Testing a NEW FLOAT! Fishing With a New Ultra Light Float Rig!

- Today I am testing a new float! I'm fishing with a new ultra light float rig designed by i_fish. This is the 1.25 gram float and the matching 1.25 BG-1 jig head. My lure of choice today is a Gulp Alive Minnow (1 inch). I catch a variety of panfish including long ear sunfish and bluegill. The float casts well on my light setup with 6 lb test mono. The slim float highly visible even while fishing from the bank. The float is also quite sensitive seeing that a 4 inch bluegill can easily take it under. I enjoy trying new lures and gear, and I appreciate the chance to test new ultra light rigs like this. #fishing #realistic

That float is very nice! Good job out there Alex! Thanks for another realistic journey buddy!
I'm pretty stuck on the billy bob bobbers but that's why this show is special. Love for all types of tackle. KIR!!
Fine looking bobber and easy to set up! Especially like the storage container to keep it nice for many outings! Nice Bobber Victor!! Thanks for getting it out on the water Alex!
Wow, he really nailed it with that float!
KIR!
Thats awesome! Now its time for big male bluegill!
Nice day for fishing. iFish looks like he making some good products. Great video. KiR!!!
That last gill was a good one. Nice way to end the day. Great rig too.
I'm 0-3 now.. with all the rain and storms lately... even Gulp Minnows won't get a bite here lately. Tried 2 farm ponds and a local creek...got a couole nibbles but nothing landed... Nice looking float! Definitely need to try out those jigheads! KIR!
I’ve spent my whole last few using the old red and white bobber. After I started watching your channel I tried the same float you use. I’ve had success so I’m not gonna say it doesn’t work, but for the life of me I can’t get used to the float. I’ll keep at it this summer for sure. I definitely won’t be trying the float you’re using here for awhile. Maybe someday but gonna keep working the other one for now. Nice to see something different being used though. Always good to find new lures and techniques. Keep it realistic Alex!
Use what ya like, and try something new if you are feeling frisky
Best fishing channel on UA-cam
Yes, I am into trying new things. As long as new technology doesn't cost a arm and leg. Lol
i agree with you, arm and leg, nowadays it might cost a liver, gall bladder etc.😊
Who doesn't like some roughage with there panfish.😂👍
Nice pencil float Alex, I use the fragile orange too, blk bottom for stained water, and a white bottom green top for less stained water to clear.i use it to throw my float and flies, and without the bobber ,I couldn't cast 5 ft.but with it,I can easily get out off the bank to some bridge shade or deeper pond middle depths to catch em.Go Alex!💥🎣🤙
More great content! Thanks for bringing us along on your realistic fishing adventure!
I think you were right. The float seems to be marked 1.25g to indicate the same weight jig head which will sink the float to the exact depth to show only the orange portion. Another nice video Alex.
Wow ifish has some great products!! Love the sleek design of the bobber. And it definitely was successful. Those may not have been giant bluegills but they were nice nonetheless!! Thank you for testing it out and for always keeping it realistic Alex 🎣
That last Bluegill was beautiful!!! Awesome color patterns!!! Looks like those bobbers work super well 👍 👌
Nice Video! Nice float! Thanks for sharing and keeping it realistic!
For anyone interested, the package of two floats and the jig heads is $10. There are 1g and 1.25g options on their site. I've used the 1g floats for Bluegill lately and really enjoy them, even though I've been using a small hook and live bait instead of the 1g jig head
Great day for a first time rig!
Interesting float rig. I have a few that are similar and have never used them. Great vid Alex.
Great video Alex catch you in the next one my friend!!!!
Nice working bobber Going to order one today. Panfish are my favorite to catch.
Good video Alex, nice review of the bobber
Good looking float. I went from the old round ones to the cigar floats then to the Thill brand very similar to that float you were using. Great video Alex.
Hard fishing up here in Pennsylvania for the last 2 weeks.
Great show Alex
Awesome awesome as always my friend Alex ❤
I wish I could convey the sense of joy I experienced seeing that a new video posted! Go get em!
Went and checked out the jigs and floats. Cool heads and floats.
These floats are common in Europe. I use 5g ones and with 3g split lead shoot in button pattern down to hook with earthworms or 5-6 maggots.
Some pro float fisherman can rig 4.5g on 5g float for super sensitive rigs, but if fish can sink float, i like 1-2g differance for visibility.
Some float can go up to 15g for fast flowing rivers.
I was using gulp minnows yesterday afternoon. The fish were so small they couldn't pull float under
Nice blue gill. The water is still a little cold here in Oklahoma. Call a couple of fish this year. Still waiting for it to get going
Good float, I fished today and only caught a crappie and shellcracker, hope the bite picks up. 👍
You should try micro crankbaits or micro jerkbaits i love using those with ultra light you can get lots of species on them too
He has, one of his favorite is a micro jerkbait called the selmo minnow. I've seen him once go in the lake to retrieve it when it got hung. Go watch some of his other vids.
Nice, I need to try it sometime.
Great video brother, thanks for keeping it realistic!!
I like the adaptability you have! Tight Lines!
Nice video Alex.
Looks like a deadly combo !
I will have to try it again!
Alex I've been using Thrill flots, and bite intergaiters,
keeping it simple and catching fish. Love it ! Stay safe
Yes, terrific fish!
Nice fishing glad everything worked great for you float looked pretty good
Good stuff, Alex!
For fishing the float around cover or possible hangups rig your reel with a size or so heavier line like 4lb and under the float tie your hook or jig on with 2lb line using something like a uni knot then if you get hung up on cover or rocks you should break off the 2lb "leader" line and still be able to recover your float only losing the jig hopefully.
I have had 2 banger trips with I_fish floats. I think i am spoiled
Im not sure how the float size thing works either. When i slip bob, i use a little bit larger float, but i use a few split shots to keep my bait from swimming to where i dont want it.
Never seen a bobber attach that way previously.
Hello from Greece. I really like your videos. These floats in europe are used for bolognese fishing with long telescopic rods. The rubber stopers on the stem of the float should be 3 and are placed at the top midle section and bottom .The one at the bottom end should be a little bigger so it covers a bit of a line and prevents the twisting of the line on the stem of the float......
Hello Greece, this is i_fish. I know the bolognese floats but this is NOT a bolognese float. These are not rubber stoppers but silicone tubing, and you don't need 3, you don't even need two, you only need one. The second is provided only as insurance, in case the first one breaks. The float fishing here is pretty different, the fish are different, and the tackle is also different. If i go float fishing with a 4 meter telescope here, everyone will think i am crazy.
Thank you for your reply and for explaining to me the difference. The float works really well. Keep up the good work!!!
Nice!
Had my first trip out Monday and got 4 bass 👍👍. Used a few tips from you my friend 👍. Keep it realistic… do you have a link to those bg1 ‘s ?
I'm like 1 IQ I'd never figure that out but IFish seems like a cool dude in all your videos
He is a technical guy
SUBSCRIBE!
Imt blind in one eye so I use a bit bigger of a bobber or cast closer. 👍👍👍😄😄😄
I have a similar float, but it doesn't seem as petite as this one.
KIR y’all.
Whats a good ultralight rod and reel
