    Thank you so much Lauren for this video. I’ve been looking everywhere for a tutorial on how to use ready made cuffing. You explain it so well too. 👍🏽

    If you have a serger and can use the narrow 4-thread overlock stitch you will not have ladder stitches visible on the right side and the cuff and neck seam will lay down better. Then top stitch. Lauren I enjoy all your videos and tips:)

    Thank you Lauren I didn’t realise that the cuffing could be used as a single layer so I have learned something today and will start to use it on my makes from lighter fabrics. 😃

    Thank u Lauren. I had thought that I would need to cut cuffing shorter than the pattern piece, as it was stretchier? Good to know! 💕

    Thank you so much Lauren. I’ve used the tubular ribbing on my last make and happy with the results and color. I’m hoping to try the cuffing pack version on my next project. Just having difficulty finding the color I wanted. I’ll message you/your team separately as the fabric I bought was from your website. Shirley xxx

    Thanks so much. Beautifully explained. I’ve got lots of Poppy cuffing but I didn’t really know how to use it! On another subject, I bought some gorgeous tomato coloured linen/viscose mix fabric from your shop last week. It’s flippin’ lovely. I’m halfway through making a version of the Belemnite dress from it. I love it. Worth the trip from London….❤

    Thank you so much for this video. I have a few long sleeved tee shirts whos sleeves are a bit short. I've considered putting some cuffing onto them to be able to use them. Now I have a better idea of how to do that. Guess I'd have to cut the existing hem off, or un pick them. I'll have to give it a try.

    I use my coverstitch machine around the neckband .Gives a great result but I also zigzagged before I had that machine

      Hi I have just purchased a cover stitch machine and Still getting used to it. Could I ask if you stitched the cuffing on with it or used it finish to finish off on the main fabric. Many thanks.

      @claireperks78 3 роки тому

      @@julieukengland8315 the coverstitch is for finishing, not construction.

    Like the cuffing, it’s a time saver. I think you meant a 45 degree angle, not 90, is that correct.

    I thought the seam allowance on the Jarrah appears to be 1/4 inch which surprised me ?

    Thank you for this! So no need to prewash right? Looked like you used it right off the packaging?

    • @LaurenGuthrieGhani
      @LaurenGuthrieGhani  3 роки тому

      I would say its best to prewash it, as in good practise, but if you don't it probably won't affect things hugely as the cuffing is so stretchy anyway. So even if it was to shrink slightly in the wash its unlikely that it would be significantly noticeable

    Hi Lauren, I know this is an old video, but you mentioned in it that you have another vid explaining how to alter your pattern pieces if you want to use the same fabric for the hem band and cuffs. I can't seem to find the video. The link seems to be for attaching a jersey neckband only. Is that correct?

    • @LaurenGuthrieGhani
      @LaurenGuthrieGhani  6 місяців тому

      Hello, yes thats right I have one about using the same fabric as the main fabric for the neckband but at the moment I don't have one that specifically mentioned the cuffs and hem band but a similar principle would apply. If the pattern you are using has been designs to use cuffing or ribbing for the sleeve cuffs and bottom hemband and you are using fabric for those sections that is not as stretchy as the ribbing/cuffing then it may be that you have to make the cuff and hem band a little wider. As those pieces are rectangles then its easy enough just to extend the rectangle a little and cut it out bigger. It really just depends on how stretchy your main fabric is. I hope that helps :)
