This track is on the soundtrack of the movie 'Trainspotting' which is how I got to know underworld as a 15 year old boy in 1996. This was a very memorable movie I've seen numerous times over the years, should definitely give it a go if you've never seen it.
That moment when the keyboard, piano solo rings out on it's own!! Captures such an eara of musical discouvery! Then,....? Lost for words,? Brilliant, thanks so much, Born Slippy!!❤😂😮😊
I was fortunate enough to see Underworld play the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall twice - once in April 2017 and the next time in June 2019. I'd say they were two of my greatest concert experiences of all time - just mind meltingly good. The visuals, the laser lights and the people = A++ experience. I think Underworld are gods of dance and electronic music. They are true masters of these genres. Its shocking how more people don't know about them - especially people my age (I'm 26 now). They are criminally underrated. I feel that with each show that they have an amazing ability to create an escapist atmosphere. You feel locked into being in the moment, dancing to the groove of songs like Two Months Off, Dark & Long (Dark Train) and Jumbo. I love watching Karl dancing while Rick coordinates the music. It was the most incredible feeling watching them close each show with Born Slippy. There was 10 minutes of my life at each show when I forgot about all the other shit happening in my life and embraced being in the moment with 2,000 other people in the room. It was incredibly special. I've seen many incredible artists and bands play in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall including Bon Iver, Air, Fleet Foxes, The Stone Roses, Hot Chip, Death Cab For Cutie and Brian Wilson. They are all amazing in their own right. Underworld would take the gold medal though for their sheer uniqueness and transcending performances.
I think a lot has to do with the fact Karl was training to be an artist and Rick was training to be an electrical engineer, when they formed. Karl is definitely a visual artist, Rick is a master music technician.
Wow! I dont know anyone else that can keep up with the lyrics to born slippy. Man, back in the 90's, everything Underworld touched turned to gold. Miss the 90's. Creativity, style, music, and people were better back then......(god I'm old now 😂)
Called my mom right away to thank her again for giving me birth in the early 80's to have the possibility to participate/enjoy all the masterpieces created in the 80's, 90's and 2000's. M.A.G.I.C.A.L Peace!
To anyone who are in their 20’s - live every single day to the best of your ability because you will never have those days back, ever. Yeah you might think you can carry on into your 30’s but you don’t. I swear, live each day like it’s your last day on Earth! This tune is my 20’s and I smile every time I hear it because of the fun I had back then. Dam, dancing to this at 3am in a nightclub somewhere / anywhere. Tuneeeeee

Back in the days I remember every time I went out at the weekends this song would be played and the dance floor would be is packed. The good old days 💃🕺🎶
I was blessed enough to be on the night club scene when this amazing song came out. listening to It in the dark with a cold one in your hand and thinking about the rest of the 90s It was an instinct hit and has be apart of people's lives and the song gets better with age.
Son: "Dad what was the best thing about 90's rave culture? ...the music, the people, the drugs, the dancing, the mornings, the hugs or the temporary sense of intense connectedness to fellow human beings?" Dad: yes
I can confirm that working behind a really busy bar with this blasting when the “shouting lager, lager, lager” bit comes on it’s an unbelievable buzz!!
Nothing will compare to this hitting on the dance floor when you are on the verge of passing out, and pushing to dance like a mad lad. That drop. You go for it, everything starts to white out. Then that sweet sweet piano hits you stare at the lights, the tab you had washed away... You spread your arms. Fucking tune.

That moment when the keyboard, piano solo rings out on it's own!! Captures such an eara of musical discouvery! Then,....? Lost for words,? Brilliant, thanks so much, Born Slippy!!❤😂😮😊
I'm 129 and I still love this track.
Wow same here
😂
Eu sou o 139 e adoro esta música 🎉
@@haveatyou1 hey, it’s Dad…..how are you?
@@pamberinehondo9447 hi dad 👋
@@drey8 Its amazing that their training has translated so well to their sound and image.
