If your heart doesn't skip a beat listening to this thing scream, you're not a car guy/girl. Absolutely wicked build man! Love seeing this truck in action.
The97Powerstrokin That's not exactly true. I'm a car/truck guy from Way back and the exhaust note on this truck is just to raspy for me. His exhaust system would not be my choice but it's not my truck either.
It didn't skip a beat, but it damn sure puts a smile on my face to see an old truck that can clearly outperform these new trucks. I've been wanting to build one myself for years now.
No lie, that's one of the best sounding small block Fords I've heard in a LONG time, bar none! Nice job on the exhaust design. If you have any exhaust leaks up near the headers, it will cause excessive backfiring on deceleration. Also, if your idle mix is a bit rich, or timing is retarded a bit, it will do it as well.😉
4:58 if it is running rich at low altitude it runs even richer at high altitude. If you want to keep your power in the mountains it needs to run borderline lean at sea level. You can hear it misfiring especially at low rpm (for example at 7:53), likely because the mixture is way too rich for the altitude.
Yep.. too much fuel.. gotta do a plug check. would also be a good idea to run lambda sensor in the exhaust to get a better idea where the fueling is at.
No I definitely agree. The 2v 3v and 4v 4.6 sound way better too under the right setup. Obviously you're getting the increased performance with the Coyote but it's very difficult to beat the sound of the Windsor 302 or the 4.6
@@JRHamifythe coyote is just better equipped stock. Built vs built the old 4v, especially with the teksid block, are just as capable as built sleeved coyotes. Coyotes are just better equipped factory because they're newer. The old 4v was best of both worlds. Performance capabilities like coyotes when modified but sound like the pushrods but even better. Same firing order as tbe pushrods the coyote had a diff firing order and s550s got a diff exhaust configuration which effects sound alot. S197 coyotes sound better than s550 and coyotes swapped into older cars sound even better.
I agree!! I actually hate the sound of the flat plane crank coyote. They are a good engine but id rather hear a small block Ford or an old FE, like a 427 or 428!
I fell in love with side exhust from NASCAR and Trans-Am... Then when I saw and heard the Merc SLR and there was no way anyone can deny side exit makes it so much more involving! Plus when youre under an overpass or passing people its more of an FU statement
This video made my day brother... I am from Miami but went to school in Cali, and got to experience what I watched in Bullit and other car movies,. Nothing like driving something nicely tuned, tights suspension, through those winding highways roads out there. I drove a E30 with a 330 motor, 6 speed. It was a blast to drive, nothing but suspension. It drove like a kit car,... we have great long road here South Florida, but California is special. I miss Cali. Where I played in Fresno looks like the roads you are driving on.. great days out in the desert. Riding quads, watching the pre runner guys flying around, the dirt bikes in the dry creeks.. Watched several of your videos over the past year and fell in love with the exhaust sound. At the same time I was waiting for my motor and transmission and the the big swap. I have a ‘98 Ram 2500 4x4. Nothing special at all to most people. The bone stock 488 V10 died. Ended up going with a 427 LS3 N/A from Borowski Racing Engines & Hughes Performance 4L80E transmission. Khaos Kustoms did all the work. I have just over 500 miles on it now and absolutely love it. Nobody expects that sound coming from the truck. Went with the Widowmaker exhaust because of your truck. Thanks for your videos and inspiration.
I had a vacuum modulator allowing fluid into my intake , smoking from my pipes sticking out in front of my rear wheels . The traffic neighbors love your pipes . Check your front wheel bearings often. Thats entertainment.
Lot of fast old Ford trucks out there, but ain't none of them like this. I love the Carb, fuel injection is for kids and old folk. Then there's that beautiful sound, completely pissed off and all it wants to do is eat, I want one!
Dude, your truck sounds f-ing amazing! That's absolutely the best sounding f100 I've ever heard! Congrats on your engine build! I wouldn't be able to not drive that truck like every day! She just sounds pissed off!!! Awesome brother!!!
I had the 4x4 version with a 360 and 4 SPD. I loved it. Some improvements to the engine. Looks the same in paint as yours. Color and patina. I bought rims like yours. Mine were called American racing " Daytona". I can really see your enjoyment of it. I would love to have it myself.

That is the coolest truck period I’ve seen on UA-cam. When I was 16 back in 1997 a set of circumstances led to me being the owner a 1972 F100 regular cab short bed with 429 SCJ and C6 transmission. For a kid’s first truck it was a little much, but it was so badass. I’m looking forward to more videos on this beast!

The truck sounds brilliant, Especially blasting through those winding roads. Sounds alot like the Australian V8 Supercars when they show you the onboard camera's while racing.
It does sound so good and should be enjoyed, it will never preform at its limits better than a car just by design, but that in no way means it's not a damn riot for what it is,again, by design.
