Thanks for the lesson bro'! You are good teacher, I actually was able to understand this for the first time. I usually follow some long explanations but grasp nothing. This video is shot and straight to the point.
Ive had this keyboard for years but always recorded the tracks for my different instruments on the computer. This was helpful to learn what it can do within the keyboard itself
HUGE THUMBS UP!! Just bought 2nd hand YPG 235 in excellent condition for $70 from offer up. Looked for months. This easy recording is why I was patient ..THANK YOU!!!!!!
Finally!! I've had a 235 for a few years now and had been searching for video help. Thanks millions!! One thing I still have trouble with is saving voice to the memory banks. How about a video showing how to do that? Your other vids have helped tremendously!!
I was so frustrated! I just got one and could not figure it out. I bought it used so it didn't come with a manual or anything. Thank you so much for the help! You made it super easy to follow with clear direction and demonstration! ❤
:)...thanks so much...I've had this keyboard for about 5 years...I was just happy to figure out the voices...But, you've shown me how versatile this baby is...It's a great music tool! Way better than my drums! :) Health and freedom to you and yours!
great job... some tips... move the camera out further so you capture the whole area so you dont have to move the camera to show things. In post production, you can zoom in using software. Also, maybe add in how to lay down a whole song using the 5 tracks to show how you set a beat, add the different music and keep it timed correctly.
Can’t thank u enough for this video. I’ve come back to it many times. Recording isn’t something I do often but when I do I’m thankful you’re in my saved videos 😎👍! Much appreciated
I have been searching for a video like this for a long time and finally found it. Thanks for all the help! I probably would still be trying to press random buttons if I didn't come across this one. :D
Thanks for doing these, very helpful. However cannot seem to get a drum loop to record, all of the other track recordings work exactly as described in your video. I setup acmp for the desired drum loop, select song, press "rec - a" keys and it says rec, the acmp icon is flashing. then I hit start, loop plays, the record process appears to start, it even says at the end "writing" but when it's done there is no icon retained indicating it saved it. playback has no sound. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Great tips bro! This is an awesome keyboard with realistic sounds. I've recorded all my songs s\using this, an electric guitar and a bass. I regret selling it a while ago but ordered another one online, ( that's currently out of stock in most places). Keep on rockin bro!
Hi my name is Tasha. I'm not sure if you are afraid of or hate black people or not. But if I could see you right now I'd give you a big ole hug and say thank you so much!!!!!!! This video helped me sooooooooooo much!!!!! I have had this keyboard for over a year. I'm always too busy to put the time in and learn how to work it. I've spent hours trying but I always give up cuz it takes too long. I Tried reading the manual but it's just too much! But you my friend have just taught me how to record my own materials on here! I've been trying to figure out how to make and record beats forever. Thanks to you I am on my way! I appreciate your service to not just me but people all over the world. You are what UA-cam is all about. Btw I did hit that like and subscribe button. How could I not? It's the least I can do!
I can't find the record button. I don't know what type of Yamaha it is, the only thing that could indicate it is YTP-200 that is written in the corner of the keyboard. The only buttons I see are: Stand by/On, Master Volume, Lesson Part LR, Song A-H repeat ACMP On/Off, Rew Intro/Ending, Ft Main/Auto Fill, Tempo/Tap, Listen and Learn, Timing, Waiting Chord Dict., Sync Start, Pause, Start/Stop, Song, Style, Voice, Function, Portable Grand, Sound effect Kira Reverb On/Off, 1234567890-+, Demo and Metronome On/Off. There is no record button. Help?
go from the headphone out into the mic jack on your computer,,and then record on what ever software you may be using,,make sure all your levels are down then bring them up in the software
go from the headphone out into the mic jack on your computer,,and then record on what ever software you may be using,,make sure all your levels are down then bring them up in the software
i have tried to press record and track 1 while following the instruction and when I do, it doesn't say record. I have tried everything from following this exactly the way you showed it. from trying every combo of keys I could think of. Is there any reason this may happen?
How do you make a recording with just the drumbeat. Every time that I try to record with just a simple drumbeat, it completely changes my bass notes to some random poppy sound with a completely different beat.
You show a lot of "layered" stuff.....but what about the basics of recording a set of chords and have them loop?? On your other video I saw a LOT of people asking how to loop (repeat) without the frustrating "lead in " beats. We can silence the beats but the time still lags in between repeats. How can we loop cleanly (repeat recorded chording in a loop)
Let's say you want to record drums riff at the beginning of the song, to then continue with the accompaniment recording , can this be done?, been trying and still can't figure out
Coincidentally (like VERY), I just recorded a video on this topic that will post soon! But here's the quick version- One option is to play ONLY on the top half of the keyboard, then cue in the accomp when ready by hitting the lower chord notes. Another option is to go under functions, to settings, and put the split point to zero, allowing you to play on the full keyboard without triggering the accomp. sounds. You could potentially play the whole song with just the drum rhythm, and no accomp sounds. Then, because your tempo is basically locked, you could re-record the drum style, waiting for the right moment to cue in the accomp sounds. Hope this helps a little. I know it seems like it's sort of a "all or none" situation with this keyboard, and it really is. My methods are really just "work-arounds."
@@Films128 thanks a lot for the advice, I have the YPG 535 basically it's the same as the 235, it's a simple kboard but the sound is real good, specially if you know how to operate all those setting, I will try those instructions thanks for your work
Do you happen to know how to input a good hammond b3 sound into the keyboard. One person says you need a computer and usb hookup. Another says usb computer and "tsr" I think it's called.
Can I use my laptop and the usb connector to input a REALLY GOOD HAMMOND B3 SOUND. I cant quite get the right sound on this. Or will my amp help create that sound better
I know how to record one track on my keyboard but it won't let me play both the melody and my chords at the same time. I have a song I've composed and just need to simply record the song into my keyboard. Can you please help? Thanks!
I was recording my songs and it would no longer record. I would try to push the 'record' button it would be greyed out on the screen as if I have disabled the function. Can you please help?? 😣
Thanks! is there any way to have the recording loop/repeat without the intro of 2 measures of the metronome? I will record without the metronome but when I play it back in a loop, it will give 2 measure break in between each repeat...
hello, i need to record only the drums of the style, with no accomaniamient ( in one track) so in the other tracks y would be able to record what i want using the drums y choose from the style menu. how can i do that? thank you
Sadly, the keyboard won't let that happen. It insists on having that accomp sound when recording, not just the drums by themselves. The workaround is to record the drums and anything on track one (even if you just record over it on the next run), without hitting any of the lower keys. Then once that's in recorded and done, you'll have the plain drums all set, and now you can record as normal. Hope that makes sense.
If you are still answering questions, can you please tell me how to record two different instruments in one song. I have had this keyboard for 2 years and I still have no clue how
Thanks! Now I can do the saddest thing on piano ever!
Play a duet alone.
I have watched this a few times and I just wanted to say thank you and you are an excellent teacher.
It's the best tutorial video on how to record a song on keyboard with multiple tracks! You left nothing behind. Thank you!
Thanks for the lesson bro'! You are good teacher, I actually was able to understand this for the first time. I usually follow some long explanations but grasp nothing. This video is shot and straight to the point.
Glad it helped! Thank you for watching!
Ive had this keyboard for years but always recorded the tracks for my different instruments on the computer. This was helpful to learn what it can do within the keyboard itself
1:57 And now, the greatest track of all time.
Shoulda won a Grammy for that track.