Hairs standing up on the back or my neck. Forever and always with this song
Yes! Gives me flashbacks lol😃😃😃😃👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Same here , totally euphoric.
The night out wasn't complete until this was played.
26 years and still a BANGER!
55 and raving all around my living room. The end bit of Trainspotting always pops in my head when I'm listening to this banging tune 🫶
the best dance track ever.
one of the best for sure
Two words
BLUE
MONDAY
Wow! I dont know anyone else that can keep up with the lyrics to born slippy. Man, back in the 90's, everything Underworld touched turned to gold. Miss the 90's. Creativity, style, music, and people were better back then......(god I'm old now 😂)
Don't let this song die...
NEVER 😃
One of the most iconic TUNES of all time!!!
I'm 64. Just fired this up on the Tube. People tapping away smiling. Timeless tune
This is up there with the best songs of all time
That was and still is, astonishingly good. Some of the best and most iconic chords ever recorded in modern music.
Called my mom right away to thank her again for giving me birth in the early 80's to have the possibility to participate/enjoy all the masterpieces created in the 80's, 90's and 2000's. M.A.G.I.C.A.L
Peace!
Tuneeeeee
I saw them do this live at Glasto 2016 nd it still brings tears to my eyes (I'm a sentimental old 74-year old) to recall the sheer joy of that crowd. The 'hands in the air' moments! Wow!!!
Lyrics
Drive boy dive boy
Dirty numb angel boy
In the doorway boy
She was a lipstick boy
She was a beautiful boy
And tears boy
And all in your inner space boy
You had
Hand girls boy
And steel boy
You had chemicals boy
I've grown so close to you
Boy and you just groan boy
She said come over come over
She smiled at you boy
Drive boy dive boy
Dirty numb angel boy
In the doorway boy
She was a lipstick boy
She was a beautiful boy
And tears boy
And all in your inner space boy
You had
Hand girls boy
And steel boy
You had chemicals boy
I've grown so close to you
Boy and you just groan boy
She said come over come over
She smiled at you boy.
Let your feelings slip boy
But never your mask boy
Random blonde bio high density random
Blonde boy blonde country blonde high density
You are my drug boy
You're real boy
Speak to me and boy dog
Dirty numb cracking boy
You geting wet boy
Big big time boy
Acid bear boy
Babes and babes and babes and babes and babes
And remembering nothing boy
You like my tear hole boy
It gets Wet like an angel
Derailed
You got a velvet mouth
You're so succulent and beautiful
Shimmering and dirty
Wonderful and hot times
On your telephone line
And god and everything
On your telephone
And in walks an angel
And look at me mum
Squatting pissed in a tube-
Hole at Tottenham Court Road
I just come out of The Ship
Talking to the most
Blonde I ever met
Shouting
Lager lager lager lager
Shouting
Lager lager lager lager
Shouting...
Lager lager lager
Shouting
Mega mega white thing
Mega mega white thing
Mega mega white thing
Mega mega
Shouting lager lager lager lager
Mega mega white thing
Mega mega white thing
So many things to see and do
In the tube hole true
Blonde going back to Romford
Mega mega mega going back to Romford
How am I at having fun
I know why you're on your way
To a new tension
Headache
Gob bless you men
Have sang mostly different lyrics to this throughout my life. Mad to see the real? words.
Take a bow sir
Aparently I made my own lyrics up hahahh
Absolute poetry , it’s genius
He knew what they came for, and gave them 10 mins from a 6 min track, fair play!
He sounds GREAT live!!!!!
Respect. He sure does ))))
The yellow flush is inspiring beyond words. Also a light and stimulus sensitive disabled person, the chance to see what they were conveying while staying safe was everything! TYSVM for being respectful of both visions and needs!
I'm 46... I just heard and watched this amazing song... two things happened: I traveled in time to better times when dancing to this was the present; and second... now I want to purchase some lights like the ones used in this stage to use in my studio room while listening again to this song full volume blasting!!... my wife is not going to like this new amazing idea... 😁
Say to the wife i knew this before i knew you 😆
Happy days my friend💯✌️
Rather purchase something else
Sheer energy and mind-blowing ecstasy!
