@Tceeme, I know I said I was going to bed, but did a bit of reading instead. I did resize the template. Pull it over into a word document and then click on it to format. Go to size and resize it to fit your page. DO NOT pull by the corners as you will distort it. Using Ctrl is supposed to keep it proportional, but I don't trust that. I sized to just under 8 inches.---7.78 or 7.68---one of those since I printed on 8.5 x11 paper. HTH.
I really love how you have been exploring this technique and sharing it with us. You are a kind and generous person and I thank you for your inquisitive, creative and sharing nature. You go girl! I can't wait to see more!
I just found your tutorial and I'm absolutely thrilled! It's extremely helpful and has helped to end my frustrations with circles! I must compliment your grammar as well. I am so sick of watching tutorials that are filled from start to finish with "Um" and "uh". You are well spoken and this tutorial was a an absolute pleasure to watch. Applause, applause!
Hi Deanna, the beauty of this is the size of the circle does not matter. Once you place your template on the grid you will see how many degrees you will need to mark based on the size of your circle. If the circle is a small one, you might only get to punch 5 times, but they will be equal since 5 x 72= 360. You could also do 4 punches at 90 degrees apart if the circle is a small one. That is why I like the CDC grid. I cut my circle on the circle scissor at 150. HTH, let me know.
A friend sent me here to watch ur vid as i love to use punches in creative ways too! U sound like my colleague who is a maths teacher! When i saw the lines and the word degrees i got dizzy as i cant handle maths lol. But its easy to follow ur tutorial. Thank you so much!
You are amazing, Veronica! I love your videos and your enthusiasm in sharing with us. Thank you so much! I have recently received some new punches and cannot wait to try some of your techniques.....so excited!
What a great technique for the corner punches!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing this...I'm gonna go make some 'doilies' from corner punches! Not to mention, add more corner punches to my supply list. Thank you!
@paprluvr, thanks for the link and for sharing it with us. these would be great to copy and save as a pdf so as not to distort the image. remember to resize using the drop down box. the wrong click with shift and arrow will mess you up something terrible.
Loved it. I think you did such a great job in showing us how to go get these wonderful designs with our Martha Steward Punches. I am going to try this since I have a few of her punches. Thank you so much for the tip on the grid that make it possible for for us to create all these different types of dolly's. In His Grace, Lorisa aka ElleScrapper
I'm so glad I have a good friend like you who likes math....b/c I sure don't! I can always rely on you to figure out this stuff for me! I wonder where my DS gets his dislike of math...lol. This is a great technique..can't wait to try it with my butterfly punch. TFS, Heather
Thanks, I have the MS crocheted lace corner punch & the matching edge punch. I have racked my brain trying to figure out the math for it. Thanks so much! Great video!
i love that you are coming up with so much awesome things to do with the punches can't wait to see what other things you are going to come up with LOVE IT you go Girl love connie
@LMKENNEDY1, once you get the image, right click on it and you get an option to resize or you can go to the toolbar at the top of your screen and select format picture (PC) and select the option to change your size keeping the horizontal and vertical proportional to each other. GL with it and let me know if you need more assistance. TFW, Vee
I love this technique but I would like to know what size of circles you are using. I would think that this would make a difference on whether or not the pieces are spaced correctly. Thx Deanna
@TerrisBloomingIdeas, I will go and sit by the phone and wait..lol...:) Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. It is much appreciated. Vee
hi victoria. i did not enlarge the grid. i guess you could do that to fill the page and get a different look to the punched page. Hmmmm. Might have to try that this weekend. Vee
Oh Vee..thank you so much. I finally got it! Yippee...now I am off to print out the grid. hugs T (Theresa) yep she did this for me!!!! Thank you Vee!!!
@Tassycrafty that is funny. i am in no way a "math" person, but this seemed fairly straight forward to me. for some reason my brain was able to wrap itself around the concept. hope you have fun playing. Vee
you are very welcome. science and art. i love it. the more i seem to give, the more i seem to get back. i am sure Muhammad was on to something good. thank you so much for the encouragement.
trisia, thank you. right click on the image you want and save it to your computer and you can print form there. If you save as a pdf you won't have to worry about accidentally distorting your image. Good luck. Vee
Veronica, thank you so much...I just needed to know if you enlarged this grid, and if you did by what percentage...I printed it but didn't pay attention to what page it was on, so I printed all the pages....DON'T DO THAT ANYONE...thank you, so much...victoria
@TheCoutureCrafter How big is this circle? When I printed it, it was only 31/2" in diameter. Yours looks to fill the whole page. What drop box are you talking about to resize?
@iamgodgirl , that is an awesome comment and what a great example to use with my students. So, true. Kids are always saying, when will we use this again...now!!!! lol
Please! would you mind give me/ us the link -website, to the circle graph ? I would like to use the same one you found. Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial. Also, it appears that your audio cuts out a few times during the video...or is that intentional? Thanks.
@BlackCatNoni, yes, it is intentional...lol I deleted the audio b/c it came through garbled for some reason. I put in the text to compensate.
