    Thank you Sara, for this tutorial on necklines…especially the details about sewing a KNIT neckline. Sewing necklines is something I am learning and looking forward to sewing more of because I enjoy the feel of the soft fabrics. Also, I really like your skirt pattern and plan to purchase during the summer to keep my legs cool from the sunny weather.

    Thank you. So neat, I liked them all....and your clips to hold fabrics together. Looks like they're better to use than pins for this.

    Thanks for the tips! What is that little tool that you use to flatten the bias in the first demonstration- it has a very pointy tip.

    Thank you for such a comprehensive tutorial on sewing neckline. I can see why you prefer facing, as it looks so sophisticated on woven garments. When you stitched the facing to the bodice, what seam allowance did you use? My pattern calls for 0.5cm and didn't tell to snip along the neckline, only the corners.I guess SA has to be at least 1cm in order to snip along the neckline as you showed.

    • @SewingTherapy
      @SewingTherapy  Місяць тому

      Exactly! My seam allowance is usually 1cm, and I prefer to clip all the rounded corners when sewing a facing to prevent any wiggles.

    Is it possible there needs to be a correction on the knit band. Iron seams open and fold "wrong" side together? Thanks v much Sarah. Great summary video.

    I have a question. When you topstich on the knit stretchy fabric, did you use a straight stich and of so wont it snap as a straight sritch doesnt stretch?

    • @SewingTherapy
      @SewingTherapy  11 місяців тому +1

      Straight stitch with longer stitch length would work perfectly!

    Sara, this is a great video. Thank you! I'm sewing a linen top. I've tried 5 times to sew the neckline. It keeps sticking away from my body. It's stand up rather than lay flat. What could be the problem? What could I be doing wrong?

    • @SewingTherapy
      @SewingTherapy  10 місяців тому

      Did you cut the bias tape on a bias?

    • @WanderlustYk
      @WanderlustYk 9 місяців тому

      Yes, it was on a bias. I'm not sure what went wrong. I took it apart and sewed my neckline many, many times and eventually managed to sew something decent. Thank you so much for all your videos. You are great!@@SewingTherapy

    • @jadeite1969
      @jadeite1969 7 місяців тому

      This happens to me too@@WanderlustYk . I think the problem should be in the amount of pulling we do when sewing the bias tape, because when I follow patterns that have bias tape into the pattern (as in specific length), it tends to stay closer to the body better.

    • @pinkpolites
      @pinkpolites 7 місяців тому +1

      I've encountered the same issue. May I ask how you managed to prevent it from sticking up? Could you share the techniques you used? Thank you.🙂

    • @WanderlustYk
      @WanderlustYk 7 місяців тому

      @@pinkpolites I'm not sure what fixed it. I took it apart many, many, many times and eventually it worked. Did you cut it on a bias? Are you pulling too much on it?

  • @maryenos91
    @maryenos91 7 місяців тому

    I would like to ask again ..Do you sew the facing 1/4", 1/2" or 5/8" to the tops?

    • @SewingTherapy
      @SewingTherapy  7 місяців тому

      The seam allowance can vary. It may depend on the width of the bias tape you're using, or it may be specified in the pattern instructions.
