Brad Mehldau 3o: Songs, The Art of The Trio, Vol. 3 Paul Motion (dr), On Broadway Vol. 4 or The Paradox of Continuity: Rebecca Martin (voc), Chris Potter (tenor sax) Larry Grenadier, Masabumi Kikuchi (p) Rebecca Martin (voc), When I was long ago: Larry Grenadier, Bill McHenry (ten, alt, sop sax) Happy listening!
This is actually really interesting and thoughtful interview, I really enjoyed it. Interviewer is great and he i asking very good questions, that are more thorough and authentic maybe than when the interview is done by standard jazz journalist. And I learned a lot of new things about Larry and Brad's trio even when I'am their long term fan and sort of Mehldau geek 🙂 Good work! 👏
Wow! Larry is amazing! I know him in a summer camp in Siena... He is my favorite jazz bassist! The solo on the motorpsyco song on Joshua Redman " walking shadow" is my favorite Larry s solo! Thank you Geoff for this interview!
Hi Geoff - Great interview! Would you be able to update the show notes with the list of albums that you and Larry referenced? Thanks for your great work!

LOVE the CD "The Sirens" with Chris Potter-- a total ensemble accomplishment.
Thanks for the heads up on that one, I've not heard it but will enjoy checking it out.

Great player. Love his sound and concept. He has a way of making each note it’s own space, connected but each one it’s own thing.
Agreed. I love the way he develops his ideas in his lines, it's so compelling!
