how card games are. When someone pulls that one card he needed to end the game. :S Trump has certainly gotten far better since the Invitational! Still love him for being a draft/arena master.
There need to be time limits on the fucking turns. This is fucking ridiculous.
Inspector Javert
Eh. Its how the thing is setup. In specific MtG tourneys, there is no clock except the amount the judge has in patience. :P He can even declare your opponent a winner if you intentionally take too long.
But in this, I think they REALLY are thinking through everything.
PitFighter Artosis top decked the win 3 times. I think this guy is beyond lucky, something supernatural is at work here.
suffered insomnia for years! Put this on, woke up 12 hours later. Thanks....
Man , just make kripp the commentator ! He is soo good at it !!!
On turn 9 for Artosis on the last game at 1:26:37, you said you would ask him in the interviews why he chose to ice barrier with 20 health and 2 molten giants in hand instead of a fireball and ping to the face. You never asked him though.
lol pyroblast for 8 mana
now thats lame
ye I started playing hs this patch
***** I thought pyro blast was10 mana for 10 damage?
TriviumQuadrivium It is 10 mana 10 damage. But it used to be 8 mana 10 damage. Maybe its better now, instead of 8 mana, 8 damage (makes it so versatile)
U forgot the change side from Healer , it cost 6 mana xD now cost 10 ... a lot of cards change , it was a mess
yup
also tinkmaster rng
For the mage v mage match , in the end couldn't trump frostbolt each giant once and ping the face to put him to 11 health ? The giants would be frozen which would buy him one more turn to pyroblast and ping face ?
Art might as well buy a lottery ticket. No skill, all luck
This is honestly just outstanding commentary by Kripp
Artosis played well not sure why people are saying it was pure luck. He took risks and in half the games they paid off in the other half it game Trump the game. Just because Trump played safe/controlling/0risk doesn't mean he should of won. In the end though mage OP.
In the end though, those topdecks to lose the game or win.. 2 games in a row. TopDick Dan "Artosis" Stemkoski
During the 3rd game (52:20), couldn't trump frostbolt 1 giant, hero power to the face. Then the following turn Pyroblast & hero power once more? He would only take 16 damage max from Artosis's minions, fireball, & hero power that turn. Or am I missing something?
I believe pyroblast would proc iceblock
Turn 1: Frostbolt 8/8. 8/8 +2/1+ 1/2 on the board = 11 damage. - Hero his face: Artosis has: 11 hp
Turn 2: Artosis Smash with all creatures - Trump has 8 hp left.
Turn 3: Hero + pyro activates ice block. Invincible artosis is invincible.
Turn 4: Rip Trump.
I miss FightNight :c
Were these decks made constructed-style or arena-style? And generally, is it tournament dependent or are decks made area-style(with all cards available ofc) or arena style?
Wow that luck o.O
Does blood imp have a different effect. UPDATE?
that 8 mana pyroblast though
Anyone know where the quality hearthstone channels are?
50:30 why not pyro+bolt = 13 damage? It is lethal, what lost game, what are they talking about?
cuz he got ice block, which prevents death for 1 turn when enemy get lethal
Oh, thank you! I mistaken it with another Ice Barrier.
Alexey Filippenko even if it was ice barrier it still wouldnt be lethal, then artosis would have with the giants
***** Ice Barrier ONLY activates when ur hero is ATTACKED, not by spells and hero powers. Therefore If it was Ice barrier, it would be lethal. It's a common error so just a reminderrr
ahh interesting :)
Man I love this
everytime i see Kripp on any video, he always look like a homeless guy, waiting for his chance to steal something from the desk when nobody is watching lolll
so impressed with Kripp, Good job bro.
"Trump is a terrible constructed player, he's more of an arena guy" well, you do that this is CONTRUCTED?
Everything except for the actual game was absolutely hilarious
I don't know guys I really enjoy this
what I don't like is the game: too much RNG. This game needs serious rebalancing before it can have any kind of success
*****
why. Anything that makes the game better.
"Before it can have any kind of success"? Don't have any numbers, but I believe it already is successful. Also, have you played any other card games? Do you claim Magic: The Gathering is any less RNG?
Wickedturd Magic: the Gathering has much less RNG. Very few of the cards say randomly do something. The most RNG has to do with it is card draw.
I dont see this as a major e-sport but it is still successful
exactly
Dumb question but where are these matches hosted? I assume somewhere in LA but doesn't Artosis live in Korea? That guy is usually casting proleague so does he always travel back and forth for this?
GG Well TopDecked
Uhhh... I think you may have messed up which deck gets the facecam of Artosis, or Trump.
SOMETIMES FORTUNE FAVORS THE MAGE HAHAHAH!! Oh trump ;')
do they all have access to every card when making the decks they use?
I am very new to Hearthstone seeing as a just started playing yesterday and I was wondering why don't these guys have a few taunt creatures? Remember I'm new so take it easy on me
It's all about the metagame.
***** Yes, and most people (Including me) have no idea how to find out what the meta is. Care to share a tip?
check out liquid hearth.
Karmales and /r/hearthstone
so when will we see some tournaments with all the patches, some of the cards dont do the same anymore some nerfed mostly nerfage
Could that jacket be any gayer
50:26 why trump didn't use pyroblast and frozen bolt on face? ...
Wow... so many misplays and lucky topdecks.
Artosis was the luckiest person I've ever seen in a match. Every single RNG went his favor in the last 3 games. If Trump had gotten one thing right in his favor in those last 3 games, he would have easily won the series.
Mage OP! Nerf mage! Oh wait...
Should i disenchant my golden cairne bloodhoof and make a different legendary or keep my cairne .
artosis is so fucking lucky hahahahahahaa. i've stomped him a few times on ladder always rage quits before i can finish him off.
I'm sure.
How do you rage quit? He quits when he knows he has lost. There is no chat to say gg. Or do you assume one should stay in a game you KNOW you have lost just so you can graphically get the hero down to zero life, aka I don't know ,waste time?
Joel Nilsson Hedekäll Yes you should.
thats like the coolest story i have ever heard
I bet you fuck all the hot cheerleaders, bro. And have like, eighteen girlfriends that are totally real.
I love all the poses monk pulls. Legend
Gotta love Trump.
hey are these like....decks that they made themselves?? im confused as to how they determine the cards that they get?
Yes, the players build a deck of cards consisting of no more or less than 30 cards, with a maximum of 2 of each.
Fujitsyu but like what cards do they have access to? all of them?
NinjaBen00 They do not have access to all cards. You have to unlock and buy packs that give random cards. You could also create cards you are missing by using resources from disenchanting (destroying) cards you dont need.
MaleficArken no. these professional players do have access to all the cards. you are wrong good sir.
Cole444Train Yeah because they've pretty much gone through that entire process and own all the ones they need.
8 mana Pyroblast. You don't want to see it too often playing against a mage.
What happened to the white balance?
Kripp knows too much about Hearthstone. like actually man take it down a few notches.
who?
how do they change it so theres no timer?
What the heck? Two topdeck wins? Rlly?
