Just returned from France using my "old" GO 520. For some reason the "lady" that tells me where to turn etc. stopped talking. I searched the manual for the voice on/off switch - no switch in manual. I went through all the settings; only found other voices and volume - but no on/off switch. I used the "voice control" to lower and raise the volume with no luck (surely raising the volume should have switched the voice on - ??????) After cursing TomTom for a day or two I found the "switch" which ONLY APPEARS when a route is set under the 3 dots which brings up the volume slider and 2 buttons to the right of it (the slider) - one being the voice switch..... (Still have no idea what the other is!) Why oh why is TomTom so inefficient with their instructions? Why couldn't this switch simply be part of the voice settings and also placed in the voice control menu. Also, why is this NOT mentioned in the "Manual"?
Why has the navigate to point on map disappeared from my new and useless TomTom 😳 and can I download it ? Any help you can offer would be most appreciated , thank you
Like a churl, I forgot to mention some of the things I believe TomTom got right. One thing in particular is the posting of icons of items of interest on the trip bar (gas, rest, ...). The "Fastest Route" A. I. machine, very good before, appears to be even better, impressive. I still yearn for the full operation interface on my PC that we had on previous devices. I also look forward to getting what interface is available working, I find the PC interface much easier to deal with than touch screens.
when adding a postcode sr33al its is not correct also there is 7 multi tower blocks missing the postcode as to google which is correct is that of Amalfi Towers

Hi, My TomTom One was on its final legs after many years of use. I've just upgraded to the Go 400 but i am curious to know if there is a way that i can enter part of a UK post (i.e. NW10) and then search for the road name in that particular area, just like my TomTom One did. When using the Go, if i use a common UK road name like 'station road' i get every 'station road' from everywhere, but i would like to search for specific roads in the area i am in. Is this possible?
a bit of a pain with my new GO 600. expected voice control. have to get used to mobile connection always on. shall see. I think tomtom got a bit spoilt and is really not pulling its weight. there will be competition more and more, I am sure.
Personally I think TomTom customer service is great. It's all relative to the person and the problem. It depends how patient you are and if you take into consideration how many customers they have and how many emails they receive every day. It's not like going into your local branch of currys and speaking to someone. I had a problem and it was fixed within a couple of days. Any time I've had to contact them I've had my query resolved in what I call good time. As for Windows 10, if Microsoft shared the source code with software developers then they would be able to write more compatible drivers sooner in time for Windows going public. Take your windows complaint to Microsoft, you will probably wait much longer on a reply. I can see here that TomTom has offered help but it has went ignored because of impatience of the customer to get it fixed sooner by someone else. If you need to pay an expert to install a driver then you shouldn't have a computer, it's just going to keep costing you!
Bought a Go 50. It took a whole weekend to initiate itself and load up to date maps . I've got the fastest broadband speed available in this area (50Mb). The timer said 39min to download, that took 2+hrs. Went on to put the new maps on the 50, "not enough space available". Went and purchased an 8GB micro SD card, plug it in and formatted it, "not enough space available". What's going on TomTom? I found that if I installed one update at a time it got the job done. If that's what one has to do, TOMTOM LET PEOPLE KNOW FIRST!!!!

just purchased a GO 60, supposed to be the most upto date TomTom, but its rubbish, it cannot find any of the postcodes that I have on my tomtom start 25, I have now gone back to using the start 25, much easier to use , the GO 60 is only fit for the Bin !!!

wow some of these comments are really nasty. I need this tom tom because I have severe Dyslexia and the tom tom has saved me from getting lost many times. I just bought the 500 and the only issue I have is it does not show the roads that I am on if it is not programed for a specific location. If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. This is my 4th Tom Tom the first two over heated in south florida the3rd one was great but only holds a charge for 10 minutes but had it for 4 years. This is my 4th one and hopefully I get 4 years use of it as well.

I just want the thing to work as easily as my cell phone. It doesn't. I have to use a 200 page electronic owners manual. The controls are not intuitive. just want easy to access maps when I put in two addresses. Will probably send this thing back
I'm disappointed that itineraries have not been readded to the capability. I also need to call customer support to see if we can figure out why data is not being downloaded to my device. I'm not happy with the dumbed-down menu, that came as a surprise to me, seeing as how TomTom's customer base is the more sophisticated users.
Why would u want to change the route.. If you knew where you were going you wouldn't need a GPS. I could understand the device changing the route for you due to traffic.. Other than that I see no point.
hey man. great channel but i would not go near a tomtom and suggests everyone stays away from them! to this day even i feel conned out. so... i purchased a tomtom highspec at the time around 300 pounds with lifetime updates, traffic and maps. 3 years later nothing wrong with the device at all. THEY STOPPED UPDATES FOR ALL OLD MODELS??. they just brought a new one out lol. honestly get one with life time updates and as even thgis reviewer says life time until the product is out dated (around 5 years). work it out if your model came out 2 years ago and you purchased it for a few hundred... its gonna be outed very fast leaving you with a perfectly working device but when the roads change you device wont tell you. WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH AND WASTE OF MONEY. (NICE VIDEO THO)

Thank you for your offer but you are too late. I have had to pay my own expert to sort out a problem your people should have already known about, and have sorted. It is now 12 days since I bought the unit and the promised immediate delivery of a replacement cable has still to arrive. It is not my task to suggest how you should operate your customer reaction. If I ran my company with your level of service I would have gone out of business very quickly. In the rare event of a problem I put a manager onto that task with authority to spend up to the total cost of the product, and to go the extra mile QUICKLY, and then give the customer some small gift to say sorry. That way we kept happy customers and the increase in turnover over successive years is a matter of public record.
Purchased the TomTom60 three days ago. Could not connect to the computer service. Customer Services are utter rubbish. Finally got a computer expert help and discovered that TomTom have made a cock up in their Windows 10 Driver. Had to totally uninstall the TomTom and start again. Installed the driver written by a helpful outsider and it now works. What utter rubbish from TomTom. Customer Services are very unimpressive and not to be trusted. Lesson learned.

The original TomTom was much better. TomTom mydrive connect sucks. You can't get any point of interest that you were accustomed to. I had hard drive failure on another computer so any poi's that I could move to my new TomTom ain't happening. Why not give us the option to not have Canada and not have Mexico so that we have more memory here in the USA.

Adam Welsch Adam, most of us are old Tomtom users for work purposes and these new units are not as good as the older models.

DJ EAZY B - just enter the name of the town you want to search first - then TT will only give you Station Road in that particular town.
