Raymond: Each side has a limited number of challenges. It can only take so long for them to use those up. I just looked it up online. It looks like each side gets 20 challenges. That would be a sub-total of 40, so they probably will interview at least 52 jurors. Then each side gets to challenge 12 alternates, so that would mean that they will probably interview at least 30 alternates. The Criminal Code is Section 270.25. If your digital search skills are not up to getting that code section to display for you, a public library librarian, a courthouse librarian, or a college research librarian can probably get a photocopy for you to read.
Big city public libraries have Ask a Librarian phone services free. One of those can read the code section to you over your phone, free. They don't care where you call from. They don't require that you have a library card.
If the lawyers take 30 minutes with each juror and each alternate, that would be 82 x 30 = (41 hours) when all the math is done.
I believe the analysts have reported that the trial calendar allots 2 weeks for jury selection.
It was already predicted the jury selection process will take about 4 weeks. So properly set your expectations.

Although, if these trials happen, I'll be grateful. But, Garland should have jumped all over this on day 1. Because of Garland's spineless demeanor, there's a very real risk that Trump could win the election and get rid of every case against him. Literally allowing him to put himself above the law.
