Our 11 yr old daughter has asked for an artist tablet for Christmas, and she might have well asked for a star in the sky...because that's how unreachable this request seemed until I saw your video. She is the only graphic artist in the family, so with no prior knowledge, my husband and I were lost. However after watching your video, I feel much better equipped to at least start the hunt. Thank you so much!
I'm so glad it helped! Good luck! EDIT: Okay I have to add that I've been thinking about this comment all day and you are such amazing parents! So supportive and cool enough to do research about your kids' interests! I'm honestly emotional about this! Your daughter is lucky to have you!
i just want to say THANK YOU because you're the only person who gave such a complete and honest review of the whole range of tablets budget-wise and HOW to shop them (and how wacom is not the only brand). Super helpful :D Edit: It's been a year since I posted this comment. A year since I bought a cheap tablet (XP PEN G640S). The software is a bit wonky at times, but otherwise, it works great and is the best purchase of my life. Thanks for equipping me with what I needed to know. Hope everyone finds this video just as helpful too :)
Props to you for not going along with that shady deal. Honestly when it comes to product reviews anytime I hear them say they're sponsored I pretty much leave right there. Sad but it is what it is.
Yeah sometimes it kinda sucks using your finger. It made me like paper art better but if you have a good tablet and a stylus it’s not much different than normal art at its core.
Thank you! My son is getting in to this and I had no clue where to start. I don't trust promoted (paid) reviews and it's taking me days to figure out what to look for. Now I have, thanks to your video!! Very much appreciated!

Thank you for getting into more specifics. I kept watching videos but they weren’t as detailed and were more about selling certain tablets and actually explaining what I needed.
The wheel "thingie". It seems hard to find ones like this these days - though there still are a few, such as the XP-PEN DECO-03 which currently is a tad over £100 in the UK. There are a few others, but not many. For some of the Huion models it might be useful to know that there is now a real pen available - Scribo PW310, so that a sheet of paper can be taped or clamped to the tablet, and then the user simply writes on the paper. That's a different mode of operation. Some people might like that. It's not obvious whether most tablets can take different pens, though often the cost of a pen is often not so different from the cost of a tablet. I guess it depends on the product strategy and marketing.

My first tablet was an XP-Pen with display, and I wouldn't recommend it. I have a MacBook Pro, and it recently stopped working with it completely. Apparently the drive I needed to download "didn't work for the version." AKA, when I updated my computer to the latest version, there was no update to the drive to work with it, even after waiting and re-downloading it. The colors on the display didn't match up with how it looked on my computer, so I think I'll try a screenless wacom next. Thanks for the insightful video, it helped me narrow my options!
Thank you for all the advice. This video was very informative. I wanted to get into digital-art and start drawing fakemon 😁 Now I have a better understanding on where to start.

Thank you for sharing this information. My twelve year old is an amazing artist, she uses different mediums like charcoal or chalk markers. But she recently requested a digital tablet to sketch on. Anyone had experience on how they got used to not looking at their hands while drawing??
I'm a beginner with digital art on laptop/pc and have only drawn with my fingers on my Samsung A6 tablet (and this isnt a drawing tablet). This was a great review. I'm thinking of getting either a Veikk A15 or a !edium Wacom Intuos

