My favourite version is Hopper for the Acorn electron. Fantastic game, the controls mixed with the animation allow fast paced play if done correctly, the difficulty curve spikes quickly also. Love the snes version also and after seeing it, I'm gonna have to put my mega drive version on I think.
There's also a third version for the Atari 2600 that was made for the Arcadia/Starpath Supercharger and loaded from cassette. It is actually one of the very best versions of the game.
@@MaximRecoil I think you're right. I would argue that it is easily better than the Vic-20 version and even, dare I say it, equal to the C64 version! It's too bad the Starpath Supercharger came out when it did and only had a dozen or so games made for it. I had one with all the games except one or two that were never officially released (but found them on a CD collection years later).

The creator of this video says it's from Sega, but it isn't. On the box it says "The Official Frogger by Sega," which is where the confusion comes from, but that's just because Sega had certain rights to the IP. It's no different than how, for example, the Donkey Kong cartridge for the Atari 2600 says "Donkey Kong by Nintendo" on it, but it was made/developed by Coleco. The box for the far more common Parker Brothers version of Frogger for the 2600 also mentioned Sega. It said, "Under license from Sega Enterprises Inc." All Supercharger games were made/developed by the Starpath company themselves.

It might be hard to find nowadays, but I seem to remember, at the time anyway, that I had to find a utility that could convert the audio into the real binary to be played on a 2600 emulator (I believe the CD itself was designed to be plugged into an actual Supercharger). Now you can easily find every game ROM ever made for just about every console ever made with minimal searching.

My ColecoADAM can play games the stock CV couldn't, my SNES would never be able to run Doom without a SuperFX2 chip, and the Genesis would never have been able to poke a stick at Silpheed or Star Wars Arcade without the 32X or the CD. But I'm still able to play them on original hardware. It might not be a *fair* comparison, but there is no denying it's the better port of the game. That being said, I grew up with the Parker Bros version and loved it all the same, hell, I even loved Pac Man and Donkey Kong on my 2600.
You could have been more exhaustive, but you are already GOOD, you missed hopper on Oric (one of the best version) and Frogger on CPC+ and Froggie on amstrad CPC (there is multiple froggers on cpc but it's the best), also another Version from the wii Frogger Returns in Wad is missing, also, there is another version on amstrad CPC std I remember playing, but it seems it as been lost, I cannot find it anywhere (??)...Also, you should class all the version according to Timeline.
