The fact this man’s in a so-called kids show but is the biggest menace to society in cartoon history (and that’s coming from adults) is the literal definition of “these hands are rated E for everyone”
Fun fact : In the comics , Slade beat up Beast Boy and put him in a coma , and it was left very clear that the sole reason why Beast Boy wasn’t waking up was because his ass got beat up so bad by Slade that he thought he was DEAD

The entire episode of Slade just BEATING the shit out of Robin was so tense and horrifying. Ron Pearlman deserves all the awards for his performance as Slade.

I just gotta say this; Slade's ROBOT saving robin, a literal teen, from falling just to whoop his ass and then blow up in his face is probably top 5 menace activity on this channel so far. a robot basically just vegeta flexed on a child.
I just love the idea that this man was so petty about even the possibility of losing, he had a back up that would allow him to mentally torture Robin to near death. It was that line of thinking that got Raven's father smiling and going, "Hey, I heard you like torturing kids. You want a free Revive and take over the world?" Of course, Trigon did leave out that part of "Take over" as in, "End" but hey, when you're dead, you don't have many bargaining chips on the table.
It wasn't even just near death if Robin didn't figure it would of killed him I think they actually just say in the episode his mind would of broken under the strain which would of made him go into cardiac arrest and killed him.
He's like Batman, and I quote Joker, that he always finds a way to win, the only difference that slaid hates losing, while Batman he needs to win to save everyone
"It's been a long time...hasn't it Titans? A month? A year? A millennium? Far too long for my tastes anyway. I was beginning to think I'd never see your smiling faces again..."-Slade Ron Pearlman's delivery of that line with all the implications and history behind as you see the looks of stunned abject horror on the Titan's faces really shows just how much Slade traumatized them
This in my opinion is the greatest rendition of Deathstroke so far in media. Ron Perlman did a fantastic job voicing him even though it was a “kids” show

I’m the recurring antagonist of this series, I’ve manipulated two of your friends into working for me, almost killed you, and all I get is a goddamn “whoa”? Disappointing…
Not to mention the voice actor who did his voice absolutely killed it. To this day this version of Slade is still one of my all time favorite villain’s from an animated show.
I love how slade is like pure evil and destroys legit everyone and then the only time he wanted to help them was because HE SAID HE WAS THE ONLY ONE TO TORMENT THE TITANS single handedly STOPPING THE DESRTUCTION OF EARTH just because he wanted to mess with the titans
Slade was the most menacing villain of my childhood. He was cunning, actually good at fighting (unlike a lot of "mastermind" characters that are just cowards), and had an amazing voice actor (Ron Pearlman deserves every bit of praise for that portrayal). The early 2000s Teen Titans show was excellent overall. Was a "kids" show but tackled relevant adult themes and topics routinely and in a good manner.
Agreed, I remember witching this show as a kid back in the day. And though it took me years later to figure it out, Slade from 2003 Teen Titans was a different breed of villain. This polar opposite of a mad man had everything- the skills, the Drip, the ambition, the will to do literally ANYTHING it took to get what he desired, whether it was getting Robin as his apprentice or to simply see the Titans kicked down a peg. Yeah I'm glad CJ finally gave this man the credit he deserved for nearly a decade now.
Teen titans paid so much respect to Deathstroke as a character cause in the comics he's even more compelling as a villain they definitely went as far as they could with him for it to still be considered a "kid's show".
As a child, I didn’t have the capacity to understand the character depth of Slade, but as an adult, it’s hard not to. For a cartoon geared towards children, the writers did a good job of making him menacing and threatening without making him gritty and pulpy. He was a master manipulator and a truly cunning intellectual. Seeing him pulling the strings from the shadows reminds me of Kingpin or Tombstone

Slade is a god damn Sith Lord. The way he was able to manipulate Robin against his own morals to the point of a near mental breakdown would make Palpatine proud. And poor Terra never had a chance.
Even when Slade was working for Trigon he was manipulating. And he does his research. Finding that ring to protect him cause he doesn't trust Trigon. Genius. Assuming Terra actually is alive, he probably found a way to break her out of the stone and wipe her mind, just to torment Beast Boy some more. The man's a menace.
It's actually whenever the spell that turned everyone to stone was broken, causing terra to be free. Not wanting to go back into the superhero and just wanting to be normal becomes Terra's objective
The funniest but also craziest part about this video is that NONE of Robin's obsessive traits were exaggerated. Dude was literally this driven in the show to the point that it made me question if he was even more obsessed with Slade than Batman is with the Joker!