Really appreciate the detailed demonstration. You are better than the official video.

Thank you. It was unclear with other tutorials and I finally know how to do it on my PSR-EW310.
Thanks, I've just used this to set up some spooky sounds and music for Trick-or-Treaters

Thank you for putting this video together. I couldn't find the YES and NO button and it was driving me nuts.

Your video is a tremendous help. Thank you!

Wow... finally a tutorial on how to record! Thank you so much :)
Thanks dude I learned something today 👌🏼🤗

Thank you so much for posting this! I was able to put together 2 Melodies that I would have to play with the right hand only but it sounds great now

How do you make a recording with just the drumbeat. Every time that I try to record with just a simple drumbeat, it completely changes my bass notes to some random poppy sound with a completely different beat.
Go into functions, scroll through until you see split point. Turn that all the way to zero! Now when you record, the bassy sounds won't turn on.
Thanks! This really helped!
Nice teaching
how can i add tabla style on this yamaha ypg 230 can u plz make a tutorial ??

Hello, tell me please. Is it possible to transfer a song recorded on Yamaha dgx 220 to a computer?🤔
Thanks, but do you know how to clear all recordings because I’m trying to record and it says.” Mem full “
Got it now, thanks!

Nice💪🔥
Thanks this was really helpful
how do you clear the song memory?
Press A and 1 at the same time. Screen will confirm you're trying to clear that user file. Press yes over on the number pad.
Make sure you hold it
this is a great video but is there any way to make it repeat?
Is there a way to switch the measure you start recording on or do you have to keep recording from the beginning?
It has to start from the beginning. I know it can be really annoying
Sir thank u, it’s very helpfully:))
I know how to record one track on my keyboard but it won't let me play both the melody and my chords at the same time. I have a song I've composed and just need to simply record the song into my keyboard. Can you please help? Thanks!
What is happening that it won't allow you to record your chords at the same time? I'm not sure I understand what's going on.
I finally figured it out. I must have done something wrong the first time. thanks again for your help!
Glad it's working!
I was recording my songs and it would no longer record. I would try to push the 'record' button it would be greyed out on the screen as if I have disabled the function. Can you please help?? 😣
It could be that you are out of memory. If you have some songs already recorded, you may have run out of space.
Thank you it was useful!)
