Great vlog on the billie, I love the billy pattern, like you I have made lots of them, it really is such an excellent pattern so versatile, thank you for taking the time to share.
A really interesting and useful vlog. I have used the pattern for tops before but I haven't risked the puffy sleeves. I feel encouraged to give them a try now. Like you I enjoy the comfort of a comfort of a cosy T or vest under my tops so I'll leave the neckline as it is on the pattern though I agree it is a little bit high.
I’m getting the Billie pattern for Christmas 🤞🏼 and now I’m really looking forward to making myself lots of Billie’s. I really like the last one you’ve shown - looks fabulous and really comfortable and cosy 🥰
It was great to see all your versions and the different styles you've made. I've not made this pattern before as wasn't sure about the sleeves, but I know they include a straight sleeve, so should give it a go really! Thanks so much for sharing, it was really interesting 🤩 xx
Thanks Karen 💖😊 pleased you enjoyed my video and seeing all of the different versions of the billie I’ve made. I actually made the plain sleeve version over Christmas and really like it. You should definitely give it a try xx
Thank you for your great vlog. I’ve had the Billie pattern for a while now and never had the inspiration to make it…until now. It’s going to be my next project. Thanks for showing all your lovely Billies. x
I love all your Billies! 🥰 I’m using stretch velvet for my Christmas dress, too. I don’t have the Billie pattern, but I’m using another Tilly pattern and adding a cowl neck.
I have made two cropped tops and one dress but want to make a couple more dresses and definitely will lengthen the sleeve I’m only five foot two and they are short on me but love the idea of changing the neck shape
I'm almost finished making a burda sew easy top. My first make from a burda magazine it can be made from 3 types of fabrics and can be made cropped or longer. Just have to hem 😊
Becky - do you leave out pockets on all your Billie dresses? I love the pockets but do you think they take away from the overall shape? Lovely videos. Thanks, Alison
Billie...Very cute and simple design😊. I especially like the sleeves. I live in the US and Billie is a new word for me. Is Billie the style or maker of the dress?
I love the Billie pattern too as so comfortable. I’ve made it several times but have always lowered the neckline as reviews said it was high at the neck. I might make the cropped version as you have to go with some high waisted trousers I have. I find the top is a strange length on me and lengthened it 2 inches. I made one in cotton jersey and is a lovely weight. I was considering making a cardigan with the pattern. How did you do the neckline as it is high for a cardigan? Did you reshape it?I’ve made both dress versions in french terry and sweatshirting. How do you find the pockets as I always find them a fiddle to place accurately? I have wondered about omitting them in a thicker version. Have you tried that ? I think the Billie is a lovely dress to wear anywhere and also to make as a gift due to the lack of fitting. I might shape my next version in more as you have to the waist area. Thank you for your vlog. 😊
Thanks for your message 💖😊 I’m pleased you like the billie pattern too. I normally leave the pockets out of my dress versions to reduce any bulk around my hips. For my cardigan version, I used the shaping from the front of the Tilly and the buttons Bertha cardigan and used the neckband from that pattern too, the two patterns seemed to work okay together. I like the idea of making a jumper in a cotton jersey 💖 I will have to try that at some point. Thanks for watching x 😊
All the Billies look terrific and I love the cardi hack!!
Thank you 😊 I really like the cardigan too as it goes well with lots of things I wear 💖
Your so clever, love the cardigan. Never considered the pattern as at 69, felt it was too short and shapeless. It really looks good on you
Thank you 😊 it’s a great pattern and I think it can look really different in a range of fabrics too 💖
Love your velvet version, it looks comfy but smart!
Thank you I’m pleased you like it 💖😊