Robin was trained by Batman so there was always an extra layer of disrespect for good measure lol miss this show
He was great, but why does he wanted to destroy the city ? Sounds like a massive change compared to the comics, where he's a mercenary hired to kill targets for cash.
When you realize Slade was playing with the Teen Titans the entire time and could have killed them at any point in time. ... now that I think about it, Slade probably blackmailed the government to have them not interfere in his mind games, hence the lack of appearance from the Justice League. That and he probably blackmailed the JL too. Afterall, he already knew Batman's identity and most likely the others'. Slade has balls the size of Kentucky so it wouldn't surprise me.

I just love the idea that this man was so petty about even the possibility of losing, he had a back up that would allow him to mentally torture Robin to near death. To sum up slates backstory in the comics It's I lost the kids in the divorce and I'm bored
He also took on Superman with a kryptonite katana
7. Unexpected betrayal behind your back by an ambush.
So he lost to Amber heard?
@@theheronexus1199 oh no! His wife Adeline was entirely loving and trying

However, she didn't really like that. He was a mercenary because it endangered their son causing their son Joey to get his throat slit he could have fucking died. They were lucky that only damaged his vocal cords

So divorce was the next best thing ( guy still lost an eye)

- Bodied Robin, like, way too many times
- Bodied the entire cast like, way too many times
- Bodied Robin, in his own mind, way too many times
- Bodied the earth
- Bodied the other guy who bodied the earth
Lol
Bodied someone to get back a body

Yea… he OD”in
Bodied pure evil.
also saved robin just to continue boding him again
12:53 I love how Slade says this stuff in an angry tone but he still has the most straight expression through his mask i just find that hilarious
I met Ron Perlman (Voice of Slade) at Florida Supercon. I asked about his experience voicing Slade, and he mentioned how Hannibal Lecter inspired his Slade voice. When he voiced Slade, that was Ron Perlman impersonating Hannibal Lecter.
damn if this is true it really backs up more of the 'Slade being a outright sociopath' theory, is there any proof to this encounter>
damnnnn
@@abeedeahmed5626 Florida Supercon offered a VIP panel that was extra where I got a picture and autograph with him. I was with a small group of people where we took turns asking him questions. I was the only one asking him about Teen Titans and Adventure Time. Others asked him about Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy, and Beauty & The Beast. Ron also mentioned he recorded his lines by himself without the other VA's. He didn't get to offer his input for writing episodes. Adventure Time was on the air, and he mentioned recently recording for the Lich. He also liked voice acting where he could wear whatever he wanted when recording lines. I also remember a Florida Supercon rep telling us to not scream, because Ron had a hangover. Ron was hilarious and very friendly.
Love it!!
Now if only he wasnt so cringe.
Slade is the physical embodiment of “we do a little trolling”
The man made the best use of robotic body doubles by kicking peoples asses with them and even if he loses he can call them up and say “I didn’t really feel like being there, so how does it feel getting beat to near death by a copy of the real deal?” He can say “I can kick your ass from the other side of the world” and mean it
Slade be like, "Its Just A Prank Bro"
Even in death, Slade was still a threat to the Teen Titans.
Now THAT'S what I call a villain.
Him & Stinkmeaner in the 2000s. Straight Menaces.
Slade really is a menace to society. Bro was really out here traumatising children, both in the show and in real life.
Slade really showed a whole generation an entirely new level of evil bruh, no joke as a kid I had no clue how menacing dudes could be till Slade pulled up
That whole "Slade in Robin's head" thing blew my mind
Everything Slade did regarding Terra was the most needlessly demonic shit I've ever seen on a children's TV show
True true
look at what he did to Tara in the comics
@@hype5456 I already know and I'm currently repressing it
@@DaddyDynastic yeah Marv regretted making that story and so it's been recton but still it still happened even if it's a different canon
YOu haven't seen the judas movie with teen titans cause that shit was bonkers and like made me uncomfortable.
It’s an absolute tragedy that the show never had a proper ending
The fact this show got cancelled is straight up criminal, that's a felony in my book.
It was more bizarre than anything. Was that girl actually Terra or a lookalike? If the former, then how did she get un-petrified, and did she have amnesia? And what was the monster the Titans were fighting because I could've sworn the two were connected somehow!?
@@johnnygyro2295 There is a followup comic where Terra's brother shows up. Him and BB start talking. It's revealed they're royals from Markovia and that their powers are the results of inhumane experimentation. Ultimately, the two decide to leave her alone. All she ever wanted was normalcy. She remembers, but this is her choice.
I read about it a bit. I don’t think it was canceled, that was the actual ending. The ending was a lesson: when you grow up, not everything will have full closure and you just have to move on. Had they made another season and continued on, the lesson would’ve been pointless. They even *knew* the show would only have 5 seasons which adds to the fact that the “lack of an ending” was intentional.
@@nevarelixe3963This also means Slade was right when he said “She no longer wants to remember you”. He was actually trying to help BB let her go and move on. “You’re the one who’s hurting her. Let her go.”
10:39 "YOU BEST CALL BATMAN RIGHT NOW" cracked me up
The funny thing is Robin aka Dick, left Batman because he was too obsessed with the "mission", and when slade pulled up on him he finally knew what it felt like to be Batman.
Slade really went from a skilled martial artist, to a world-ending cataclysmic villain.
Put this man's mask next to the definition of "Monster."
Put it on Chris Hansen's mantle
Slade made a deal with a literal devil so he could keep beating up some teenagers. Child abuse isn't a hobby or a job for Slade, it's a CALLING.
It's a mf full time job to him lmao
Slade left Robin,Terra and Raven with so much trauma and PTSD.
The CrankthatFrank “reee” killed me😂
I'd pay hundreds of dollars just to get this man to voice over all the characters for even one season
Imagine an abridged series from this guy.
@@meiyou-ren lil😂
Well 🤣
@@meiyou-ren it would be amazing.
That’s why I can rewatch this so many times
Slade is such a phenomenal villain. He did so many evil things towards Robin, Raven, Terra, and the rest of the team. And him working for Trigon was insane. Who would’ve thought that Trigon would bring Slade back to life as a skeleton and give him demonic fire powers. When I was a kid, his eye really scared me.
You got a bot in your comments g
"Even in death, I will still whoop your ass."

