Had the great pleasure & privilege of hearing Maxim Lando in recital at FGCU yesterday. The wide range of dynamics, the mixture of hauntingly sensitive musicality and the strength of a force of nature remind me of Richter. What joy!
The adagio reveals one of the most touching expressive peaks I have ever heard. A masterpiece of musical intelligence and uncommon sensitivity. Bravo Maxim you are my hero
L’adagio rivela una delle piú toccanti vette d’espressione da me mai udite, un capolavoro di espressività e intelligenza musicali impressionante. Brahms ne sarebbe rimasto entusiasta ❤ I love this boy
Congratulations Maxim! Please please say hi to your parents, they are so lovely (it's David, used to teach at GNMC, don't know if you remember). I will listen to this uninterrupted soon, maybe later today.
Maxim, you need to be posting shorter videos more frequently. Things like the Led Zepplin you did in the salon round to get more subscribers. You should have a mill, man. This was still my favorite performance of the finals!! Come back to Cleveland soon!
Very good and mature interpretation for a young pianist, but listen to Arrau in Moscow 1968. and you will understand/feel what a great interpretation of Brahms is…
This was really well done. Unfortunately, Mr. Lando’s constant weaving, crouching, bouncing, and flying arms made it difficult to watch. He a real talent for sure, but some restraint on the needless histrionics would be a plus. He’s doing Tchaikovsky #2 with Columbus Symphony later this month, so I’m eager to hear that rarely done work.

phenomenal playing and emotional intensity! As always, Bravo, Maxim!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Clearly the best performance of the competition, IMHO. It was great meeting you!
7:36 I love this piano solo. ❤ Just goosebumps each time.
Bravo Maxim. Your mastery is nothing short of breathtaking. I look forward to many more performances in the future.
Congratulations. Playing with the Cleveland Orchestra in Severance Hall must have brought a lot of emotions.
