Cut the loose end that will thread through the buckle at a 45 degree angle instead of straight across. It makes it much easier to thread, especially with wet, cold fingers.

I'm noticing your sewing machine doesn't look like a particularly heavy duty one, which has been my biggest worry, that my sewing machine isn't strong enough. I have a Huqvarna Viking E20. A fairly sturdy machine but not heavy duty. This makes me feel so much better seeing this video. Failing that, I have my eye on a hand crank Singer at a local thrift store

Thanks for a clear and well presented video - now have a good idea of how to correctly make original webbing straps.

I need to fix some strap/webbing on my boat cover. What sewing machine would you recommend?

What size needle did you use and what tension setting worked for you?

Great video. Just one question. Do you have molle webbing on the bottom of your pack to strap the bottom bag to or is that strapped some other way. Very interested in knowing because I'm trying to do the same load system. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🤠

Yes, there is molle on the bottom of the pack.

@@BackPackHack Okay. Appreciate your response. I do have one more question. My pack doesn't have molle Do you have a technique fixing bottom strap system or a way of mounting a bottom roll with a different approach. Very interested to hear your views on this. 🤠🇦🇺

Without seeing the pack it's hard for me to offer any suggestions.

@@BackPackHack That's fair enough. Thanks anyway. Still useful video. I'm using one of the Dutch army little 35 litre for a bushcraft pack, which a roll would fit just perfect. All the best 🇦🇺🤠👍

can you make load leveler for a backpack that does not have load levelers? thank you

You probably could, but you'd have to disassemble the pack just to get it to fit into a sewing machine. Or sew most of it by hand.
