Yesterday I was fishing the upper Narragansett Bay and the fishing was just exceptional. There were birds and bluefish along with some stripers working the bait all day. Though, they were mostly out of range, every time they came close I'd get them every time on a pencil popper. I ended up losing at least 5-7 blues and landing 4 Blues over 30 inches and 2 short bass.
Was at that last spot also the same week.got acouple scup there also. Was out to the end there Tuesday morning and had no luck.Throwing bucktails with and uncle josh pork rind.
Hi, live in Newfoundland, around the capitol area, mostly fish for flounder/cod/herring, id be interested to see your rod/reel set up, whatever from something for long casts to more finesse styles.
Welcome to my neck of the woods. So many short fluke from shore in Rhode Island, it seems that the Fluke fishery from shore is much better in Long Island and New Jersey. Would you agree with that? I think that I will have to drive down to Long Island to fish for Fluke from now on. The Fluke fishing from boats in deep water is ok though. I fish both of those areas that you fished because they don't get crowded and there is plenty of room to spread out. The second area is very scenic but known locally to be very dangerous because the whole shoreline is extremely slippery as you pointed out. Every year someone dies there, I have heard that there are caverns under those rocks and when someone falls into the water there the surf pushes them under the rocks and they drown. I don't know for sure if that is true, but I am sure that surf casters have died there. Even die hard fishermen have been washed into the surf there. As you can see if you are hit from a wave you will end up in the water since the shoreline is pitched towards the water and the rocks that you were just standing on (because they were dry) just became like ice because a big wave just washed over them. I stay away from that area except for very calm days in the summer. There is a state park in Jamestown which is also known to be very dangerous, many surf casters have drowned there as well. Well, thanks for the great vids and keep them coming!
the east wall was the last shot in this vid, we only tried it for an hour or so.. weekapaug I have not yet tried. Hope to come back and give it another shot when there are a few more fish around.
Cool vid! But Man I was hoping you would get a bone. That second spot where you put your foot on the rock showing the slickness of the rocks. I've stood right where you put your foot many nights catching some big bass in fall might be worth trying at night now or soon.
Recently subscribed to your channel and really getting into them. I'll be up in Nantucket next week looking for albies and bonita. What's your weapon of choice? Keep up the awesome videos.
thats awesome I think you will have a good time! best producing lure ive seen is a 7/8th oz epoxy jig in bone or pink or green or any color really, but that size and type of jig catches them well!
+Sea-Money Fishing awesome! thanks for the tip. I'll stop in and grab a couple when I get up there. praying for some good bites while we are there. your channel is one of the best I've seen so far, keep up the awesome videos!
Seamonkey in one of your videos can you tell us stuff like what size your rod is and the gear on the reels. That kind of stuff because I'm 11 trying to get better at fishing.
Yea I will try to post a better instructional video of the gear I use, if you go back to last december I do have one video of the few rods Ive been recently using.
unfortunately I am not familiar with the waters over there but I think they might have some good turbot fishing right now? thats just a guess, better off finding someone more familiar with that area
what I like to do when I go flounder fishing is measure 0 to 18 somewhere on my rod and mark it with a strip of tape so I don't have to run back to get my measuring tape
Angler024 check out the flats blue 7' 9" from wright&mcgill good all around rod and can handle big fish, addictive fishing has a video on you tube for it
Yeah, the best is tautog, and some nice 3.5 lb scup in very shallow. Yes, the scup fishing is so good that we can literally catch them on deadly dicks. but the usual 14 inch fluke, the peanut bunker are starting to move in with silversides with snapper blues busting on them. With that, the false albacore, green beans and stripes should roll in.
wow in this video I tie 4 different kinds of knots... dropper loops for the scup rigs, uni to uni knot for connecting the braid to the mono leaders, palomar knots to the plugs/lures, and the loop knot for the metal jig (called and epoxy jig btw). The knot I tie on that sp minnow (silver 6" plug/lure) was a palomar knot
Chris, I love all of your videos, but I've got to be honest...these two are in my top five. Love seeing you fish in my neck of the woods!
Chris. Wonderful job with these videos! Avid fan, keep up the good work!
thanks man!

Over here on the west coast, (King Harbor, Redondo Beach Ca.) we use a bubble and feather for bonita.

Hey Chris, do you do any offshore fishing? Tuna season is almost upon us!
I don't, don't know anyone who tuna fishes and def can't afford an offshore trip haha
what kind of rod and reel do you use for salt water I've only fished fresh water.
Love your videos
there has been bonito at the west wall poking around
Hi there! Enjoy so much your videos. Wanted to ask you: what rod size/action do you use?
Thanks for taking the time to share.
Thumbs up from Spain.
Im using a 9' shimano tirelajo surf rod, and a penn clash 5000 sized reel. The rod throws 1-3oz and is a medium-fast action
Wow! Nice outfit! I'm using lower end of Shimano: Catana 9' + Catana 4000FC. Happy camper!
Hi, I would like to know what fish are out between now and next month in the uk if you don't mind thanks
unfortunately I am not familiar with the waters over there but I think they might have some good turbot fishing right now? thats just a guess, better off finding someone more familiar with that area
+Sea-Money Fishing is flounder fish in all year round?
whats your setup? or what rod and reel would you recommend for fishing like this?
what I like to do when I go flounder fishing is measure 0 to 18 somewhere on my rod and mark it with a strip of tape so I don't have to run back to get my measuring tape
smart idea, ima keep that in mind
People say sea robins and toadfish are some of the best eating fish in the sea, but I personally have never tried them.
I also heard they are both really good
why didn't you guys use those crabs and fish for tautog
Aren't false albicore and bonito the same fish?
where do you guys stay on thes trips ? camp ?
Are Bonito fish Big?
+Lets Test It nope they average 3-5lbs but they are extremely elusive
hey chris im in ac catching kingfish spot and smooth dogfish, and i was wondering how the dogfish would work as shark bait hope you can help thanks!
+Trek800z it works, the spot and kingfish work real good too tho, any of those 3 baits will get you a shark!
What did you do with all the crabs you caught on your previous vid?
ehh we didnt catch anything with them, half of them escaped into my buddies car, and we tried them here and there but didnt catch anything with them.

What type of knot do u tie
wow in this video I tie 4 different kinds of knots... dropper loops for the scup rigs, uni to uni knot for connecting the braid to the mono leaders, palomar knots to the plugs/lures, and the loop knot for the metal jig (called and epoxy jig btw). The knot I tie on that sp minnow (silver 6" plug/lure) was a palomar knot
