Short n sweet. Gave my boy one of these for his 8th birthday a few years ago. Upgraded to 540 and then oil dampers as the stock springs don't handle the extra body weight too well.
Thanks Jenny. Oh yeah, she's built a bunch of cars over the years, even before I had the channel. I think her first build was around 10 years ago, she built one of the cars from a magazine, where you buy the magazine each week and it comes with a few parts. Then after we got together she turned into an unstoppable building machine! 🤣. A couple of Lunch Box's, Midnight Pumpkins, Blackfoot, Sand Scorcher, Mad Bull, a couple of Grasshoppers, Lowride Pumpkin to name a few, and now the Holiday Buggy. She hasn't built a Kyosho yet, but she has her eye on The Beetle, maybe Santa will bring her one. 🤷♂️😁👍
@@RCHobbyShed wow, that's a fair few kits.. Well like us here in the UK we enjoy building them. Hope she gets a Beetle for Christmas 🎄 Hope your both safe and well, we just gone into Tier 4 over here so it's kinda Lockdown again.

Nice work again mate, little beast should go well with the 540 motor. Wife's not working so no rcs for a while. She's ranked the Blitzer beetle as one of her favorites. Can see why to, they're great fun , useless council hasn't cut the grass out the back so we're driving the small stuff and jumping them in the backyard. More fun than the big cars , need to find a bmx track for the ultima. Take care mate.
Thanks mate. Should be fun, if not there's always brushless 😁. Oh not good, hope she's not sick or something mate? The Blitzer is a good choice for a favorite. I've yet to run mine, soon I hope. Maybe ring the council and warn them about the dangers of grass fires, might spur them into action! lol. Funny you mention that. I'm taking my Ultima to the BMX track tomorrow, a mate is taking his RC10 B4. I think he's gonna attempt to beat the Ultima..Naah won't happen. 🤣 It's almost the weekend, so have a great weekend mate! 👍
Ever since I discovered your channel, I am obsessing over vintage Tamiya and re-releases. They just look so fun to drive even with a standard silver can motor. I feel like rebuilding The hornet I bought in 1987. I broke the chassis and a half but the body is brand new and unpainted and the decal sheet has never been used. I just need to buy new wheels, tires and a pan for it.
I'm glad my videos have inspired you. Oh yeah, they are fun with any motor, even the little 380's can be fun. It will be great if you did rebuild your original Hornet, will be good to know another one is reborn. It should be quite cheap if those are the only parts you need. All the best with your restro! 👍
Nice job by you and your other half Mick. I've been tinkering about with my Holiday Buggy kit. Mostly all I've done is to make some new shock mounts for the front so that the shocks sit under the bonnet and can go the right way up. I've got the wheels from my Street Rover and they look pretty nice with the Holiday Buggy body so will probably use those. Beyond that I just need to pull my finger out and build it! Nice job on the vid btw. Hope all is well with you :-)
Thanks Pete, will it on the the miss's! Sounds good, I'll check out your HB videos. I might change my wheels too, really not a fan of the stock wheels. Will be great to see you HB done, should look great! All good here at the moment, hoping all is good at your end! 👍
G'day! 👋 I hadn't thought about it, but someone did suggest it. While I'm making it handle badly, should I open the gearbox up so it can fill with dirt just like the original? 🤣🤣🤣
Great job on the build. You don't like the Tamiya Molex connectors? I use only Tamiya connectors and 6 cell 1800mah packs on my Tamiya vehicles. All my higher power stuff uses Deans, EC5 and Traxxas to Deans connectors. I never put mod motors in my Tamiya stuff. The only one I may do is the Dark Impact I'm gonna build. Too many to change for me.
Thanks! Not a fan of the Molex connectors, had too many fail over the years, even on 6v back in the early 80's. I use Deans on most of my builds as I usually run a 2-3s LiPo on most of them. I do have some 6 cell NiMh batteries but they're all using Deans too. For me most of my cars are compatible with my batteries this way. 👍
I am going to build a Team Associated enduro kit. What is great is it easy to find after-market parts. I plan on putting a Proline Jeep Gladiator body on the chassis. Maybe you should build one of these kits too. Thoughts?
That does look like a great kit and should look awesome with the Gladiator body. I may grab one of these kits early in the new year, I'm kind of all spent up for this year. 👍
That looks so good! I was thinking of doing a custom body mod on mine but after seeing yours I think I'll go box art. Good to see you're still kicking down in Mexico, seems like ages since your last video lol. Thanks for sharing your video mate 👍🦘🇦🇺

I'm turning mind into a updated falcon it's got the yellow wheels and I've slapped some vintage falcon yellow CVA on it ,sprayed a sand viper shell same Box art as original falcon , just decals to apply when they arrive👍
Tamiya recommend you don't paint the body as it's HDPE (high density polyethylene) and is very soft and flexible. I have heard of people using automotive plastic primer before painting to aid in adhesion but am unsure what paint they used or if they've had any issues with the paint cracking.
@@RCHobbyShed i bent up a bit of 10mm alloy n drilled two holes . Tested buggy so slow but awesome with the little motor as it will be a trail foot path rig anyway lol
