Thanks for the video. I need to do this on a different piano, would I need the port to match the piano, (from the manufacturer) or are they universal same ports plz?

Hi FishFreq. Thanks for your very helpful video. My piano was going back and forth from sustain always on, or always off. It got worse with time. So got my YPG 635 all taken apart. The sustain pedal jack connector inside does not appear loose, but when I insert the sustain pedal tip the connection feels a bit spongy. Should I replace the logic board? What would your advice be? Thanks very much!
So if you've got it all apart, and your sustain pedal jack is totally tight on the logic board, in other words, the soldier is not damaged, then there could be a worn out internal contact that might mean the entire logic board needs replacement @Duffrowden.
hey @FishFreq, I have the same model keyboard as you but a different problem, one of my "A" keys sound too loud no matter how lightly I press it. I'm trying to take it apart and clean the connections but I can't seem to pull away the black plastic part and make the 88 keys accessible to be removed, have you tried this before? Is there a specific way to do it? You'd be a lifesaver if you can answer me this, thanks !
Sorry @DxHuman but I don't know of a solution, never ran into that problem myself, and I don't see many posts on repairing our keyboards, that's why I posted this. Did you fix yours? Did you try a heat gun to separate the adhesive? Start at a gentle heat and build up from there. You should post a vid if you figured that one out...
I am wondering if this repair will also work on a Yamaha, the model says... Psr-e343? Can't get a sustain pedal to work at all. Thanks!
GT.HOMEPC I'd like to say it most certainly will GT, but since I don't know if your keyboard has been run over by a truck, the best answer is you'll have to take it apart to find out. On mine the sustain pedal would work occasionally if I moved the cable a little here or there. First I thought it was the cable, so I re-spliced on a new 1/4" mono headphone jack and that did nothing, proving that it was the sustain jack's connection internally that needed fixing. Nothing more annoying than an intermittent sustain pedal!
Thanks! We tried a long shot, and have a solution. We called a keyboard fanatic we know, who brought us her sustain pedal, and it worked, while the girl's and ours didn't. We have ordered a new jack and a different sustain pedal. Thanks for reply!

Wish I could help you with that but until you take it apart and see what's wrong with those keys it's anyone's guess...
