I Iearned something that I've only messed with up til now.. .NOTICE that she is tuned to open D but is playing in the key of A .. so that the tonic chord is barred on the 7th fret...the open chord is the IV chord (ie D) Bluesmen from TX did that in the 30s as i remember !
I think the open D is modified so that the F# string is down , tuned to F instead. That way all the barred chords are minor chords. I think you will find that it is in the key of Am
