- Hi guys! Welcome to lesson 80 of Learn That Solo! Today we look at how to play the clean solo from 'Foreclosure Of A Dream' by Megadeth a personal favourite of mine off the 'Countdown To Extinction' album.
I remember hearing this solo when I first got into Megadeth and just being blown away. Now that I'm far more of a boss it's actually playable now. This is a great song, not as well known as other Megadeth songs but is extremely melodic and good times win.

I appreciate these lessons. Helped me tremendously the other night while I was learning this. Not near as hard as one might think. Those patters and shapes are so well known on the fretboard and virtually every great guitar player utilizes those scales whether legato or alternate picked.

Full songs would be a bit full on and I think just solos is what makes my channel cool. I learned ghost in 2005 or 2006 for one of my students. It's in open D minor DADFAD I think. I do love the solos in that song. I'll put it on my list!

Hi..just saw this caz i knew 75% of the solo wen i was 15...im 42 now and just going back to relearn that shit...cheers 4 ur vid...i cant be fukd with finding the origanal Megadeth tab books...so yeah...cheers 4 this...but i have the original tab books like i have over 100 that cover all metal from 83 to 99....its in the cellar somewhere...but its still in my mind...new millenium new tech so yeah....i like the way u do ur bends except some of them have a quater bend up to the note b4 the pull off... its just gives it that edge when u strike the note...but thank you..well done \m/

Thanks for the video. I can play it slowly but when I try to play fast it gets totally wrong. Does someone know a good exercise to develop speed & accuracy for doing solos?
+xarran Just practice. Lately, I've been learning the Tornado of Souls solo and all I do to work that out is to practice chunks and work them together

The original solo is a win, but when I watch this I thought it's not so good. Marty has some spell in his fingers I guess and his sound is the best, don't know what makes his tone so good maybe his jackson or something
the guitarist make the guitar i think that marty's technique has a unique tone that makes every solo seem original and creative (i don't speak english so sorry if i wrote something wrong)
Marty is a highly articulate player and he plays over changes which is pretty unusual for rock/metal/shred on top of his exotic phrases which is a staple for him. He doesn't just go through the notes, there is always a little something. He probably plays pretty aggressively as well so his use of dynamics would be something to notice.

Bradley Stroup that's right dude he is a pretty unique guitarist and one of the best. His problem with the picking hand (you see him picking really weird) makes the difference I guess
He does that because he favors up picks and doesn't like palm muting
9:41-9:42 ....u rake up to the G on 4th fret.its kinda muted... same as what dime did all the time...try it...its basically a muted rake E b onto the G string but u kinda release ur left hand b4 u play that 4th yehh?? Practice it...u'l no what i mean...then apply that to everything u no and you almost have those keys to the lamboghini

I'd say7 try tornado or lucrecia I practice them Marty says if they are hard I don't playem lol. No man it gets easier the more you study triads and play peace