Back in the days I remember every time I went out at the weekends this song would be played and the dance floor would be is packed. The good old days 💃🕺🎶
The world make no Sense , without this, without music. Thanks for all the Great times with Electronic Music.
Definitely a great trance legend that stands the test of time, love it ❤
I was blessed enough to be on the night club scene when this amazing song came out. listening to It in the dark with a cold one in your hand and thinking about the rest of the 90s It was an instinct hit and has be apart of people's lives and the song gets better with age.
the best born slippy perform ever !!
Son: "Dad what was the best thing about 90's rave culture? ...the music, the people, the drugs, the dancing, the mornings, the hugs or the temporary sense of intense connectedness to fellow human beings?"
Dad: yes
@@jibbajabba4712 I had some blue vans ,still got them best shoes ive ever owned!!
Speechless. Cinematic. Soundtrack of a lifetime
I can confirm that working behind a really busy bar with this blasting when the “shouting lager, lager, lager” bit comes on it’s an unbelievable buzz!!
LOL GRAZY DUDE BRE
Nothing will compare to this hitting on the dance floor when you are on the verge of passing out, and pushing to dance like a mad lad. That drop.
You go for it, everything starts to white out.
Then that sweet sweet piano hits you stare at the lights, the tab you had washed away...
You spread your arms.
Fucking tune.
what a great tune and love reading through these nostalgic comments.
I saw Darren Emerson play a set back around 2000 ish and he played this, crowd went fucking nuts. One of the best sets ever.
The hairs on your back when that stage first lights up... imagine feeling it there live.. Amazing
JE suis tellement fan de son Energie. C'est beau de voir des choses pareil.
Des grandes inspirations, je ne saurais comment décrire mes émotions quand ce son résonne..
merci pour tout
65 years old and this still sets me on fire. Just gotta jive ...absolutely love it
58, know what you mean…😵💫
Always running, running, towards this fantastic tomorrow, towards this freedom, running and never looking back, going further and higher.....
Born slippy 💙
I was all over this first time around………….62 now and it still frickin ‘bangs’. This and ‘King of snake 🐍’ (live) are two of my favourite tracks. Probably have this at my funeral 😮
Wow! That did not feel like 10 minutes !! Awesome, spine tingling!
I saw Underworld at Wasing recently, i have loved them from the first time i heard them, seeing them live has given me the strength to carry on
Saw them in Halifax a few weeks ago, they were on top form.
This song is beautiful beyond words
I can almost remember every single place and time I've danced on this track. Which is remarkable considering the hazy circumstances back in the day. What a timetraveller! 💎🤙🏽
Had many a wild and euphoric moment when this classic played on the dancefloor, best times so lucky to have been a part of it.
What an absolute banger...!
Im sat here actually crying. Wait, a 47 year old man crying over a song...? Yes, coz of the memories of a life i once had, happy, healthy and free.
Now im feeling old, health has been hit bad with blood cancer and i just feel useless and unworthy of living. I guess maybe only my family members would miss me when im gone. I feel I've wasted my life, as there was so much to live for and i fuckin wasted it.
Oh well, i just wanted to get that off my chest.
Kids, live your best life, grab it by the balls, or whatever, and just bloody live it. ❤
❤
For me, this was the ANTHEM of the decade. Along with the film, this band did was epic.
Timeless classic what a tune makes me feel like a young lad again still rocks today even fantastic
This is one of the greatest songs ever.
I was 11 or 12 when this tune dropped....it still hits when I'm almost 40, DAMN! Look at how much they believe in this song!!! It carries over!!! omg THIS is why i love this music so much WOW
I love this f#&king song! One of the very best Rave songs of all time it punches you in the gut & has an ethereal feeling all at once....thank you UNDERWORLD!!!!🎶🫀
Still an ultimate fave, get lost in it with earbuds. Running. Gym. Etc....these guys are amazing!!!
