It's a crap system. I'm in SC after stopping for the night, I'm lucky if it lasts me for 3hrs @ 74deg.

Does Parksmart work better than Opti Idle? I noticed when I was with Crete it didnt seem that the Bunk heater would keep the sleeper warm but in the summer the Opti Idle AC the AC kept the truck cool.

I read in the manual that you have to have your key in the ACC or on position to run off the park smart batteries. Is this true?

At end if know the location of that part is that was located in cab fues box or somewhere else?

It kills engine batteries and there's no disconnect button, not good it's not changing batteries. Imagine 2012 is already have many complex problems not even frightliner mechanics can't get it.

I fucking hate my park smart, after driving for hours on end and I want to sleep it only stays on for 5 minutes then shuts off. Piece of shit

  • @chickenshippfarmsandoutdoo4617

Parksmart are really awful 😖 only last about 3 years then garbage. Batteries are expensive too and the system does nothing but run the bunk ac and heat. At least with a diesel apu you can have power to run z fridge, microwave ect. It will even help keep your truck batteries up. But not a Parksmart....it will keep you cool for 6-8 hours maybe. Good luck if you get stuck doing a 34 in your truck on the road.

Not all accurate, the park smart system will use some start battery power. At the point when the start batteries reach a determined voltage, a mechanical relay isolates the start batteries from the park smart system. Then the start batteries recover some voltage, and the relay connects the start batteries to the system again. Creating a loud "clicking" from the relay that is located underneath your head, under the bunk.this clicking will usually start at about 3:00am. Ensuring you get about 3 to 4 hours of sleep. This clicking will usually continue for the rest of the night...so....sleep tight. At least your temperature is comfortable!

brett patrick i've heard the clicking before but usually I associate that with everything pretty much dying pretty. Meaning none of my lights work inside the truck and I can't charge anything. And it kills my refrigerator. Is that the clicking you talking about?

Total junk really, which in truth is synonymous with Freightliner and always has been.
