You could play as flame and ember when you collected 10 certain dragon eggs for each. I managed to get to play as ember and wasnt too fond of her but loved her cameos and getting to play somebody other than spyro was fun. Not to mention shes voiced by tara strong ♥♥
I think the best part for me about Ember and Flame were that they were both voiced by the legendary Tara Strong. In all seriousness, they both deserve to make a come back, since they really do have potential to be more than what they are.
I would love to see Flame and Ember come back they're my favorite dragons too and I want them to get bigger roles and as player Characters along with Spyro.
Me too and I know how to make Ember into a better character and that is my version of her. If you are interested in it, I could tell you my version of her.
Despite not really being deep characters, these two characters are super popular, all becuase they're the same age as Spyro and becuase it can be assumed they were friends. They're cool tho. They're almost up there with Cynder in terms of popularity. I like them and their designs. I do hope they appear again and we can have a game with all four dragon Bois and gals. Nice video
As is tradition with any video discussing AHT's history and development, I'll provide a few more facts: Flame and Ember both have early designs in early builds of A Hero's Tail. Ember is orange and lacks a necklace, and Flame is blue. Ember's orange design is actually seen on that Spyro Orange trading card. Some developers offered a bit of insight to the creation of these characters while I spoke with them. Jon Williams, the game's producer, said that they were going to be NPC characters right from the start, though there were very early plans of making Ember a fully playable character. However, it was decided that "the overhead of having to create alternate speech and NPC interactions would be too great." Them being bonus character skins through the collectible eggs was probably added quite late in development. The lead character designer, Steve Bamford, has also shared what he remembers from the characters' creation. Flame and Ember were there from the start, but at some point Steve recalls being asked to make "generic boy and girl characters" for use in cutscenes, and so it was agreed to modify Flame and Ember for that purpose (hence, the changed character designs). He also recalls Flame pretty much just being a quick modification of Spyro's mesh (which probably doesn't come as a surprise). Please do keep in mind that this game was developed about 17 years ago now, and developers can easily misremember things, so don't take any of their statements as absolute fact.
Well, Ember and Flame appeared in Spyro: A Hero's Tail and Spyro: Shadow Legacy,... but I could imagine that Ember at Flame will be appeared in the next Spyro game like new Spyro 4 into the future. But depends on game developers of Activision like probably Beenox. I don't know. Who knows. 🙂
Like with Cynder, I would love to see Ember and Flame back. The fact that Spyro was the only young dragon in the games, the apparition of Flame and Ember was gratificant in my case. Even when they were very underutilized. Flame looked like a red Spyro but with large snout, and Ember was basically Amy in the Spyro world, but at least they have personality. In Shadow Legacy Flame and Ember had some presence in side missions, but still were unused. I would like they came back, and playable. As they are also young, basically they would be like echoes of Spyro, maybe with some unique ability to make them feel fresh, have some story, and even a role in the main plot. I am like exaggerating, but I feel like them coming back and with better development would be good. Like in a lot of games, the main character has their own group, and I feel Spyro with friends of his age and species would be awesome.
Yes, I hope that Ember is a respectful and “Everyone Has Standards” character like she may flirt with Spyro a lot and may talk a lot about marriage but she will never force Spyro to marry her and will never force him to love her and will rather wait for the time when Spyro will return her feelings for him.
In a future game, I could see them being playable. Maybe for Ember, skip the Spyro love interest part and have her already in love with Bandit, but not in an Amy Rose way As for Flame, maybe he could be Spyro's friendly rival?
That could work but it seems kinda off as Ember in the classic series already has a crush on Spyro so it would be weird if they did the opposite so I believe that they should make Ember as a respectful and “Everyone Has Standards” character like she may flirt with Spyro a lot and may talk a lot about marriage but she will never force Spyro to marry her and will never force him to love her and will rather wait for the time when Spyro will return her feelings for him. But your idea is still a good one though.
Do I *need* to recite my go-to argument/complaint for scenarios like this? I'll just cut to the chase. Depends on who the developer is. As for whether I want them to return... Well, they kind of only really existed in A Hero's Tail and Shadow Legacy. Maybe reintroducing them would give them a second chance...? ESPECIALLY if the developers are Beenox! You saw what they did with the Crash Bandicoot cast in Nitro-Fueled. Now imagine what they could do with an adventure platformer!
I had no idea that Ember was cut in Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly (2002) as a character since I've got this game when I was 9 years old back in 2003 if I have to be honest.🤔
Since the Classic Spyro showed no interest in romance, perhaps in a new came, Ember would be constantly trying to win his affection only to be rejected everytime, and eventually she becomes a boss character who tries to force Spyro to be her lover.
Uh, Shadow Legacy kind of ruins that idea. She falls in love with an armadillo character, if you can believe it. And Classic Spyro having no interest in romance was retconned by Toys for Bob in the Reignited Trilogy. Observe the standard ending scene of Year of the Dragon with Spyro and Elora.
@@greatsageclok-roo9013 To be fair, Shadow Legacy seems to be de-canonized by Reignited Trilogy and potential future games following it. But yeah, didn't see the last scene, and that pisses me off they're trying to pair Spyro with a non-dragon.
@@greatsageclok-roo9013 Pretty sure you can sit by a friend and not fall in love with them when you see love as a plague. By the way, Sanzaru Games developed Spyro 3 Reignited, not TFB. ;)
@@CrystalBlazier Oh yeah, I forgot about that... Still, I think Spyro being anti-romance is going to become a forgotten character trait going forward. And I'm not going to say why; I'm trying to distance myself from making that same argument over and over. (I actually got in trouble with someone for saying it when it wasn't necessary.)
I don’t think that is a good idea, that I would make aggressive Spynder shippers hate her even more and I hope that they make Ember into a respectful and “Everyone Has Standards” character like she may flirt with Spyro a lot and may talk a lot about marriage but she will never force Spyro to marry her and will never force him to love her and will rather wait for the time when Spyro will return her feelings for him.
I really hate the "obnoxious crush" trope. It doesn't matter the gender, it's just very off putting. People instinctively stay away from the kind of behavior for a reason.
I agree. I would love for them to reappear in Spyro. Especially alongside Cynder, so Spyro does get his own team.

Yes playable Ember and Flame bit was mentioned and showcased in the video. XD

the same way Cynder should return in spyro 4. more dragons with Spyro's age should be a thing. The more the better
I have the idea of Cynder having her own solo spinoff game.
@@rickyrackey7930
Yeah Spyro can't be the only dragon kid there has to be others too.
funny enough, with Cynder it will makes 4 dragons, possibly 4 players?
I would love to see Flame and Ember come back they're my favorite dragons too and I want them to get bigger roles and as player Characters along with Spyro.

Ebbe
I like Flame being red more since it makes his name sound better.
I also like Pink Ember too.

Ember wasn't kidding when she said she might never see you again when went into the swamp.
Honestly there is a lot of room for improvement for these two
I honestly hope they do return.

Ngl Flame is an imposter and Ember has a huge crush on him. they should be reintroduced as a spyro fan club.
Here's one way to reintroduce Flame, make him a dragon from a rival kingdom and wants to prove himself better than Spyro
Both of them as only an Easter egg cameo maybe
That'll happen if Toys for Bob are the developers for sure.
Wouldn't it make sense to have Flame and Ember be a Couple?
Is that tara strong? Who voices ember and flame?
Yep, that’s Tara Strong. :)
