  • We have a look at the brand new BSA Shadow Black, special edition on the BSA stand at Motorcycle Live 2023 at the NEC in Birmingham.
This stunning modern classic motorcycle has a more blacked-out paint finish, with accents of silver. It is a real head-turner! It is priced at less than the other paint finishes too! A real bargain! We loved it!
We also show the original BSA Gold Star from the old days! What a stunning classic motorcycle that is!
Let us know in the comments section whether you'd like to see us review the Shadow Black model!
We reviewed the BSA Gold Star a number of times on the channel. Check out those videos to find out how it rides! Unfortunately, no sight of the BSA Scrambler.

I was admiring the shadow black edition while you were filming this yesterday. It's definitely the one I'd go for and the cheapest too. Very tempting.

I bumped in to you on Monday at the Norton stand had a quick chat. Of all the mega expensive bikes, I thought the Black BSA Goldstar was the standout bike for me, be getting one of them, just needs a tail tidy and bar end mirrors 👍

It's a beautiful looking bike but there's one thing that I really dislike about this bike. It's the engine cover. Ol' Man mentioned the same in one of the previous videos featuring BSA and he couldn't be more correct.
Thank you Mr. Darcy for providing us with a sneak peak into the NEC in Birmingham, I'll be there on Saturday.
I hope that manufacturers listened to the Ol' Man and there are few new models with proper mudguards and centred dials!
Thank you for another great review.

I liked the chrome finished bikes when they first came out and still do, but the black finish looks simpler and I like it.

Hard to choose between the Black and Legacy editions, they both look great. Shame the black one hasn't got the polished engine casings but it is £1000 cheaper. Would be nice to have one of each.😊

Good strategic move to make a financially more accessible motorcycle by blacking it out. This worked well for Ducati with the „Dark“ versions because chrome and real paint costs more.

Definitely like the black better. I’m not a fan of chrome. Easy pick for me. The silver sheen looks good, and for those who like a little shine, it looks a good option.

I'm shouting out from Oklahoma USA and I'm pretty sure everyone here owns Harley, Honda or BMW and a scattering of the other big three mostly in the form of rice rockets. We've had four motorcycle deaths in our city alone in the past two months. There is however a class here that like the Keanu Reeves models er i guess Cafe bikes? And I've seen them here in the 'hip' areas but not many. I like the bike but if I were going to be hip . . It's bmw or motoguzzi. Stay cool ride safe! I enjoy your videos.

Beautiful, traditionally styled MOTORbikes! The glorious black version is particularly stunning and I am happy it is not the fugly flat(ass) black that here in the USA is called "murdered out". HD did this so often than it's as if it spread like the offspring of close relatives at family reunions. They multiply like rabbits as they are wont to do and so too did the fugly "murdered out" HDs throughout their "family" lineup.
The silver version is also quite loverly and is an excellent contrast to the black BSA. We here in the "colonies" will probably never see these on our roads. I can comfort myself with a touch of "sour grapes" (LOL!) by mentioning they've got balloons in their tires so I wouldn't buy one anyway. ;-)

It seems strange that they are making special editions when most people have had no opportunity to actually see one at a local dealer due to their not being a local dealer... Odd way to run a business.

One of the things I love about this bike is its a Rotax Designed Engine, Rotax designs good engines, Buell used a Rotax Engine in its 1125r a 140 HP V Twin, many many and I mean a lot of Air Planes use Rotax Engines medium and small planes, they have been making engines for over 60 years this is a very good engine. I like this bike.

Must say that the old, original chrome one, towards the end of the video, knocks spots off the new ones, is terms of aesthetics, even though the new ones are undoubtably more capable in the real world.

my first motorcycle was a 1967 BSA 650 Hornet in 1972. it was chopped it had 3 different thread bolts, metric, SAE and Whitworth Spanners. Areal learning experience.

When one of your friends asks you "Do you mind me asking what you paid for your bike"? and your answer is, "not as much as the three socket sets and three rolls of spanners that I need to work on it", you've got to wonder about your choices.

The trouble for me is whenever an original BSA is shown next to the new one the original still in a class above. Although a competitive price the new BSA does not offer enough to me to replace my 865 Bonneville or add to the stable of bikes. Maybe if they offered a scrambler variant?

I do like the black one, though polished engine cases would have been better. And if they insisted on painted engine cases they should have gone gloss black.
The mat black exhaust looks a bit cheap as well. A stainless system would have been better. And I see they still haven;t addressed that humungous radiator.
Still, for the money, they're fine looking bikes. As long as they don't turn orange when exposed to the British climate.. I still have serious misgivings about that on the BSAs and the Enfields.

@@splodge5714 Don't be ridiculous, I have owned dozens of bikes, over 40 actually and have no problem with radiators but this one is ridiculously out of proportion to the BSA. My 690 is in a far higher state of tune but has a much smaller radiator than that monstrous thing. The BSA radiator is bigger than the radiator on a Triumph 1200 . I suggest you take a visit to Specsavers if you cant see that.
