I took a casual walk through the busiest part of Princes Town which is on the Naparima Mayaro Road in the vicinity of the Prinices Town Promenade (The Triangle).

@@trinidadnow I did enjoyed it and what is interesting about your videos is, the fact that u can showcase stuff which can make a difference to pple cause most of the time Google takes pple elsewhere!.....
Nice video which brought back many memories in the town where I was born and grew up. The triangle was previously a triangle with a huge tree which provided a cooling area from the hot tropical sun. Around the late 1960s, someone came up with the bright idea of getting rid of the tree and the triangle and so they did and replaced it with a circular bleacher about a couple of feet high and placed several benches in the blazing sun (our people didn't need a tan). Well, it was not a favourite with the folks and was seldom used.. Actually I was unaware and very surprised that it has been remade fully accessible and with a few trees and seating areas. The entire area is very built up and hardly recognisable compared to when I left over fifty years ago.
Wow! … I am so thankful for your historical contribution. I myself really enjoy hearing about if our rich history and the way things were. Thank you so much for sharing.
Beautiful Video as always ❤ to me, Princes Town is one of our most beautiful towns... its setting is very European-like too, that square or "the triangle" is a very common feature in European Towns and Cities.... usually with an Oblisk or Fountain in the centre. This place is so darn picturesque man!!! I love it, I find some of us sleep on beautiful places like this too much.
Thank you for this video. I cannot wait for the day. When all those ugly overhead wires are buried into the ground. I am big on Aesthetic. Eyesores is a big problem for me. I see it all over this country. There should be a large amount of money in budgets for infrastructure. Like roads and sidewalks. That alone would give cities and towns a much needed facelift. I watch walking videos of all the cities around the world. They are so clean and aesthetically pleasing. Town and country. Should have better building codes. Plus people need to keep their surroundings tidy. That’s just my pet peeve…Carry on! Looking on from afar!
I agree with you 100% it really bothers me how bad things. I try filming in the nicer areas in Trinidad so that means Port of Spain is out! And I also have to film I. Safer areas too. I thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
t's about 38 square kilometers averaging about 40,000 people, with regards to how busy it is... I chose to film when it was quiet, coz Princes Town has always been an extremely busy and safe town.
@@trinidadnow Also I wanted to mention that it was nice to see so many people walking on the streets going about their errands and business. Here in the States in particular where I live in my general area of Orange County and Los Angeles California, no one walks the streets. Except of course for bums and homeless people. Everyone drives to their destination, park and go indoors. A lot of Downtown areas here look like ghost towns. The stores are still open, but you wont find a lot of people milling around. There is even a popular pop sound called "Nobody walks in LA" LOL. Its nice seeing all these cities in Trinidad, because I was born there and left after high school. I lived in Belmont and Port Of Spain but mainly i`m from the Countryside of Blanchisseuse. There you go, I just admitted to being a country bumkin. Most of the Country I have not seen. So thank you very much.
@@alcampbell as you may have guessed... it wasn't a busy day i town coz normally there are even more people here and tthere is normally a traffic jam in the town as well but I intentionally shot this video when it was quiet. i normally do my walking videos when the roads aren't too busy

Never realized Princes Town was so busy and developed. Do you know the size of the population?
