Honestly that's not a bad price for what you are getting. A lot of it is how well thought out it is. I think this is a great base for a very solid kit.
Your reviews seem pretty honest, I prefer to build my own bags l just don't really trust most prepackaged kits. I am in Canada so to buy American is more expensive for us. Plus most items that we have access to is made in China. But one thing that I learned years ago, is you have to carry bullion cubes and tea or coffee very comforting items if the need be.
While I can certainly appreciate a pre-made kit I always prefer to put together my own. That being said , I always enjoy watching these so I can see what others include in their kits. I need to replace the compass in my edc bag. Sadly mine just broke. Keep up the good work and thank you.
I am a believer of the "there is no perfect off the shelf survival kit" group. This kit doesn't seem terribly bad as a base kit to build off of, but would like to see some better equipment and additional items. For example, like you mentioned, better water filtration, a solid knife or hatchet. I would add additional items on the med kit side like a splint, gloves, blood clot and tourniquet. Also has anyone that makes these kits ever use one of the wire saws on more than 2 branches? They break! Every time I see them in a kit I cringe! Get a saw or one of the chain saw blade pull saws. I live in Alaska, including 2 years in Fairbanks where I have been in as cold as -48f. This kit alone will not help you in a plane or car crash. If you are in one of those two, expect to have broken bones, blood loss, and if it is winter... arctic temps. Many vehicle accidents are caused by moose up here, unless you are in a semi truck, if you survive you have to expect the integrity of the vehicle compromised as well. A newer emergency radio would be nice too, one that is able to charge a phone for when you get into cell range. Up here we often have sat phones too, much of Alaska is not under cell service. To end it, I don't know if I can beat $324 to build a kit, but I will have a kit that exhibits better quality items! All in all great video and keep them coming, not trying to bash you or the equipment.... For you being in Texas this may be a more relevant kit.
Honestly, great price for all that + the info. Would add: 2 full tang knives, single walled canteen/water bottle, bandana, more cordage, tourniquet’s, and a change of clothes.
Snake bite venom extraction kits were very common when I was growing up. And people carried them where I grew up in Idaho and at Camp Pendleton. Diamondback rattler encounters were not uncommon. For an aircraft, off-road vehicle, kit I think this kit works well. In an airplane weight is an issue and a kit is a last ditch tool. Off-road, you should have a knife, saw, shovel, maybe an axe, water filter, etc anyway, the survival kit is a back-up/supplement.
Oh, again from Gunny Reed. You and I need to get together in the Spring and drink our way down the bourbon trail. I live an hour north of Louisville, Kentucky SEMPER FI again brother, Gunny Reed
You are my goto when it comes to kit's If I may suggest adding small amount of bird seed, with slam trap , snare whip it will bring not only birds but squirrels. Thanks for the vids, peace and good health
200 Bucks for a survival, bugout or gethome bag is a good amount + a knife and multitool of your choice. I have one fundamental problem with all prepacket bags I´ve seen. They have no space inside for clothes or waterbottles or all the other stuff you can "find" on your way. That´s also the reason why I have a jute-bag in my pack and a small towel, you can always use a towel.
Great video brother! However, Don't use the venom extractor!! They don't work. When you're snake bit the venom will already be deep in your bloodstream seconds after. On that note anyone who spend time in the back country should own a pair of snakeproof chaps.
That's one of the best pre-made kits I've seen reviewed. And the lack of Chinese products is very impressive. Your right about it needed a sturdy fixed and life straw like product. Good review
A great kit to throw in your vehicle for emergencies, the first aid kit could help someone that has serious bleeding which is good, but it’s definitely not a bug out bag
this is the 1st one of these id actually buy, only things id add would be a bottle kit, a fixed blade, and maybe swap the signal panel for a grabber\arcturis\pathfinder weather survival tarp, a shemagh, a better light, work gloves, and whatever weather gear is appropriate. seems like a good trunk bag to get home or even bug out in a limited capacity.
