I’m getting hungry just watching this!! 😋
This is not the Original Gladys's. We went there in the mid to late 60's and the early 70's. There was a extremely kind and loving waiting staff. The food was just phenomenal. The service was outstanding, and the place was very very clean. I see at least they are holding on to the 3 most important aspects.
I wanna try it

@@JoseMartinez-df2db thx bro, 10yrs in the city and I need to sample them
My aunt and uncle rave about this place the live in the suburbs of Chicago.
Don't even give their address, and can barely make out the name. Such sloppy reporting. Thought this was Army & Lou's, which is really the oldest soul food restaurant on the Southside.

Army and Lous had the tastiest clam chowder 💯
Soul food is one of the reasons our community is way too big.
LOCATION Please
Are they still open today? I LVM last wk to cater some breakfast food. No one still has yet to called me back.
0:11 😊❤Where is that in Chicago Illinois?
Wait, what's the name of the restaurant and where is it located?
I just posted something similar. And they didn't even research the history, because it's not the oldest on the Southside (unless Army & Lou's is closed). But you can expect sloppy reporting on Black ppl from Fox News.

The food looks good but the reporter is the eye catcher.❤😊
ha ha ha, He's looking better than that peach cobbler, huh Ruth?
@@newtheisI'm going to say it's damn there close.😂🤞🏽

@@JoseMartinez-df2db thank you
A very important tip - never mention "stuffing" to any of the Rest's staff at all. Keep that word to yourself! This soul food restaurant has a few hair-triggered quirks unlike most other soul food restaurants. Mentioning "stuffing" out of the open, is, to the staff members, something like "loose talk" or even a "Pandora's box", and this "bad karma" word will get you run out of the restaurant and you may not be welcome back like a card counter at a casino.
You CAN say "stuffing" at other soul-food restaurants but if you say that at St. Rest's, you will be backed off at least from saying it again--if you want to continue to stay at that restaurant. It is their property, their sandbox! So please respect that!
Where you get that jacket Nate?
they love to wear Loud colors....lol..
Imagine if they had a story of a white owned restaurant.
Add an address bad reporting

What is blackened fish? do you kiwi shoe polish on it???
Only fools will use shoe Polish to put on their face. Like legacy admission students
Lots of white owned businesses with longevity in the city too. What does the skin color of the owners have to do with anything?
I’m black and I agree with you smh 🤦🏾♂️💯
You jealous 😢
@@soserene6107 jealous for what us as blacks should be a shame for wanting recognition but killing each other F BLM
Because it's a Black-owned business that's been a pillar in the community. Y'all don't say shit when Hispanics and gays do it. It's a Hispanic restaurant that was featured on WGN that hires only Hispanics. Discrimination if you ask me, but ain't nobody giving that no side-eye. Same when it comes to the Irish. So be quite.
yeah its becoming we are not important anymore bc black people are yelling HEY LOOK AT ME
Is it all you can eat
No
Thanks

Surprised they haven’t been looted.
ha ha ha good one
Lems Barbecue was never looted ever
@@valeriehawthorne8259 it’s because blacks are the ones looting, carjacking and shooting. Since black culture is negativity, I’m surprised this place has survived because blacks destroy everything.
