I never watch any work out/training videos but I really enjoying watching yours. Im 41 and a woman so definitely outside of your demographic but i really like your honesty and your humour actually motivates me to try things I haven't done. I use to do HITT and ballet and pole dance but then I had a back injury 2yrs ago so I had to start from 0 just walking without pain and can now climb stairs without dying in pain. I'm hoping to add running on the treadmill for 15-30mins to see how that goes. Also as Canadian who now lives in Calgary, I have to support you. I'm happy to see you feeling great.
I grew up swimming competitively. It was always said that missing one day took a week to gain back. Could have just been our coach scaring us into never skipping.
Could be a spinal stress fracture... they are sometimes so subliminal they can be missed until it's incredibly worsened. Are you able to ask he if can check this at all? it's just this is how they start... unexplained pain in the back with 'nothing wrong' :( glad you are feeling happy though!
I highly highly recommend you do some physical therapy. Falls put the body in odd positions and can cause lock ups that are muscular. A physical therapist would assist in helping the muscle relax by also targeting other muscles having an impact (most likely hip flexor, psoas, glute max.)I have disc herniations and suffer from low back muscle pain that is relived mainly from other mothers also being worked on that have an influence on the alignment of my pelvis etc. Also they would probably help you strengthen some tiny muscles that will help you overall!!!
Hey man, thanks for these videos. My kid has been going through chemo and I haven’t been taking time to work out. Her last treatment is this weekend and these videos got me back on the horse as she kicked this diseases ass.
Honestly Cody inspired me to start exercising more seriously for the first time in my life and I'm planning on running my first half marathon in April. I now have "energy is everything" spelled out on my fridge filled with blueberries and ordered my first toy train 2 days ago. Thank you Cody trains.
Cody idk if you’ve tried it but you should definitely go see a Physiotherapist for your back pain. If it’s not a nerve or fracture issue and is really more due to the tissues and muscles, it’s probably the best bet for recovery
my comment will probably get buried under everything else, but i just wanted to congratulate you for all that you have accomplished and continue to do every single day with your workouts. also, i want to thank you for creating this channel and an environment where we can celebrate the big w's + get through the tough ones that come our way together. it is comforting to see that everyone has their good days and the not-so-good ones and it's all normal! i have been overweight all my life and tried everything but got no results. finally, in the last four months i got the time to actually invest a couple of hours everyday into working out and have been at it regularly.. while i used to think "results" is just weight loss and getting in shape, these last couple of months have taught me about all the other positive aspects it has to offer - overall better mental health, feeling more comfortable in my own skin, having something to look forward to/get out of the bed everyday and above all, a community of people that just are there by you to hype you up and pat you on the back at every step. as a long time watcher of the main channel and the pod, it makes me so happy to see the audience you've built here and am so grateful to be by y'all on this path. choo-choo! :")
Hey Cody here’s something that you may want to add to your training, and that is building your core. I’ve been adding that toy training regime and it’s helped so much for my form and overall strength. You really just need a constant 10 minutes of core exercises and that will help immensely if you do it daily. I’ve been running competitively for a while and this is a giant improvement that I’ve seen. Good luck with everything!
Agreed! I feel like he needs to incorporate some simple/light resistance training. Weight training is great for athletes who don’t typically lift to help strengthen the whole body.
Just tore my acl playing soccer and hearing the quote: "never take an abled body for granted". Hits so much rn. Thanks for the much needed positivity and motivation in your videos Cody!
I’m 30 weeks pregnant and this pregnancy has been rough and has kept me from being able to do much working out. But once I pop this baby out, I’m guna recover, and get back at it, and stay motivated with Cody Trains 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! I know the recovery tends to be rough for most people but especially if youre used to being active. Be patient with yourself and go at your bodies pace. Your body is incredible and is growing a human, you got this 🖤