I have the Military Scout Survival tin kit by them, but I took the components out of the tin and put them AlokSak bag. Speaking of friendly trade partners, a lot of Best Glide's components both in house and outsourced do possess NSN part designations. Not a bad kit, but with a water filter, folding saw, fixed blade knife, Celox( QUIK CLOT) gauze and a tourniquet, a plastic painters disposal drop cloth, and another SOL HEAT SHEET, would make it slightly better. Thanks for sharing, you Mighty Awesome Devil Dog. ERRAH!!! BATTALION!
Enjoyed this kit appraisal from you. Like to put together my own, but this seems like a good start for someone that simply wants to purchase something that's good to go, for the most part anyway. Keep up the good work with these reviews please.
Good review, I think you were on the money with the cups canteen but would go a step further and add a metal canteen that nestles with the cup. Also agree on the knife issue, not much to add a Mora of some sort. Cheers Stu NZ
SEMPER FIDELIS, brother I think that this is a good kit for beginners. It looks like a good base kit. But like the others have said, it's lacking in redundancy. It does have lots of matches. But is missing in other parts of the bag. I think that it is worth the $365.00 price. P.s. Cordura nylon is pronounced, Cor-dur-A. SEMPER FI again, Gunny Reed
I'm surprised there's no latex gloves or Moleskin in the medkit and no filtration...like a Sawyer or a Lifestraw.. A Morakniv would be my choice for a knife to add to that along with a headlamp.
Any serious survival kit should contain a Garmin InReach Mini 2, Satellite Communicator and PLB or equivalent, and a laser flare, visible night and day!
"Perfect survival kit" doesn't exist, particularly as a COTS solution. I do think comes very close. And I want to see anyone complaining about this price actually do it for less at $15/hour for their time. After inspecting and modding this, I would certainly put an inventory sheet by module at the top, and slip sheets into each module that has the name in BIG BOLD FRIENDLY letter and the modules' contents. Yay for having an actual first aid kit and not a damn IFAK- given that this was designed for a back country aviation bag, if you can't get some on on the radio odds are anything you need a TQ or chest seals for you'll be gone before they find you. The book is the SAS survival guide in pocket format- best call possible. Agreed, there are other, better Swiss Army options. But if you add a pruning saw, EMT shears and a pair of manicure scissors for fine work, plus the multitool which should be on your belt, you're covered. Other things I'd add would be a pot as you did, headlamp, a full roll of duct tape, another Heatsheet, some cordage, gloves and a Mora. Head nets plus the deet, and a second whistle on the theory of it is tiny, small, and passengers are common. Properly repacked it should fit. Price wise, again, unless your time has no value, the price is not unrealistic. I could probably match the price, but my time is worth quite a bit more than that 15/hour, and as a capitalist I respect their desire to make a profit. Most of those that carry on about that are also failing to acknowledge the intended roll and try to force it to the a GHB or BOB. It isnt. It is a vehicle in remote areas kit, bushpilot type needs. Those guys are no more survivalists than a trucker driving Route 66 through the desert is. This is "unass the rig but stay close" kit. Admittedly, it is in some ways not compliant with the Alaskan and Canadian requirements, but with a few small upgrades it would be. And it would not be a minimal compliance option then.

After watching a few of these videos, the biggest thing I got out of it, no matter the bag, you will have to adapt it to your own needs.

The reason for the three wicks in the candle is warmth. You use all three in a cold weather like trapped in a vehicle during a blizzard.
Not terrible for a pre made kit. Pretty interesting the difference between all these kits

Use orange para cord on everything so you can find it if you drop it.
Probably read that book lol. Quite a bit in there to process water depending on the techniques you know lol.
Gotta have that good cord-a-ru material 🤣👌🏻
Nice video none the less.

You should review guns as well, I’m looking forward to it.
American made guns selection and history would be nice
I'd probably add a Mora or some other fixed blade knife, and a multitool.

What do you think over the Esee kit? Is it worth the Money?

Esee is very pricey because of the awesome knife. I would get this kit and buy an ESEE KNIFE

how about adding a minor surgery kit
