The sound of the trees is so nostalgic for me. I grew up on a farm, and I would ride horse through the forests. This is the sound you would hear in early spring (mostly). I just close my eyes and feel like I'm back at home and 14 again. aaaah.

I was 16 when i also discovered how much happier the outdoors makes me. I am now 26, and have noticed how much mentally healthier I am compared to others my age.

I'm glad to see the GenZ folks getting back into the outdoors - it is a much more entertaining place, than the Network.
It is hard to slow down in this world - humans have only been operating on "time" since the advent of the railroad and Time Zones in the 1850s, evolution takes a very long time to catch up to such massive changes.

@@wrongthinker4475 Apparently, you are not very familiar, with Norse history then!

Alexander Alaric it shouldn’t matter where your from exactly. Vikings traveled all across Europe and Asia working as merchants, traders, even royal Sicilian bodyguards! Their values were respected and held important through history wherever they went. I’m sure they took let in some “foreign” values over time as well. It’s not important to see the original values but how those values changed and shifted over time in accordance with surroundings.

Bjorn your living the dream life , no life is perfect but yours is a good one and you made it happen . i will say from years of experience 7 day work weeks can end up being counter productive as weird as it sounds, you need at least one day a week away from your usual work ,it revitalises you and you acheive even more.
Look out for branches that look like they may fall, as hard as that is to do with such tall trees.
one day you will walk away from YT so i say now i appreciate your videos and your speeches you inspire me in some ways.

I have had doubts about going to explore it but after seeing this video I will definitely go through it and find that peace that is not in this modern voragine and that many need. This has been a necessary channel for reflection and soul. Thanks Bjorn.

You need to make another video combining Bushcraft, sailing, and Vikings.
Carve a dragon head for the prow of your boat.
Thanks for this video. A couple of days ago I went to a beautiful spring-fed lake that sits at 10,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains here in New Mexico. My wife and I caught 35 nice little rainbow trout. We released all but ten of them. High in the mountains here we have Aspen trees and spruce, and the lake is surrounded by them. The spruce trees look like giant and well manicured Christmas trees. So beautiful. When you start traveling, you should come here. I think you'd enjoy it a LOT.
Thanks for your video as always, and good luck with your plan!

Howdy, Bjorn. Love your videos my friend. I live in Seattle and Norway reminds me very much of the area around here.. woods and boats and water and mountains. And lots of Norwegians here as well (ancestrally) for that matter haha! You inspire me to get out of my condo and back into nature... I grew up around guys very much like you and I miss it terribly and I feel lost and a stranger here now. I sit and watch your videos and the world makes sense again... thank you for that. Yes, the wind in the treetops is indeed one of the best sounds on earth, especially when paired with the sound of water of bubbling down the stream and a few birds calling to one another.

I relate to what you are saying. Portland to Seattle area has been heavily influenced by Swedish and Norwegian migrants like my family who fell trees and built homesteads in our region of the Northwest. Our ancestors worked hard to try and provide a better life for us today. I think it got too good and now we are missing our connection to earth and nature and Bjorn is helping people reconnect that spark of interest that has always been there.

I truly wish that I would have had UA-cam when I was a teenager. Young people these days are SO lucky to be able to hear wisdom from people like Bjorn, to hear and see life from perspectives so far from their own as to be almost unimaginable. I wish I would have REALLY known that living life like this was not just possible but preferable. Sure, I have time to continue changing my life but it’s no simple thing with a job and a family that depends on me. Starting 20 years ago would have changed everything. I’m not complaining, my life is great, but I don’t feel it in my bones the way I’m drawn to the “simpler” life.

Everything you like and don't like is exactly how I feel. Except for novels, i'm not much of a writer. I have never felt really happy in modern society. I never feel at home. I don't even have an appreciation for the food I eat because it's so easy to get. A permanent home in the wilderness sounds like the dream. Even a nomadic wilderness lifestyle sounds better than enslaving myself to society for some shiney and plastic things.

Bjorn, there are no better videos to watch in full-screen than yours. Norway is so beautiful and you capture its' beauty with ease. I love the native trees of your country, they are majestic and so pleasing to the eye. I cannot wait to visit again this winter. I still think it would be a good idea for a subscriber meet-up in Norway.
There is never a video from you in which you do not give us some important messages for life and how to live better. I share your view on loans, but not when they are to spend on increase income for the long-term. Loans are a great way for both people and businesses to invest but of course, you already know this! Loans for spending on luxuries such as holidays and mobile phones are built for the impatient and you should not spend tomorrow's money today.
I would love more videos like this, the forests, the sailing and the bacon of course! Thank you for entertaining me and once again inspiring thought in us all.

I retired at 55 own my home, car, motorcycle free and clear.
It’s not an expensive home or vehicles at all but what stinks in my State, Washington State are the taxes
With Zero debt it still runs me $350 a month property tax, $300 a month for home and vehicle insurance, $45 a month cell phone which is also my internet, utility bill(water sewer garbage)of $150 a month.
I live very frugal but it is still expensive even when owned outright.
I lived well below my means when I worked and it paid off.

Unfortunately the only way to be truly free (legally) is to live on allodium title land. You could probably build a wooden cabin in the Ural mountains and nobody would find you, but it is still illegal and if you're found then you're pretty much fucked. Civilisation is basically a forced contract, you must pay in some form if you want to live even somewhat civilised.

Bjorn I so agree with you I don't like technology, cities, government systems, loans, mortgages, entertainment industry. I like teaching, reading, writing, cooking, painting, gardening, philosophy, critical thinking. good conversation, animals, hiking / long walks, science and nature... oh & hammocks. I've left some things out but you get the idea.
I thought to myself, he seems like the kind of guy that would have a dog and Voila there she is

I always enjoy your videos, they have a great effect on my state of mind. You got me laughing at the "swinging for the camera", absolutely a "me" thing. I could see myself doing that exact thing and it actually made me laugh. Thank you, for the laugh, but more for just "doing your thing" and sharing.

I envy, in a good way, your outdoor life Bjorn...i am in the U.S. , somewhat near the end of this life at 68 but am grateful to my God & Creator, Jesus the Christ, for what He has brought me through, and the people He has brought into my life.
I thank Him too for you, gentle spirited man, Bjorn, that I can live outdoors vicariously through your gentle, relaxing adventurous outdoor videos. Thank you my friend and Norwegian brother. Godspeede to you!

My friend the other day said to my husband, who was opining about the fun we could have if we had a boat, "What is so great about having a boat? What is so great about being on water?" I admit he had me there, but seeing your footage on the boat in the sunshine makes me feel secure in my opinion again, that boating is indeed fun. Ha.

@@Jinx1996-9 LOL - I apologize for the confusion.
Yes, My Friend - I am selling my house in Nevada, and moving back to Montana, where I am from. Many Norwegians settled there in the 1880s, including my Great-Grandfather.
I am going to be retired now, and I do not need much money anyway, I live simply.
I want to make a big studio to do my creative things, like a mad scientist!
I also want to make videos similar to Bjorn's - except, I am a retiring warrior, so the videos will be about Veterans and PTSD mental health, in the woods.
I hope to invite Bjorn over to visit the North American "Little Norway" of North Dakota and East Montana.
