20:43, yes SAO is my first ever anime, now i am 20, still love it and one of my top fav anime, it is top not because of it have really good plot but cuz of its memory for my high school life, i really got motivate in school because of sao.
Asuna's hair turns blue bc she choose the undine fairy race. It is supossed to be her same SAO avatar transfered to ALO, the changes are just racial traits.
I really recommend you get to the later seasons, the writing will get better exactly from the last arc of season 2. This was one of the first works of the author and he wrote this for a competition, but then couldn't participate due to word limit. Still it has really cool concepts and for its time it was unexplored to this extent.
Agreed. I just hope they go through all of it. There's S2, then the movie: Ordinal Scale, then S3. (Then redo movies if they wish) But up to S3 from here on is godly.
All I can say is that I NEED to see what ya'll enjoy about the rest of the series, because it is a fantastic journey. I've never seen someone who made it to the current end of the anime who wasn't hootin and hollerin about how much they loved SAO. Just saying.
As someone who watched sao a lot back then I can tell you guys it only gets better from here on! The next arc has some seriousness to it like the thirst arc did (just in a different way - you will get it) And when you arrive at peak Sao (the last two seasons) you will be glad you didn’t skip the anime ❤ for me personally the last seasons are comparable to demon slayer quality wise (no joke)
Personally, the pattern of rising, dip, and re-rise that you guys described in your post-watch wrapup is how I feel about just about every season of SAO across its entire catalogue. They always seem to have this really solid idea that is fun to watch and cool to think about, and then they kinda decide they've gotten all of the juice out of it that they need and hop to something else somewhere in the season and things feel like they take a bit of a dip, but then it kinda stabilizes, recovers, and gets back to being fairly enjoyable before the season wraps up. I'm not sure what's up with the writer, but it happens enough times that it's gotta be a deliberate choice on their part. That said, I think it's definitely a show worth continuing as long as you're okay with that kind of narrative cycle. If you didn't mind the jump between SAO to ALO, then you'll be fine for the rest of the show's seasons. If you were kind of bitter about them leaving SAO behind halfway through the season and feeling that maybe they could've explored it a bit more, then you might experience similar feelings in seasons going forward.
There are indeed better written shows out there (I mean monogatari and Clannad are out there, not many can compare) but SAO was my first anime i started, ready for it to drag out forever. You can imagine my pleasant shock when the game ended mid season. Still one of my favorite anime episodes of all time. Also in my country the cousin thing is okay so as a romance/drama lover the second half of the season just solidified my love for the anime.
P.S as a kid watching Ben10 and not understanding different cultures, I'm still salty that ben×gwen wasn't a thing My #1 childhood ship sunk before sailing
Nicely said. Also, on the romantic level, it just seems REALLY difficult for folks in the States to handle cultural differences. I mean....when Mushoku Tensei first happened....oh damn. Folks were in a tussy. Didn't matter what actual other culture did or still do, "It's wrong!" At least these dudes are super chill and having a laugh about their discomfort. Fuzzy for me to say. My favorite cousin and I are related by adoption, and I remember her mom and our grandma talking about practically setting us up together. 🤣 Well, none of us knew she was lesbian back then, either.
I don't really like s3 s4 mostly because of adaptation but I imagine you'll be the opposite so hopefully you stick with it to the end (it's pretty but poorly adapted in my opinion)
@duckers0123 I replied to that poorly I know some of direction choices because someone said it, I haven't read it yet so I'm mostly saying sht out of my as s
At 17:26, lmfao...."Gun Gale Online, America's made that one" In the source material, the company that makes GGO is actually based in America

14:42 In the novel Kirito mentions the name Sachi
4:45 I believe 4 months later, right? Wasn't all of this season happening in early January?

Most people say it is the best including me
I just can't bring myself to like some choices they made
Especially in poh fight
But I'm excited for s5
Or maybe I'll just read it someday
@duckers0123 I replied to that poorly