For months, heck maybe even a year, my knee was killing me despite all of my scans/X-rays/MRIs coming back clean. I did PT for months and saw minimal improvement. One day I went to the gym and just decided to workout as if it didn’t hurt, and it didn’t hurt. I think I went into every workout before anticipating the pain with the movements, when I stopped that, so did the pain.
This channel has helped me more than you could ever know, Cody. I am auditioning for Circus school this month and I have been watching these when I lose motivation...thank you!!!
Well, this is fun. I have my first iron-man scheduled for September, so it’s nice to be able to watch someone like Cody as he prepares for something of that size. Gives me a lot of motivation and reassurance that I don’t have to be David Goggins to push the limits. Love the bike and the content Cody!
cody, this is gonna sound so sappy but you inspired me to go on my first run. it was actually really fun, I felt accomplished even just doing one mile. ive been running on a schedule and have never felt better. this channel is so great and refreshing. love you code
I think you’d have way more fun on the bike if you got in more outdoor riding on a more comfortable bike. You can do good zone 2 work outdoors on an endurance or gravel bike and it’ll be much more enjoyable!
This right here is why biking winds up being expensive and annoying if you want to do races, live in a car dependent hellscape like LA, and want to enjoy it. It’s one of my favourite things to do but needing at least two bikes to do so is irritating af.
i don’t even know what we’re training for during this comeback arc but i’m down for it never to end. i need it to get more and more obscure with the inside jokes so we can start calling people normies. thanks for the content Cody. we ascend together.
Cody someone mentioned this before. You need a physical therapist as a first to-go guy. I've been running for like 20 years and literally everytime I had something, I saw him first. In like 90% of the time, after 2-4 weeks (2 sessions a week), whatever issue I had, is gone. If he notices that something is wrong ,he sends me to an MRI immediately but normally, this is not needed.
Short after Cody injured himself I had an injury too. I had gone from couch to 15k hoping to complete a half-marathon before the year ended and have been feeling fucking gutted bc I won't be able to. This video cheered me up a lot, It's kinda dumb but, it made me feel like it's not that big of a deal and that everything's ok. Had to share, choo choo!
Want to send a word of appreciation to the editor for putting the time into creating a mock-up poster just for the concept of hell day and jet skiing on molly
When I found this channel, I was also like “what is a b’doat” “we ascend together?” But then i binged from the beginning and I am COMMITTED. Energy IS in fact everything (I say that shit everyday now)
The doctors gave me 5 weeks left to live but then I found your channel and was inspired to start my stair master journey. I am now able to master all levels of stairs, I am cured of all my illnesses and the doctors said I should live for another 80 years thanks Cody
As someone who got injured from overuse running last year, and is getting back to running now, I am livingggg for this episode!!! Such a big part of training and I’m stoked to see Cody pushing through it and I’m inspired and we are BACK!!!!!!!!! 😤😤😤😤😤
I literally had a scan like 2 weeks ago and the doctor said I had muscle spams because I thought it was my spine so I was over comping trying to protect the sore area.. after physio treatment one time I am a new man!
Hey Cody, love this process. Only thing I'm worried about is the biking. I'm a national champion in the 70 km bike race in my country. I've trained a lot indoors, but outdoor biking is quite different. Air resistance plays a big role where im from. You should train outside with different routes in my opinion. Otherwise you got this!!! Love the process, and keep rocking dude!!!
i was healthy my whole life and then got diagnosed with leukemia 2 years ago. i’m 16 now and jesus.. all i can say is don’t take health for granted like you said. you never know when something will happen and take it away from you

ur back pain could be a result of you not stretching your hamstrings, if you just started biking i wouldn’t be surprised if your hamstrings where very tight and pulling on the muscles in your back
i've been watching cody since vine, this is the most comfortable I've ever seen him in his own skin. he couldnt be more himself.
Same!! And this video came at a perfect time because I'm wearing my new Cody merch I got for Christmas too!
yeah not even parasocial it made me happy to see this thumbo in my feed. i love him and his gf so much, they seem like genuine people

That is unusual to have a totally unremarkable MRI.
I have my MS in Kinesiology with a focus on sports conditioning and corrective exercise. Would be willing to do a posture and movement assessment to determine what could be contributing to your pain/discomfort. Or that’s what I would suggest! Probably just lacking stability and/or mobility
You could definitely stretch more. Would probably help the back.
Cody's arms are harrier than I expected and....it's making me uncomfortable.
Your quads/hip flexors/IT band are probably too tight and pulling your back outta wack. Gotta do some major stretch and rolling out while your muscles are warm
you should do a Cody-and-Noel-do rock climbing or bouldering once your back stops hurting so much,, I just started climbing a few months ago and it's the fastest way to get strong af
I was today years old when I found out about this channel.
Also just finished morning workout, so I think YT is tracking my activity 👀
you should do some black/foam roll post workout routine, helpf with tissue aches and thus recovery and avoiding injuries
Get your psoas worked on by a physical therapist or massage therapist. Sometimes, issues with your hip flexors can lead to back pain. Good luck!
Stop making exercising exciting your messing with my philosophy. Also glad ur happy
ur back pain could be a result of you not stretching your hamstrings, if you just started biking i wouldn’t be surprised if your hamstrings where very tight and pulling on the muscles in your back
Put your head back more when you’re doing backstroke! It will help arm rotating flotation
Does anyone have any advice on how to actually get motivated to workout? Like wathcing Cody be motivated is awesome but I'm like, that couldn't be me.
If you're experiencing saddle issues, I recommend getting a bike fit and you'll probably be recommended a saddle that has less soft tissue pressure