The dust in Slade’s mask was wild.
He didn’t even need to be there to witness Robin getting his ass beat. He just wanted Robin to know it was him.
Slade a different type of villain. 💀💀💀
Slade is just like my dad. Facetiming me during the most traumatic times of my life.
Sorry that happened to you
my dad reminds me of the hands slide would put on robin
Your dad is a supervillain?
Funfact slade see Robin as his son he wants
Fitting irony,
This series began with Slade’s cruelty,
& it ended with Slade’s cruelty.
The fullest circle you could ever receive.
Slade is the personification of 'woke up and chose violence'
Woke up and chose torment
Slade is underrated as fuck. He is a true menace, and deserved his spot.
Slade was such a great villain. He really pressed the titans to step their shit up or get stepped on. Always calm and collected, and his voice actor was great at delivering his cold lines. What's interesting is that Slade/Deathstroke fighting ability is only second to Batman. Robin was trained by Batman so there was always an extra layer of disrespect for good measure lol miss this show
He was great, but why does he wanted to destroy the city ?
Sounds like a massive change compared to the comics, where he's a mercenary hired to kill targets for cash.
It's funny because he's actually beaten Batman more than Batman has beaten him.
I know, I used to feel actual fear whenever he was on screen. I had nightmares of him beating my ass, no other show compares
@@6636j nah that’s wild 😂

When you realize Slade was playing with the Teen Titans the entire time and could have killed them at any point in time.
... now that I think about it, Slade probably blackmailed the government to have them not interfere in his mind games, hence the lack of appearance from the Justice League. That and he probably blackmailed the JL too. Afterall, he already knew Batman's identity and most likely the others'. Slade has balls the size of Kentucky so it wouldn't surprise me.
Pretty unlikely that happend.
Slade was the most black air force energy cartoon villain that I've ever known and will stay that way for a very long time
On god
I wonder what's the second most devastating villain in the cartoon franchise.
If we talking psychological torture, I'd agree. If we talking just pure insanity, that goes to Buu
@@MasterofVirology dbz is anime homie. He talking about western cartoons
Don't forget the 2003 shredder. He'll give slade a run for his money.
As a child I was so shocked with how dark and confusing Slade was as a villain
Besides Trigon, Slade aka Deathstroke is the best antagonist in the entire show. He haunted Robin and became his personal demon, manipulated Terra, got under Beast Boy’s skin, and even made Raven lose control just so he could free her literal devil of a father. That bastard was no joke.
Dude literally haunted Robin so bad he had him suffering from hallucinations of getting his ass whooped😭
When you realize Robin obsessed over Slade to the point of creating a new persona, lying to his friends, and becoming a criminal -- AND THEN YOU REALIZE HE COULD OF JUST ASKED BATMAN! DAFUQ ROBIN?!
Slade was truly one those villains that you can feel the intimidation when watching them.
It’s like with Bleach when Ichigo felt Kenpachi’s energy
Being voiced by Ron Perlman at his most menacing also helped
You mean aizen
Just a gentle reminder: this is the *toned down* version of Slade Wilson. He gets much, much, much worse. Deathstroke the Terminator earned that moniker.
Fr in the tv show they left out a lot of the fucked up shit during the Tera arc.
@@xdimitrije they also got rid of some of the good parts too