Hi, hello, um thank you so much for making this video! This is very helpful, I’ve never done digital art but want to start. This video is so informative, I appreciate your recommendations 🤗🤗🤗
thanks for the advice I have 9 years of drawing experience from my skatch book, I'm 16 years now and I have bought the Wacom Intuos Pro, I got it for 6000NOK (670 Dollars)
I'm already a digital artist that has used a mouse for years and Im super comfortable with drawing with the mouse. However Im on the shop for my first tablet. Its really overwhelming trying to figure out what direction to go in because I know how to do certain things when I draw using the mouse and Im trying to figure what tablets do the things I'm use to and how they do them. ^^' So very confusing. And so the research continues~
Any you can recommend within the $100 range? Can go a little over, but as close to $100 from your experience that would be good for just getting into digital art to see if its something I like.
@@fishontv123 There are lots of choices. I started with a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch I got for $5. If you specifically want to go Wacom, the small sized Intuos is $80, but other brands might be cheaper, but Wacom is something I like. If you eventually want to upgrade from that, the Intuos Pro has over 8 thousand pressure levels, but the Intuos may be a good place to start, and it has more pressure levels than the Bamboo.
@@fishontv123 Also, some free programs I can recommend is Krita and OpenToonz, though one of the Intuos comes with two free years of Clip Studio Pro(or Ex).
Hello Jasey, I would like to use a Wacom tablet for teaching online-whiteboard program only. I also have one with a stylus pen which doesn't need any charging or batteries. Does Intuos pro Medium PTH-660-n work? Which other tablets with pen do you recommend from Wacom?
Does anyone know if the Wacom Mobile Studio Pro is a good tablet to buy? I don't actually know much about it, and I don't tend to trust Amazon reviews either.
Thanx for the clarifying the muddy waters of jargon. I am in the market for a drawing thingy... I restore Old Jaguars, (hence the channel name) ANYWAY... I've come to need to do some art work for my website, and products that I don't have yet. I tried hiring a couple of people to do the work, but their work sucked, or I didn't do a good job explaining what I want. I spent my childhood drawing cars, so what the hell. So I figured I'd give it a go.
Buying them online is annoying for those who only use cash. So it's great to see so many in electronic shops now. I would like to lean more about the software that's needed and whats included in the product, similar to clip studio Pro.
Yeah I have started seeing them at art stores like MIchaels. They don't usually come with software, but you can get free software like Krita. Good luck!
your video is useful . thank you . If you are on a budget and don't mind connecting it to a computer/laptop, XP-Pen or huion ftw. If you want to use it as a tablet to draw with your fingers, then my recommendation is not for you! I personally use the XP-Pen Deco 03 (top pressure sensibility, quite big, around $90) but prices go from 30€ to 1000€, so you have plenty to choose from and the quality has nothing to envy from Wacom, which is the most known graphic tablet brand. I did plenty of research when buying my tablet, but I can't really recommend any software as I have only used Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI. Haven't had any problem linking software and hardware, everything has always gone super fluid.
8:09 bruh I’ve been doing digital art on the smallest type of screen there could be (my phone) and fingers alone,so at this point I don’t have that kind of mindset at all after that. Only now I’m looking into tablets.
i'm thinking of getting the huion inspiroy q11k v2 but i want some honest opinions about it before i buy it. i'm just a beginner so i only need basics but i also want it to be a good tablet s i can have it for a long time. i've had a lot of problems with using a mouse because my hand gets shaky and even with lowering the sensitivity it looks really bad. is it the right one to go with or is there a better beginner one? i don't know a lot about tablets and this probably doesn't make any sense...

Thanx for the clarifying the muddy waters of jargon. I am in the market for a drawing thingy... I restore Old Jaguars, (hence the channel name)
ANYWAY...
I've come to need to do some art work for my website, and products that I don't have yet. I tried hiring a couple of people to do the work, but their work sucked, or I didn't do a good job explaining what I want. I spent my childhood drawing cars, so what the hell. So I figured I'd give it a go.
I just wanted to thank you for this 🐰. Keep going :)
Good luck!
I like your kind and comfortable nature!
Prices did go up but only slightly. My God you saved my wallet.
your video is useful .
Haven't had any problem linking software and hardware, everything has always gone super fluid.

bruh I’ve been doing digital art on the smallest type of screen there could be (my phone) and fingers alone,so at this point I don’t have that kind of mindset at all after that. Only now I’m looking into tablets.
This was pretty pretty helpful, thank you 🌹🌹
i'm thinking of getting the huion inspiroy q11k v2 but i want some honest opinions about it before i buy it. i'm just a beginner so i only need basics but i also want it to be a good tablet s i can have it for a long time. i've had a lot of problems with using a mouse because my hand gets shaky and even with lowering the sensitivity it looks really bad. is it the right one to go with or is there a better beginner one? i don't know a lot about tablets and this probably doesn't make any sense...
This is amazing!!! This is the most help I've gotten
Thanks for all the advice it was very helpful for me and I really loved all the advice u gave just for a beginner
Thanks for this video. I had to google before I make a decision of what tablet to buy and I found this video. Now I know what to do. :)
