I have 2 display cabinets similar to the tall skinny one you were looking at. One holds my glass collection, the other holds my Rocks and minerals. They work well. Your right about the layout of the store, you do feel like your trapped in a maze.
Here in England IKEA meatballs are a legend. They are serve with Lingonberry sauce and French fries or mash and peas. The cafe is usually completely full, unlike the one you visited. Love the channel.

We put together a metal and glass cabinet from IKEA and definitely grew some gray hairs putting it together. The directions were only pictures which was subject to interpretation and handling the glass panels was nerve wracking

I used to live in Charlotte, NC, where there was an Ikea. I enjoyed shopping there. Seems to me that while you are there you are obliged to pretend you are Swedish. Labels on merchandise, decor themes, cafe food, grocery department...all Swedish. It appeared to me that the founders of the chain all want to say, "Look how great Sweden is! Let us immerse you in it!" However, it seems they found out that there is a line that you can't push Americans over. For example, it didn't take long before you didn't see lutefisk in the cafe anymore. How barferific.
Tell Jacob that his stop at KFC museum really scared poor Jen the Hen 😕 and IKEA has meatballs because they have to get rid of the sawdust somewhere! 😮
Go to any American Chinese food place and ask them what the food names mean. I had a friend of my boys tell me.... they mean nothing to them. They buy a menu and basic shop set up and learn how to make American food. My guess is the meatballs are the same.
Have a request please could you pan a little slower. It gives people a chance to see things better. Also I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but the quick movement of the camera up and down and side to side makes me a tad nauseous. It's why I can't play 1st person shooter games 😵💫 Just a thought 😺
