Dragons and other mythical creatures
As a dragon fan, these are, without doubt, the best animated dragons i've ever seen in media. The designs truly show the gracefulness of their species while still making them look intimidating, and i love how each dragon is completely unique and different from the other. Whoever designed them did an amazing job

Smaug is the OG, but these dragons are on another level. That ring of invisibility Bilbo was wearing would not work on them for instance😉. They are also more magical in nature and more active.
How does Deathwing in the WoW Cataclysm cinematic compare?
Well, the dragon cgi has definitely improved! I also like how they went with unique designs instead of the actual designs dragons in dnd; because these designs are brilliant!!
It’s actually pretty in line with the game. The new dragon sourcebook has resources for different variations in dragons.

Looking at how they had to change the names of spells and "Chenga" due to copyright it makes sense that they would change the dragons to not match the art from the D&D or Pathfinder books.

@@sethcourtemanche5738 Drogon wrecked a city defended by bad plot, shoddy equipment, a shoddy fleet, and mercenaries. The chroma conclave destroyed a city with a professional army and mages that know magic beyond any shown in GoT are capable of. Beyond that is with the brutality with which they did it in the first place.

Watch Gomorrah from the Bayonetta series. Bro was devouring angels, surfing buildings, knocking souls out of witches, wiped out an army of super soldiers like it was nothing, and had both a King Kong moment AND a Godzilla moment. And this is all in his base form.

Not an expert on Dnd, but i am not sure... how many dragons are there at any given time?
@@giacomoromano8842 potentially many, but dragons take centuries to get this powerful, and they are also normally so competetive with eachother they never team up. Until one potentially gets powerful enough to put others to heel, as we see here.
@@giacomoromano8842 to add to the other guys comment, there were once alot more, a grand dragon empire, but they waged a war against the giants, the only civilization that could challenge them, and it was basically mutually assured destruction. There are even remnants of their past strength in far off world's, with an entire army of red dragons having been lent to the space raiding Gilth when Tiamat, goddess of the chromatic dragons, was in her prime.

Well yeah, these dragons could breath ice, exhale the equivalent of mustard gas, or upchuck acid/create an acid rain, or even get the equivalent of Shin Godzilla
@@VegetaLF7 True. Drogon was only a few years old and was a mindless beast that took orders from his rider. These ancient dragons, on the other hand, are larger, more powerful, and are sentient. Because of their sentience, these dragons don't need to take orders from a crazed rider to cause mayhem and chaos. Because of their advanced age, they have centuries of experience, which makes them even more dangerous.
@@GPBA89 Exactly. They're closer to the likes of Smaug in the Hobbit. Immense, unbelievable power matched with an intelligence to rival it and a cruelty that follows suit. The only way you're going up from there in terms of sheer power is if you start getting into dealing with the gods themselves.
Props to the animators. Those dragons looked fantastic and blended in well with the animation. What a step up from S1
Vox Machina Dragons are just on a different level. I love it.
As a monster hunter player we get all kinds of dragons. Gore Magala the Eclipse. Namiele the Abyssal Terror
Kirin the Lighting Strike. Kushala Daora the Fierce Gale.
And the dragon couple teostra and Lunastra.
All powerful in their own right. But these things? I haven't been this terrified of a dragon since Alatreon the Desolate. A dragon with five different elements surging through it's body.

If I was there and saw five dragons heading my way, I'll be packing up my things and getting away as far as I can. I've seen a lot of destructions in anime and TV shows but nothing compares to this.
Remember the times the DM sent a dragon at the town we were staying at? Well... this just showed what happened to the folk
This was literally Smaug vs Dale and Erebor times 4. Really puts in perspective the potential of dragons in fantasy settings.
They are literal kaiju/weapons of mass destruction with a will of their own. I’ve never seen such a hopelessly one sided display of power like this since Deathwing’s emergence in World of Warcraft.

Umbrasyl just dripping acid off its body and wings as it flies around just adds so much to this dragon's design and makes it even more terrifying.

Well, I love Silver Dragons. But in Critical Role, there's no sign of Metallic Dragons, but one. Only J'mon Sa Ord, an ancient Brass Dragon.
The fact some dnd dragons can take up human form is wild, and they still have that strength and abilities 😬

Props to Kima and Allura for landing hits that Umbrasyl actually felt. With the infamous “19 misses” and Vorugal fully ignoring Percy’s bullets, even immobilizing and annoying one of them for a few seconds is pretty impressive considering they were caught completely off guard.
In fairness, they both were part of the party that took down Thordak previously, they're high level adventureres in their own right.

Hey critical roll enthusiasts I don’t know much about the game or story itself but dragons are primarily solitary right, So how have FOUR of them teamed up without tearing each other apart?

Well not all of them get along necessarily. You'll see.

Thordak(Red) was imprisoned and Raishan(green) freed him as part of a trade deal between the two of them, the other ones were just to insure the destrudtion of Tal'dorei (as they mentioned in the series Brimscythe as Kreig weakened the army of Emon) though as you will see throughout the story they all still have their own motives. Also in the original game there is a difference between chromatic(the conclave) and metallic(bronze,copper,silver,etc.) dragons chromatic dragons are the prideful solitary types while metallic will sometimes be helpful to people.
Thordak is the alpha, he is the strongest of all and just forces cooperation with benefits. (Raishan is the exception)

And this is what we will see in the Dance of Dragons (House of the Dragon) with the two traitors (I will not give names) but they have two of the biggest dragons in the world and then there is the madman Aemond burning the Riverlands. That is why I have always been afraid of Dragons, since as long as they are numerous and large, nothing seems to stop them, don't bother me, only with magic or high technology could you stop them or other dragons.
And Dany's Drogon was tiny compared to some of the Dragons in Dragon House.
And everyone of those dragons are children compared to these monsters

I wonder how the chroma conclave would do against elden ring bosses like placidusax and fortissax.
Also wonder how they'd go against the likes of Deathwing, King Ghidorah, and Alduin. While Deathwing and Alduin's destructive level isn't as high as these 4, their power level is still high, so does Ghidorah.

Orange guy looks like they could be a hobgoblin, but possibly an orc if their skin doesn't have to be green. The green one looks to be a tiefling but green tieflings are, to mu knowledge, unheard of. That said, The Legend of Vox Machina has taken several steps to distance itself from DnD so as not to infringe on copyright so they may technically be neither and both.
Hope the remaining people will be able to come back to the city

Dragon spits green gas that melts skin off of everyone standing in it. Yet crazy how magic wizard lady and the main cast are some how magically immune to it and run and stand directly in it with absolutely no downside. Great writing.
Take a look at DnD and how much health a commoner has. Compare that to your average high-level adventurer and you have your answer.

Just like Season 1 last year, they're doing batches of 3 episodes each week. Episodes 1-3 just dropped, next week will be 4-6, then 7-9, and then 10-12.
