All I could think about when you said that Jazz was your favorite was "Ya like Jazz?"
Some random interesting fruits for thought that came to me:
- Minnow became a healer to have a role, to contribute to her village. Even though they're not related by blood, the dragons of the village are tight-knit, just like siblings
- Always meeting new dragons. Always going to new places. Always experiencing new things. Instead of having a RainWing's constantly-shifting scales, Jazz just keeps going with his ever-changing lifestyle openly, without a care in the world
- Her very name being a nod to "impure" (jasper is a mix of several different minerals), a trait that never helped Jasper's temper. So what? Dragons avoided her anyways for being a hybrid. Underneath all that, Jasper hoped she'd be free of the prejudice - finding somewhere she'd be accepted just as she were. If only there was such a place...
As for my creative process, I always do the character's background first, then come up with how they'd actually look (I'm kinda out of my depth for any sort of drawing 😅)
P.S. The colour palettes for your new OCs are INSANE! I love Jasper's vibrant stripes and contrasting markings, especially 🤩

Minnow's Color Palette is just about the same if not exactly alike Alu's
Jazz reminds me of an altitude map in the best way possible
The gradient on Jazz’s torso is to die for!!😁😁😁I also love the little circles on Minnow too. It looks like that design that almost got third in your Koi contest.
I know, I know, its now a What If episode, but I have a few ideas! 1. What if Moonwatcher didn't have her abilities, or if she hatched in the volcano? 2. What if Cricket could be hive minded? 3. What if Luna and Blue never met/didn't know they were half siblings? Anyway, hope you can find some inspiration! (this is a repost of a coment from an older video fyi)

I dont draw WoF dragons, never truly got into it, so I just go with the flow and add whatever I want, lately I've gotten bored of the usual things I'd add, and now I've gotten some new designs I could draw!!

I love your designs, you are a good character designer! I especially love how you added the circles oc color on Minnow, it makes her look gorgeous
The art and colors are so cool :D
Personally, I start with doodling out a few sketches and then I add accessories that inspire their back stories. Example; my oc Emerald’s horn ring inspired her twin sister, Sapphire, who has the other one. Those both came from her late mother. Also, I might not color a dragon until they’re broken in, so I can get ideas about their family and such.
Also, these three are SO cute. Personally, I like Minnow the most, her bubble design is adorable! I always forget about little things like that; those make such a big difference but make a big difference!
I do that too. I’m making three dragons so I use the same process

Minnow reminds me of an old oc I had which was like this but more teal looking, but they has similar bubble patterns and cream colours on it :D

depends on character, but i usually design a character and then do backstory. usually end up thinking of quirks or personality traits as i draw 'em.

ive been writing a book for the last three years and Minnow and Jasper are the names of two of the main characters friends lol.
Your my favourite UA-camr Cyprus!!! Probably the best UA-camr on UA-cam! So since I love you so much may you give me a favour? Can you design Clarisight for me? She’s a silkwing. Here is a small bit of her story I wrote: When Clarisight hatched she was like any other silkwing dragonet. Her father had been taken to bloodworm hive and her mother died due to a hivewing sting. ( She worked for Cricket’s family). Clarisight leaned at the moment she hatched she hated hivewings!!! So over the years she made friends with Blue Luna Io and Swordtail. She had deep blue and purple scales and purple eyes. She talked back to the hivewing guards and said no most of the time. You don’t want to know how many times she ended up on misbehaviour’s way!!!
Jasper design is my favourite I love it and the eyes it look so cute I don’t think I could do it her colour is beautiful I think hers is definitely A vipers colour

hi Cypress! hope youre having a good day! btw that snake is called a san fransisco garter snake.
I’m making three dragons:
Oracle, Imperial, and Perception.
Oracle is a SeaWing NightWing hybrid who lives in the sea.
She’s a prophet, but keeps it secret. She used her powers for services, mostly.
When her tribe found out, they were horrified and banished her.
Imperial is a NightWing SandWing who lives in the desert. She can make any dragon’s power stronger.
She used it for wars, but decided she worked for no one and strikes out on her own. She later met Oracle and they became close friends.
Perception can read minds. She’s a RainWing NightWing hybrid.
She got bored (times a million) of living in the rainforest and went to the Mud Kingdom.
She hated it there too because it was ‘too muddy’.
She was out walking one day and accidentally got stuck in quicksand. When she was about to die, a MudWing found her and saved her.
His name was Sandstone.
They became friends, and then eventually Perception met Oracle and Imperial.
